Went there for lunch, they were out of a lot of things in the menu. Waitress waited 10 minutes to tell people they didn’t have what they ordered. Out of regular ice tea. While we were there every table ordered something they were out of and were not told until for quite a while. The waitress had no clue of menu items, what was available or not. Only 2 splendas left. Order a soup, they never brought it. Turkey sandwich had 1 thin slice of turkey, $ 8.95. This is only a seven 2⁄3 seat tables. Overly price.

Yes this place is more expensive than the typical lunch restaurant but they also buy more expensive and more wholesome ingredients. We love the place and go there as often as we can. Our only grip is that is is not open in the evenings. I read the reviews and saw the complaints. For those with sticker shock: trust me a $ 12 burger made with grass fed beef ISNOT expensive. And that pumpkin soup that one of the reviewers referred to: my husband who never eats vegetables tasted mine and finished it. Clearly if you do not like pumpkin do not order them and if you do not like avocados do not order them. I agree that the place sometimes rns out of certain food. Their business is variable. Once I arrived after a party that filled the place and they had ran out of several items. On the plus side you know that nothing is frozen and everything is prepared from scratch and no old food is served. This is the price you pay for good food. To us we think it rates at #2 after Michael Genuine but if you do not live in the design district and you want a closer and cheaper option this place is for you.

Worth a terrible review. I went here with a friend and spent a lot of money, around $ 18 including a GENEROUS20% tip, for the poorest made food i’ve had at a ‘restaurant’(wishful thinking anyway) in a long time. My friend and i both ordered the chicken sandwich with a bowl of soup. For a couple extra bucks we got the soup as it stated clearly on the menu, «add a bowl of soup for $ 2.99»(or around that anyway). The soup was ok, if i had to choose a word i would use, lack-luster. It tasted pretty decent, but it was tiny, watery, and didn’t really hit the spot. I finished the corn soup hoping the sandwich would be better; my hopes were futile. The sandwiches we got were sparse with the ingredients that sounded so well put together on the menu, and the toasted bread was more like a mix between sandpaper and a brick. Listen, i love toast. i have NOTHING against toast. What i’m not a fan of is «toast» so over-toasted that it scratches the roof of your mouth every time you bite down to chew the food you’re trying to enjoy/not spit out(as you’re paying a pretty penny for what is worth less than ½ of what it costs.) After we finished our violent mouth-roof scratching food, the check offended both of us. We split the bill as we both got the same exact thing, my check alone came out to around $ 18. I thought, that doesn’t sound right. Turns out the server didn’t calculate that we got our soups WITH the sandwich. He charged us full price for the soup so i said something and he then apologized and fixed it. Ok, so the bill is changed. Now in lieu of $ 18 it was now $ 15, still WAYYY too much for what we got. I have to say, i admire the aspiration for a quaint little veggie restaurant, i really do. But they suck at it. Save your money. Go eat other food that is stellar and won’t violate your person and your pocket!

With the exception of Calamari’s, George’s and Lulu’s, there are absolutely NO satisfying lunch restaurants in Coconut Grove. Hence, there are many times where I must drive over to Coral Gables to find an agreeable meal. Off of Le Jeune Road, lies a quaint and healthy little restaurant called«Green Table.» Their motto is «We Choose Organic, We Cook Fresh, We Live Healthy.» They definitely live up to their motto. If with a friend, I recommend you first split the Mediterranean Hummus. They serve you a large portion of organic hummus, warm pitas and crunchy cucumbers garnished with olive oil & paprika. For an entrée, I absolutely love two items. First is their backyard chicken. The sandwich comes with a nicely grilled chicken breast with avocado and greens with an incredibly delicious chipotle aioli. From what I could taste, this aioli is a healthy blend of eggs, oil, garlic chipotle, cilantro and spinach. For those that enjoy«slow food» this is a fresh and savory sandwich. Second is their cross-fit burger. Not only is the beef grass fed, but it is incredibly lean. Instead of a bun, they insert flavorful Portobello mushrooms. This nutrient dense burger is satisfying without the guilt of carbohydrates. Green Table is not a busy place nor is it very large. However, the ambiance is pleasant and trendy. The French Country décor blends neatly with the Coral Gables power lunch crowd. Stacks of Ocean Drive magazines and books about Miami’s history are on hand. The staff is incredibly welcoming and they serve you immediately. One waiter has this beautiful long brown hair and a nice smile. He could pass for a Brazilian Soccer player, but I hear he is a long distance cyclist. The brother and sister owners are very proud of their restaurant and they should be. Thanks for supporting the green movement and sustainable food practice!

