A nice, small, intimate restaurant. My wife had Salmon, I had Dover Sole Oscar, and we shared Crab Ravioli appetizer. This was one of the best meals that I have had in a long time. Great service, food, and experience. It really does not fit into the area’s bleak dining scene. My only regret is waiting so long to try it.

We almost always choose Seven Gables each weekend. We’ve probably had everything on the menu. Tonight we started with the portobello mushrooms to start, followed by a lovely salad for myself and my husband had a delicious creamy potato and white cheddar soup. He chose the filet and I had ribeye maitre’d. — so much that we had to take some home ! We finished off the evening with one of our favorites, a special ice cream flavored with a delightful combination of liqueurs A night at Seven Gables is always special!

We had the privilege of celebrating my birthday here this week and they sure lived up to the reputation — as expressed by the other reviewers. The atmosphere is truly inviting and the food was simply amazing. I started with the Clam Chowder… Let me just say that these folks know how to make a killer Clam Chowder! The Chowder is unlike any other, my friends. This soup is more of a cross between an AMAZING broth and a simple stew. They forgo the crappy fillers that you typically get with most Clam Chowders allowing the natural ingredients to mesmerize your mouth! I love that they don’t insult the Clams by crowding this soup with potatoes or other nonsensical components. The Clams were perfectly cooked — almost poached gently folks. The best Clam Chowder that I’ve ever had. PERIOD. I could keep going on and on about the soup but, I want to keep your attention here… Lol My fiancé had the Pheasant B’stella and I cannot even explain the robust yet, balanced layers of exotic flavors in this dish… It’s one of the most comforting dishes I’ve ever tasted; I have no idea what kind of cinnamon they’re working with but, Holy S*** — it made that Pheasant SING! Please try it if you are down for a savory/slightly sweet yet, intensely seasoned Moroccan pie. The Chef has to be a magician because this dish was executed with love and mad skill. The puff pastry was crispy and the presentation of this beautiful entrée compelled me to insist that my hubby-to-be share… Like half the plate! No shame… Haha. I ordered the Mussels Mariniere and it too was perfectly executed. I’m a sucker for Mussels so, when my plate arrived with an overflowing heap of bivalve happiness… I was super stoked. The mollusks were cooked nicely and the broth was INSANE! I could eat this dish with a gnarly heel of French Bread every day of the week… Please eat here and experience food nirvana folks. I can’t wait to go back for appetizers and mean cocktails in their inviting lounge/bar; We didn’t even realize that there was a bar with cozy seating until we passed it on the way out the door! Seven Gables will easily become our Saturday night«date night» spot for certain. Thank you, Chef Alain. I appreciate your craft… And I am sincerely amazed by your dynamic and adventuresome palate. You know how to capture the essence of great food and obviously have a gift for elevating the total dining experience… And for that, I thank you. final note… Sadly, I don’t have pictures to share because I really wanted a «no-phone zone» dinner with my amazing fiancé. Enough said…

This review surprises even me because I was not expecting what I got tonight. The Seven Gables has been on our radar for a couple years and tonight we pulled the trigger. It has always been both intriguing and easily overlooked so the only way to know which was accurate was to walk through the door. Upon arriving we noted only four cars but that was misleading. I guess the secret is still a secret! This meal was fantastic! The selections seem somewhat limited but my steak was cooked to perfection. Desserts were especially tasty and proved to be worth saving room for. Do not be discouraged if you are the only car in the parking lot — if they are open it will be absolutely worth the trip!!!

