Definitely want to get there early if you want a guava and cheese pastry. Super tasty and fulfilling for a Cuban breakfast. Everyone here speaks Spanish parking is TIGHT!

Horrible customer service, they almost make you feel that they are doing you a favor, but the reality is that you are paying for a very overpriced low quality food. I’ve been at other locations but this is for sure the worst one, is amazing that they got to re-open it. Don’t stop here

I’m surprised that this Don Pan is not really as good as the other ones like I found one person who didn’t speak English not knowing how to cut bread how the hell is that possible that is weird for someone who doesn’t know how to cut bread someone else helped him and the guy said sorry to me but 3 stars because of how good their food is it’s always good I won’t go back to this location maybe

I have been to several Don Pan locations and this is the worst one. Last time I visited, I waited in line waiting more than 20 mins(wasn’t busy) and was not served. The staff saw me and ignored me. Another guy came up behind me and he was served before me. When I went to say something, a lady came to assist me. I asked why the other person behind me was served, and she rolled her eyes and responded with«Well, I’m helping you now.» Worst customer service I’ve ever encountered in any business establishment in Coral Gables. Furthermore, I wrote corporate several months ago with regards to this incident, and have not heard back. I recommend going to Versailles for bakery goods. Service is efficient and staff is more professional.

No recomendable, el peor cachito de jamón que me he comido en mi vida. Baños sucios y descuidados, atención al cliente de normal a baja. The worst place for eat venezuelan bakery.

I never write reviews this short, but this sums it up: I had to coach the guy behind the counter how to MAKE A CUBAN! At first he tried to sell me a load of Cuban bread. WTF?! Then he asked me what I wanted in my Cuban, when I clarified I wanted the sandwich, like the menu says. He was like, «You want lettuce?» On a Cuban?! The sign right behind him said: «pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles.» He just shrugged. Ummmm. .. ?

It seems like they have changed management — there’s a sign indoors saying this when I visited this establishment today. And I’m seeing that there’s a few things different in this Don Pan — I don’t know if it’s going through a system-wide change, but it seems better than before. I stopped by to get Don Pan’s well-regarded anise-flavored rolls, the golfeados. Besides getting this, I saw that they had several Andean breads lined up(pan andino) and they also looked better than the last one I got — so I had ordered it again. And frankly, it was a miss — I think it needs to be more concentrated and have more papelon than sugar. I did see that they also sold Cuban bread here — and it was going for the same price like the ones at Publix. But I have to say that the Cuban bread here may be worth the buy — it looks better and bigger and the bread recipe is far much more a simpler one at that. Another find that I thought was nice was that now they’re offering pastelitos andinos — small round flour-based empanadas typical in the Venezuelan andes. And the chicken pastelito was with curried chicken — which makes me think of the part of Venezuela near Trinidad. It was good — but I bet it would be better if they were made fresh-to-order. I can say the same about the shredded beef empanadas. I ordered two, had one, and it was soggy and not very good. With the second one, I waited to get home and fried it again so that it’ll have a crispy crust — and it was scrumptious. Therefore, I think that if you’re getting empanadas here, tell them to refry them for you — and if they don’t, then just take it home and fry it there although I’m aware that’s more labor-intensive. I didn’t get the cachapas here, but admittingly they looked excellent here. I’m tempted to come back someday to try those and hopefully they’ll be as good as they look. Either way, I’ll be back for the golfeados.

I feel terrible writing an unsatisfactory review but I feel the need to warn my fellow Unilocalers! I recently went there for LUNCH with my friend and since we only have 40 mins. of lunch we expect pretty quick service for a place that serves arepas! They are NOT4 course meals people! The arepa was decent but the service and time it took to make was unreasonable and unacceptable for lunch hour and being that the place was EMPTY!!! I was furious but left politely because the guy at the register was really nice, a little bit«too nice» cause after the hundredth«amorcito» he threw at me, I was just annoyed! Needless to say, I will NOT be coming back to this location again! First of all the woman making the arepa had a look of «que tu quieres?» and worked at the speed of a snail… zzzzzzz! And the service just didn’t meet my standards!