The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and made in-house. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean and nice. I had the avocado sandwich, which is hard to mess up, however, I got the aioli on the side and my boyfriend said that was delicious(also made in-house). My boyfriend got the meatloaf made with grass fed beef. He said it was one of the better meat loafs he has ever had, besides actual homemade meatloaf of course. It was served with a gravy which is not traditional, however he loved it. Afterward we ordered the carrot cake and the flavor was dead on but a little dry, probably from sitting out. The only drawback is that it closes at 7 and it’s not a very busy place. I loved that we were served immediately, however, we were the only ones there so it was very quiet and a little awkward at first(it’s a very small space). We will probably go back and I’d recommend it. They deliver too! Maybe we will order to-go or delivery …

Looking for lunch one day, I was enthused by the various reviews extolling this place’s edibles(particularly Patrick L’s!). Sadly, I was a little bummed. Don’t get me wrong — they earned their three stars, but I so wanted to find a five there. This is a charming little spot — very similar to Whisk, its forefather. I LOVE their approach and concern for local farming and ingredients. Can’t wait for the day when every restaurant is equally responsible. The service was attentive and accommodating. I ordered the veggie sandwich with avocado and aioli, with a pumpkin/orange soup and some roasted potatoes. My dining companion had the goat cheese portobello mushroom sammy. The sandwich was a little flavorless. Unfortunately, I’m a not a huge fan of Florida avocadoes — which I should have thought about before ordering the sandwich. But I could barely taste the aioli, so there wasn’t a lot happening there. The roasted potatoes were fine, but could have used a little more seasoning. I REALLY didn’t like the pumpkin soup, but as a caveat, I think it’s just me. I associate pumpkin flavor with sweetness, and the soup wasn’t sweet at all. But it obviously wasn’t meant to be. My lunch partner loved it, and ate both bowls — so I’m sure it was good for people who like such flavors. We had bread pudding for dessert, which I found a little disappointing. It tasted a lot like fruitcake. I want to love it more … and I’m sure I’ll be back to try again. They get an extra star because of their sustainable concept and friendly service.

I would come here again. This place is fairly small yet very inviting. Their opening hours are very limited Mon-Fri 11 – 7 pm but well worth a visit. These folks are trying to promote a very healthy menu and it works. My friend Ute invited me for an early dinner right after work because she had a dealtificate, which didn’t include the«daily specials» unfortunately. Either way their regular menu had great options as well. For starters we had the quinoa salad which came in 2 cup bowl. The flavors were very rich and tasty. I would definetively order this again. As an entrée I ordered the Grilled Portabello on Brown Rice and must say that I enjoyed every single bite of it. The rice was not overcooked but rather crunchy in texture, the mushroom was perfectly grilled and very satisfying as a veggie option. It was served with zucchini and onions and an aioli sauce. All I can say is — TRYIIT! Ute had the WaaHoo Salad. I thought the fish was perfectly seared and the greens looked very fresh coated with just the right amount of dressing. If this place was right next to my workplace I would go all the time. A must know place for locals for sure.