What a lovely restaurant! We were at a nearby horse show and wanted a good meal and several people suggested this place. What a good choice! Not every town has chef prepared menus, we often have to eat at chains. Very relaxed and unique setting. Unpretentious Service was knowledge and helpful. I think very reasonably priced for what you get. Everything was fresh and well prepared. The chicken Wellington was recommended and omg, it was wonderful. I’d drive hours to have that again. The pastry was flaky and the flavor was memorable My friend had the Angelhair vegetation dish. She said it was fresh and perfectly cooked with fresh spinach and fresh mushrooms. My other friend had the shrimp and scallops. She said the sauce was light and flavorful and also perfectly cooked. She said it compared to any dish she could have right on the coast. We have paid more for less quality so we will absolutely be back! I hope to meet the chef next time

Me and my fiancé found this restaurant through the Unilocal app. We came on Valentine’s Day and wanted a nice dinner for 2. We actually have driven past this place many times and never noticed it before. We are both glad we came. The service was very quick and everyone was very nice. I would guess that one of the owners served us our meal. He described the meals to us and gave us great choices to choose from since some of the dishes had french names. We loved the atmosphere here. It’s like a house with a restaurant inside. Louis Armstrong played in the background softly while we ate. You can tell this restaurant has been there for awhile, but I loved the character of the restaurant and it made our dinner even more memorable. We had rolls and sweetened butter brought to the table. Nice fresh warm rolls. My fiancé got a creamy crab soup. Great! I had a classic Ceasar salad. We both got the Peppercorn filet mignon with a truffle butter sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly! I wished I could taste the truffle more, but the steak was so tender it didn’t even matter. For dessert my fiancé got the carrot cake. It wasn’t too sweet and I could taste the carrots. Wonderful! I had the bourbon pecan tart, I believe. It was perfect. I could tell everything was homemade. We will definitely be back and glad we found a great restaurant in Conyers! My only wish was that we had found this place sooner!

We have been to Seven Gables on a couple of occasions. However, I am writing about two great customer services we experienced. One when I was a little under the weather about six months ago, my husband went there to surprise me with food from there. He was told that they do not have take-out services. After my husband explained the dilemma, they prepared two take-out dinners. The lamb was superb like always!!! The second great experience was this past December when I made reservations to have my husband’s birthday dinner there. Again, nothing less than excellent service from David. Even though our guest arrived at different times due to a car accident, he made the evening special for each and everyone of us. Thank you David, my husband really enjoyed himself. It is nice to have a place like Seven Gables in Conyers and it would be nice if they were open on some Sundays.

Great food and service, the prices are a tad high for the area but the food is great so it’s ok. The seating in very cozy and home feeling, since it is indeed an older home converted into a restaurant it works.

Lovely evening in Conyers at Seven Gables. Attentive and thoughtful service from David. Knew his menu spot on. Chose some off-the-beaten path choices for us, as a result. Quiet enough for easy conversation. Eclectic décor, a mix of funky and old school. James Dean portrait over a country French dining table. Shared the clam chowder and side mixed greens salad. Chowder was an interesting lighter broth than typical, highlighted by David when we ordered. Wise choice. Enjoyed thoroughly. Salad had some iceberg lettuce, which was surprising. Otherwise, good. Italian sausage with a lovely sauce and caramelized onions. Yum. Based on another reviewer, decided upon pheasant with phyllo en croute as my entrée. Another excellent choice. It was complemented with a slightly sweetened BBQ sauce with just enough of a smoky undercurrent, an option I thoroughly enjoyed. It came with sides of roasted potatoes done to perfection, green beans and carrots. Hubby chose the Chicken Wellington, which he felt was exquisite, stuffed with Tasso ham and asiago cheese. Had cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert. Both nice with good presentation for two birthdays. Used Unilocal coupon for free appetizer or dessert with entrée easily. Nice way to try something new. Edgy encounter with manager that David handled with concern and intent. Good thing. Awkward for all and hubby was quite annoyed. Nice assortment of classic dishes with inspired reinvention. Would return just to try something different.

Have eaten here several times since moving to Ga. Very good french inspired food. Awesome wait service. All food I’ve eaten so far has been fresh and tasting of natural ingredients i.e. cream and butter. the décor could use a little updating. The owner/chef is very nice and business is ran professionally.

There are a few times in life when you celebrate a special occasion and EVERYTHING is PERFECT! This would be one of them. The food was amazing. I had a filet with peppercorn sauce, my husband had the rack of lamb. The atmosphere was just fabulous quiet intimate and the service could not have been better. I have traveled all over the world and can honestly say I have never had all the elements be perfect at once like here. We will be back many times!

