We wanted to like this so bad, but the best part of the meal was the bread and pesto, which may or may not have been store-bought. I ordered fried green tomatoes on top of creamy yellow grits with blackened shrimp. Sounds awesome, right? The fried green tomatoes tasted like they were fried yesterday and refrigerated overnight, and the grits were a warm soupy liquid with hardly any«grit» at all. The shrimp had zero flavor. My husband had some kind of fish entrée(which was comparable to my dish), but all in all, everything we had tasted like it had been frozen, pre-prepped, and very bland. The dishes sounded creative and delicious, but it was very poorly executed. Also, no one was smoking at the time(we were one of 3 tables in the whole place on a Friday night), but the whole place felt damp and smelled so badly of smoke. Much as I hate to leave such a negative review, it was honestly just not a good meal.

We’re new to Conway and decided to check out Coppers on a recent Saturday night. Upon arriving at about 5:45 p.m., we were cordially and promptly greeted by Will, a friendly and neatly dressed bartender. After hearing we wanted to sit at the bar, he escorted us and immediately dispensed our drinks and menus. Our first impression was of an upscale, very tastefully decorated, clean space. I chose the Grouper Del Mar and my husband, the Pepper Encrusted Filet. Both meals came with salad and the vegetable of the day(which was perfectly cooked asparagus — although Will offered to substitute another vegetable if we preferred). I asked if they had«chopped» salad and was told they’d be happy to accommodate me. The salad was very fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette, flavorful. I loved the fish, which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a delicious lobster sauce. Roasted baby red potatoes completed the meal. My husband said his filet was one of the largest he’s ever been served in a restaurant and done to his preferred«medium rare» with perfection. While sitting at the bar, we met some of the owners/managers who were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We were stuffed from the very generous portions and, therefore, were unable to sample any of their desserts — next time! Before leaving, I visited the ladies’ room.(I’m somewhat of a restroom snob and never return to a restaurant if their restrooms are dirty or lack supplies). I need not worry here. In addition to being fully stocked with the normal necessities, they even provided facial tissues and hand sanitizer! The restroom was also very clean and nicely decorated. I recall reading a review by someone who called this beautiful restaurant«dark and dank». I can only surmise their previous dining experiences must have consisted of Denny’s and the like; and, they were not familiar with the concept of mood lighting. Either that, or they were a «plant» as we could not possibly be reviewing the same establishment. I can tell that Coppers will probably become our«regular» hangout as we’re lucky to live within walking distance and they more than met our expectations. This was a very welcome discovery as the place we lived(and in which we retain a «vacation» home) is only 15 minutes from the famed Inn at Little Washington and 5 minutes from the outstanding Flint Hill Public House and Country Inn. We truly enjoy fine dining. It’s great to know that we have such a great restaurant so close to our new home. Oh! And, this wonderful meal, including three Mich Ultras was only $ 51.00, before tip! Very highly recommend!

We were in Conway just for the afternoon and I checked on Unilocal ahead of time to get some lunch ideas and Coppers seemed like a pretty good bet. Sure enough I was not disappointed. We went with the buffet and the food was delicious. I particularly liked the pulled pork, and fried chicken. My only complaint was the baked beans were a bit bland, but being from New England, and our first trip down south, perhaps they just make them differently down here. The wide selection of homemade desserts all looked delicious, and the apple cobbler I tried was definitely good. Service was also excellent. The staff was very friendly and made you feel like you were one of the regulars. If we are ever in Conway again, we’ll definitely be stopping by.

We go to Surfside Beach and Myrtle Beach on a regular basis. For some reason, we had never been to Conway, but we made our first visit there in January 2012. We were lucky in that we chose to eat lunch at Coppers Restaurant. I had the lunch buffet and my wife had the shrimp and grits. Both were wonderful and very reasonably priced. The service and owner friendliness were great too. We visited again in February 2012 for dinner. I had the filet mignon and blackened shrimp and my wife had shrimp and grits again. We also both had dessert — coconut cake and chocolate fudge cake. We both agreed our meals were excellent. Coppers(across from the Conway Police Department) is an easy drive from the Myrtle Beach area. Downtown Conway is an interesting place to visit with the various small stores and shops. Also, the restaurant is a very short stroll to the beautiful Conway River Walk along the Waccamaw River. We highly recommend Coppers Restaurant for great food and reasonable prices.

Great food wether it is the buffett, the daily special, or off of the menu. Great service. Always make us feel welcome and don’t mind changing up an item to our tastes.

I was in town on business, and found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. I like the fact that it is a small, locally owned establishment that has a little character & charm. The service was a little slow on our visit — we were there at lunch and decided not to have the buffet. However, but the food was really good and the prices were too. I would definitely eat here again when I am in the area.

Just stopped and had lunch here. Very good we both had the grouper sandwich. It was hand breaded and served on homemade hogie roll. I got the pasta salad which could have used more seasoning. The service was outstanding and warm!

Coppers offers contemporary American fare in a pleasant setting at reasonable prices. The dinner menu is pretty standard — seafood, steaks, chicken, but ingredients are fresh and well-prepared. The lunch buffet offers a very good, tasty selection at a very competitive($ 8.95) price. My only complaints are that the wine selection is very limited and smoking is allowed at the bar… the smell can’t help but enter the dining room.

Fantastic lunch last week. Food was great, price was surprising low, service was good as well. I had the special. Close to the courthouse, etc.
