WOW — NOTIMPRESSED! I’m in town on business: long hours of work, stress, etc., and in dire need of a massage to get the kinks out of my back, shoulders & neck. Came across this location of Massage Envy on the way to a business dinner. Quick decision to take advantage of the opportunity! The girls at the front desk were quite friendly, and very accommodating with the schedule: I needed something strategically timed to overlap a lunch hour the following day, and ensure i had enough time to get back to the office for executive meetings. Done! Or not ?!? I got a call in the morning to inquire if i can come in 30 minutes later than my appointment: I explained that i could not, due to work commitments already in place. I did offer to come 30 minutes earlier than booked, but was told that no problem — my original appointment will be kept as scheduled. I arrived 25 minutes early, to fill out«paperwork». Greeted at the desk: all looks ok, but it was very quiet. Got the papers, was shown into a waiting room, and started filling out the forms. There was a gentleman snoozing in a chair. About 15 minutes later, a technician comes to get him, and I heard him say that his appointed service provided did not show up. Lovely, I think… Just in case, i peeked into the lobby to double-check that my appointment will start on time, as I am scheduled minute-to-minute with business meetings, I was told yes, there was still 10 minutes to go. 15 minutes later, i.e. 5 minutes into my scheduled treatment, no change. I step out again, and again ask when the service will begin, as I am on a strict schedule. The girl says she’ll check with the therapis [leading me to believe one was on site already, and probably still finishing the previous appointment]. Another 8 – 10 minutes pass, i.e. 40 minutes after I came in, i am told the masseuse is running late !!! SERIOUSLY??? After checking with me by phone in the morning, after i came in 25 minutes before my appointment, and TWICE asked about the timing, they tell me the news! Clearly, there is no sense of customer service, meeting obligations, or professional staff management. What an incredible disappointment! Here i am, back at the office, extremely angry and disappointed. Sounds like THIS location is not ready for the big times. Get a

I have been discouraged by Massage Envy. There are a couple reasons why I am only giving them two stars. The first is that quite a few of their massage therapists do not understand deep tissue massage. That is very disappointing because if I am spending money, I want to get my money’s worth. A light gentle«rub» is not going to do anything for me. Those massage therapists that did actually use pressure in their deep tissue massages didn’t seem like they knew anything about the muscle fibers or connective tissue. Why did I keep going back? Because on my first appt they suckered me into joining their program. You can get 1 free massage by paying about $ 50 or so dollars per month. I tried various massage therapists at various locations. Only one that I wasn’t disappointed in. Also, this is only rumor(I heard from 2 massage therapists themselves) but I hear they pay their massage therapists from $ 15-$ 20 per hour… and pocket the rest of the money themselves. I think that is the reason why they can only attract mediocre massage therapists. I am willing to pay $ 75 per hour for a GOOD massage therapist who knows what he or she is doing. That is rare to find. I did have an amazing massage therapist in Central America, but she wouldn’t come back to the states with us! If you are looking for just a relaxing rub down, then sure, the price is right… but if you need therapeutic work, then this is definitely not the right place to go.