I finally got to take my mother to Seven Gables when she visited from Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. I had tried to bring my whole visiting family for my 50th birthday a few years ago but the restaurant is closed on Sunday and that was the only time we had to go to dinner. So she has been looking forward to this for a while. Seven Gables did not disappoint. My mother likes a good restaurant and she definitely loved Seven Gables, as I do. Our food was delicious, as usual. I expect and receive nothing less every time I go. Chef Alain is always gracious. The waiter(s) are always great. Ours talked just enough to let us know he cared and left us alone to enjoy our meal just enough to not feel constantly interrupted. We finished up the meal with crème brûlée. The waiter heard it was my birthday celebration and brought me a specially decorated dessert. It was a nice end to a fabulous meal. Thank you very much!

We came here friday night for a friends birthday and were pleasantly surprised. Seven gables had always been a place we were never quite sure we wanted to go. Almost like a mystery. But a friend said her family goes all the time and suggested we go for the special occasion. All I have to say is that I was blown away. When you walk in there are pictures of the chef, family and friends, as well as several celebrity guests he has had over the years. The atmosphere is very home like. Its almost like eating in the family dining room with the nice china. The staff was super nice and very attentive as we waited for a table and throughout our meal. I had the pheasant and was in heaven. The sweet sauce complimented the meat so well and the crunchy phyllo added a fantastic element to the dish. There was absolutely no game taste and I would order it again and again. My boyfriend had the Dover sole special and his food was finished in minutes and he had a huge smile which is a lot coming from him. My friend had the Chicken Wellington and loved it so much she had to share it with me and I have to tell you that it was delectable the cheese and cream sauce almost made me wish I had ordered that as well. My friends boyfriend initially ordered the crab ravioli as an appetizer but quickly asked for the meal because he loved it so much. They were so accommodating even though our order had been placed and changed it for him. Finally dessert, I had the pecan torte and almost cried it was so good. Better than any homemade pie I had ever had. We were thoroughly impressed. Needless to say Seven Gables has made its way on to our dinner rotation. Be prepared to see us again!

Arrived at 9 pm and was rudely told the kitchen was closed. A group at another table still had menus. IF you decide to visit, come early. We won’t ever be back.

This restaurant is a gem! I haven’t seen pheasant on a menu in years and it was extraordinary! The service was outstanding and the specials made it hard to choose. I had the portabella mushroom appetizer which was delicious and the Pheasant Bstella which I highly recommend. Fabulous find in Conyers, GA!!!

Food is amazing. Service is awful! Waiter is so rude. Ive been here twice this week. Rude both times. Tonight was exceptionally terrible. I asked for no potatoes with my vegatables… he said it was too much to write and I can eat around them. Slamming menus around and terrible tone. Very close to walking out

My Husband and I love everything about Seven Gables. The food is always excellent. Never had anything that was not prepared with care and was fabulous. Love the lamb especially. We have been going for years. We even had dinner there the evening my husband asked me to marry him. That was eleven years ago.

I was here on 12÷20÷14 for a special occasion after dining here previously in the summer. We requested the chocolate soufflé back in the summer and were told we needed to give advance notice for the soufflé. Ok, no worries, I appreciate them telling me. So someone in my party called 4 days in advance to request the soufflé for our occasion, but we’re told no due to the fact that the person that prepares the soufflé was off for the holidays. Our party had various dishes but the ones that we recommend are the: COCQUILLESST. JACQUES– Fresh Sea Scallops baked in creamy Mascarpone Sauce. CHICKENWELLINGTON — Chicken breasts filled with Tasso Louisiana ham, Risotto & Asiago cheese wrapped in a flaky pastry, oozing with flavor. SEVENGABLESCHICKEN — Breasts sautéed & simmered in a light reduction of Chardonnay lemon sauce. I have changed the review only slightly as the owner/chef requested I do so because of the soufflé situation. The food is delicious but I was still disappointed I have not had the soufflés.
