I’ve been shopping at Michaels for quite some time and i usually leave satisfied with the customer service. this location is not one i frequent but it was the nearest one to me at the time. i purchased a lace hole puncher and one of the pieces broke off, figured i could just go in and do an even exchange but it was unfortunate i could not. i did not have the packaging nor a receipt since i only brought the product itself with me to where we were making invitations. i came into the store and was greeted by a young curly red-headed gal, she was very sweet. she told me to go ahead and find the product and she could do the exchange for me. unfortunately, i was unable to find the product and nobody seemed like they wanted to help. no sales associates went to look for the product as most retail stores do. there were two sales associates that were very rude(an older thin woman with short gray hair and glasses, and a younger associate with brown short hair with a lot of blue eyeshadow). they kept saying they couldn’t give me anything else since i didn’t have the original packaging nor the receipt. I DIDNOT ask for anything different, i asked for the EXACT same product as i need it for invitations. nothing more, nothing less. i was sold a product that was defective after a few uses and i needed it as we were in the middle of crafting ME: can you tell me if there’s another store that carries this product? SA: no, we don’t have any numbers to look it up in the system ME: can you use the numbers that are on the labels on the floor? SA: no, because we don’t know if that’s the specific one ME: what are those numbers on the tags used for then? SA: we don’t know ME: do you have an inventory book to look it up? SA: no ME: you’re saying you don’t have anything to track your items in your stores? SA: no so i left unsatisfied, poor customer service, and i went to the Maple Grove store with better service and what i needed. this is probably why the parking lot was empty on a Saturday afternoon and the Maple Grove location was packed! customer service definitely goes a long way… I won’t be going back to this location!
