Sears

I spent an hour at the Sears on Main Street In coon Rapids tonight and not because I love the store. I attempted to return a microwave purchased in over $ 5k worth of kitchen appliances. When I wrestled the heavy microwave into the car because it wasn’t going to fit in my kitchen, and brought it back to the local store, I sat in the checkout line for 5 – 10 minutes while I watch Kim (apparently a manager) breathe down two young/​new employees necks, nitpicking and cracking jokes to customers at their expense. Kim finally took the cash bags and left the counter as I finally approached for my turn. The new register worked Connor was kind. He took the time to log my info and attempted to return my item but the system glitched at the end and sent Connor back to the start. And then again. And then again from there. It seemed something about my order was off. I told Connor I was going to look browse for new microwaves after 20 minutes passed in attempts. I found one I liked and came back. Conor informed me that he had to call online store to return my product. Said we needed an RC and SC code. No idea but I pulled up my seats account info to find these codes. No such codes were apparent in my account activity. I told Connor I’d call and give them personal info to get through the security questions. I explained the situation to a lady on the phone and she proceeded to put me on hold for several minutes. Then more questions and more holding and then another round of questions and hold. Finally she said she would email me confirmation where I could leave the product and get refunded. But I asked her what email account to verify her work and more holding while she «processed» my refund. Roughly 15 minutes into that call, she informed me that the email wouldn’t be to me for 48 hours so I couldn’t leave the heavy microwave behind. I had to load it back into my car and bring it home. Even after restraint from flipping out in anyone and everyone, I composed myself and bought a new microwave that was smaller and may fit better. I brought that home and it still wasn’t right. Now I have 2 microwaves and my dryer doesn’t fit either. I’m very concerned that I will be passed around and never provided clear resolution. In fact, I’ve come to expect that. My experience with Sears tonight was enough to make me turn my back on Sears for life. All the money spent, all the appliances purchased and a lack of customer service will not only make me avoid any further pain, I will notify many others of my trouble this evening and other recent dealings coordinating the home delivery.
