This place is amazing. They answered all my stupid questions as a first-​time cat owner, and let me sit in one of the cat rooms for several hours to pick the one for me. The volunteers know every cat by name, and they make sure each potential adopter will provide a good home for the animal.
The dogs I did not see, but they let some of them «loose» in the office and they seemed really happy and healthy. If you happen to pick an animal that someone else has expressed interest in, thy will be glad to put you on a waiting list.
Do not go in expecting to bring home an animal that day. They are a no-​kill shelter, but once an animal leaves, they want to make sure it has a forever home. This process includes filling out forms and calling references that you provide. All in all, I think once I had chosen a cat, he was home with me within week.