Hole in the wall with a total of four tables and super casual. Purchased a Dealtificate because the concept of locally sourced organic food was intriguing. Should have read the fine print more closely, more about that later. Plates are small, which is why I can understand why some of the other reviews thought it was pricey for what you get. Here is my takeaway: Quinoa salad appetizer. You get a small bowl of quinoa with craisins, scallions and chopped nuts. Nothing I couldn’t whip up at home but a good healthy start and just enough to share between two people, for about ½ cup each. Grilled portobello with brown rice. I had no idea a mushroom could taste this fantastic. The trick is port wine, according to the waiter. The price is reasonable at $ 10.95 but then again you get a single mushroom cap sliced on about a cup of brown rice. The rice was a little too al dente for my liking and could have done without added oil in it. Barely enough for even a small eater. I ordered one of the daily specials, the wahoo with a citrus salad. The salad was nothing special, chopped romaine tossed with orange slices and fresh basil, but fresh and crunchy. The wahoo was about a 4 oz portion. It did have a nice sear on it but was overcooked and thus pretty dry. At $ 19 a little overpriced. I love goat milk and goat cheese so I had to try the goat milk vanilla ice cream. I found it a little watery. Given the usually creamy consistency of goat milk, a disappointment. The vanilla bean speckles were lovely but all in all I could have done without it. When we presented the Dealtificate, we were told it could not be used for the daily special, which although in the fine print makes no sense as the special was much higher priced than the regular menu items. In my opinion, they could have let us use it. Not willing to forfeit half of my coupon, I asked the waiter to pack up some cookies and carrot cake to go. Given that they were closing at 7:00PM they were probably glad to get rid of the stuff anyway. Cookies– awful. A day old, hard and stale. They don’t even use whole wheat flour. At a place that advertises healthy food I would expect them to at least use a blend or maybe almond flour, something other than white flour! The carrot cake was fresh, moist and had an abundance of nuts in it. It was delicious but my guess is that it has a minimum of 600 calories per slice, maybe more. I was hoping they’d have the flour less chocolate cake but no such luck. My general verdict is that whether they truly use organic and locally grown food is hard to verify. The added oil in the quinoa and brown rice is unnecessary. You can taste the butter in the cookies(not in a good way) and the fact they don’t even use whole wheat pastry flour is just weak.

Absolutely LOVED and ADORED this place. It was so cute(loved the new decorations and what they’ve done with the space), so tasty, so everything. True hidden gem, considering we were the only ones inside at dinnertime on a Friday evening. It was kind of sad, but nice to have the tiny space to ourselves. I was ready to invite all the people going to get Chinese next door to join us. The food was top-notch, I didn’t understand how everyone could compare this to the perfect Whisk, but now I see. It is definitely EQUAL in comparison, if not better. And it is nice to have something so similar in taste with more menu options. Sweet & Sour Shrimp soup was the best soup I think I’ve ever had. Perfect salty blend of spices and huge shrimp pieces throughout. They bring out fun accompaniments to add to your soups and meals(ie. chopped onion, pico de gallo, sauces, etc). The corn soup wasn’t my cup of tea, but it was okay, more of a texture thing for me. The meals were amazing as well, the Sweet Potato Gnocchi in Rosemary Butter sauce was delish, on the small side and left us craving more. And the Goat Cheese Portabella Sandwich was phenomenal, so fresh with all their local organic products. Yum yum! And to top it off, we had a flourless chocolate cake(of course, can’t compare to my favorite bakery’s version COP) but was pretty good. And I couldn’t leave without taking a bag of take-home cookies with me for later. So good, actually affordable, healthy, home-grown, local products, definitely will be returning.

Just went to try it out since my favorite, green gables café closes at 4. Not impressed. I had the bell and evens chicken salad. Nothing out of This world. But was disappointed when I asked for an espresso and was told that the only person who knows how to use the machine has left. Not a very good way to build business Learn how to make the items on your menu

Price is an issue, BUT when you serve local, fresh products that is what is expected. Definitely fresh, tasty, and well portioned. For those who love organic, healthy and tasty meals, this place is a must. Lemonade is great! I was sad that i could not try some of the desserts but that was because i am allergic to nuts, :o(

Let’s put this out there, right off the bat: This place is not as good as Whisk. Seriously, was not THAT impressed I had the roast beef sandwich with herbed potatoes. I ordered the potatoes, the waitress heard my order, repeated it and then didn’t bring them out claiming she hadn’t heard them and didn’t really apologize. I was a little upset, but tried to just roll with it. The sandwich was good, and it was obvious that the ingredients were high quality, so there is that. Service can make or break a place for me. I’d love to come back and try their gnocchi, but I’m not sure if I will — given the choice between this and Whisk, I would choose Whisk every time.