This morning I picked up a co-worker to head to work and we needed coffee. We usually go to Starbucks and as we are driving down US1 she throws out the suggestion of going to Don Pan. I tell her that 7 years ago I had a bad experience with the management due to whip cream that I wanted on my coffee, and ever since then I do not give them my service. She insist that we go and that they are under new management… BADIDEA. We get there at 7:31a.m. and place an order with Janet, 217oz coffees, 1 colada, 1 cachito, 1 croissant with ham and cheese, and 2 tostadas. Let me remind you that the only customers there at the moment is a gentelmen in front of us and my friend and I. Janet takes my order and there is another young lady at the register and two young men working in the back a total of 4 employees. About 3 minutes go by and a gentlemen walks in and they take his order. Janet is running all over the place and my order is still in process. Its 7:37a.m. and the gentlemen who came in after me already received his order and is on his way out, I keep waiting. at 7:42a.m. My friend asked Janet of the status of our order, she tells my friend«Cant you see i’m working on your coffee’s» My friend does not appreciate her tone of voice and her comment and then responds, «Just forget the rest of the food and please give me my coffee» at this time we already paid $ 14 for the foods. She continues to talk back to us and tell us to wait that it will only take 6 minutes to make the tostadas. She starting telling us that we need to understand that they are other people there when clearly it was EMPTY. We asked Janet to dismiss the tostadas and she said No, it will take 6 minutes only. She gave us the croissant with ham and cheese and cachito both COLD and didnt even attempt to return our money for the tostadas. I clearly told my friend that this is the reason that I didnt give them my service for 7 years and will not attempt to go back there again. The new management sign inside the facility is not going to encourage customers to return with rude employees and slow service. I got treated like a 5 year old when i’m a professional 28 year old and she had no reason to attack when we simply asked for the status of our order. I am truly disappionted with the servie of this place andI really hope that they can take management classes, organization and multi-tasking. I can rate this with NOSTARS but I have to give them one because the field is required to be filled in.

Wow! I have called non stop and they do not pick up. So don’t even consider calling to place an order cause its not going to happen.

This bakery is the closest one to my house and I had stopped in earlier this year when I first moved in and was surprised by the lack of selection from such a prime location on US1. The staff was far from friendly and I had left with a croissant sandwich that was far from exciting for the price I paid(roughly $ 4.99 for a croissant with ham and cheese; the prices go up from there). After passing it for the last few months and seeing people constantly sitting inside, I stopped in again yesterday hoping that I remembered my experience there incorrectly. Sadly I was right all along and left without buying a thing. There are a few types of coffee and several kinds of pastries and cakes, but for a quick breakfast sandwich, this place is disappointing and horribly overpriced. A turkey and cheese sandwich isn’t too hard to master and sadly this place can’t seem to please me. I don’t think I’ll be returning which is unfortunate since it’s so convenient!

Some places are better than others about making you feel welcome. No where is this more blatant than at this bakery. The first time I walked in, I felt as if all eyes were on me and like I didn’t belong. The server’s immediately started speaking to me in Spanish and since I know it, I went along, hoping that maybe this would make me feel more comfortable. It didn’t. The guava pastry is good but there’s definitely better places to go to pick up something in the morning or afternoon. Their one selling point? The cheap cortadito that can get me through an afternoon lull. For better or worse, the power of caffeine supersedes the otherwise unpleasant experience.

Not impressed at all. Snooty staff, old pasteries in the case. The last time I was there was to pick up a dessert for Fathers day and the stuff in the case looked like it was sitting there for a while. Some of the strawberries had mold and some of the cakes were leaking some type of liquid out of the bottom. I’d go there for coffee if it was the only place that was open.

This local Latin bakery chain is easy to please for me for a) good store presentation b) excellent desserts c) accessible store locations There seems to be Don Pans everywhere in Miami-Dade and I’m glad because I have a huge sweet tooth. If you want to pick something up for a birthday, you should try their cakes and tortes here(think similar offerings from Versailles Bakery). Also, I’ve come here on occasion to pick something nice up for my coworkers(some pasteles, empanadas, choco-croissants) and they gobble it all down(even while saying, «Don Pan? Really? I never go there cause it’s a chain»). Heh. The evidence speaks for itself.