Patrick L.‘s review was spot on for me and was, in fact, the reason I decided to check out Green Table. I hadn’t thought about what would open after Whisk moved either. I don’t normally head to that area for lunch, unless of course it’s something really special. And, Green Table is really special! Green Table uses mostly organic and mostly local produce. I think it’s just spectacular for a Miami restaurant to utilize our great local farms. It reminds me more of a restaurant I would find in Ann Arbor or San Francisco than Miami. The physical space inside the restaurant is small, so a lunch rush could mean a wait. I arrived around 1PM and didn’t have to wait for a table at all. I ordered the goat cheese and Portobello mushroom sandwich. I asked for it on a baguette, though the normally serve it on a whole grain bread. The sandwich was topped with tomatoes, and alongside was a simple salad of greens with a bit of salt. The produce is so good and has so much flavor. It’s not often that a tomato or lettuce could taste that good, but it did. It is on the pricey side so I couldn’t make this a regular lunch destination, but I will definitely return soon.

Will this be another Whisk II, maybe it’s the location that will make this place, as Whisk has moved on to a bigger, worse parking lot place, apparently they left behind there baby brother called«The Green Table». Since it’s the same place as the old Whisk, parking is circumspect, and I’m sure good olé Havana Harry, will tow some unsuspected customers car. Now that being said, how’s the food. I ordered the Guacamole, and chicken sandwich with monterey jack cheese on whole wheat. This is food at it’s most simplistic form, I should’a got soup and sandwich just to take me back to my youth, but, the guacamole sounded good, and for the most part it was. I had to add salt, but I kinda think that’s the idea. It was chunky and creamy, and it came with baked tortilla chips. I would have preferred a spicy pepper or two in it, but they did do a good job. My sandwich was in a word«excellent», what more can I say, something as simple as a sandwich has been screwed up by more people then the infamously skinny Jared can shake a stick at. That’s if he’s still alive, some say not! But, my sandwich was tasty stuffed with chicken, and a delicious chaplet aioli sauce, which really made the chicken stand out. The side salad of wild greens and arugula was a nice touch. This is a place that I hope really makes it, it’s good, and I didn’t walk away feeling stuffed, just satisfied! It is a bit pricey, but that keeps the riff raff out! :O)

Pricey, organic sandwiches with the friendliest service. It’s the former home of Whisk Gourmet, so you know it’s a small space with limited tables for probably less than 15 people. The fresh lemonade was the best I’ve ever had. My friend and I split the guacamole, which was fresh, but was missing something tasty. The goat cheese and portabello mushroom sandwich had a great sauce and came out hot and gooey. The chicken avocado and cheese chipotle sandwich was probably my favorite because it was full of flavor. Greens come as a side for the sandwiches. I’m not cheap, but paying $ 12 dollars for a normal size sandwich is a little on the steep side. For dessert, they had gluten free brownies and guava empanadas which I wish I had room to try. They have daily specials and they deliver which is also a plus if you’re in the neighborhood. I’ll probably be back to try other dishes on the menu.

Perhaps I hadn’t given much thought to what would occupy the old Whisk space. I guess I thought that the space would be vacant for a while, providing some parking relief for patrons of the other businesses in this tiny shopping center. This is not the case, however. Mere weeks after Whisk went big-time, there is a new contender for«Buzz-Worthy Quirky Coral Gables Lunch Spot» occupying its birthplace. The bedrock practice underlying Green Table’s menu is to use fresh, local farm-to-table organic ingredients. While not overly large, it’s an impressive menu, and does offer a fair number of legitimate vegetarian choices. I’d go so far to say that veggie dishes and meat dishes are on equal footing. I want to try the veggie skewers, ratatouille, and crunchy root vegetable salad, but alas, I cannot comment upon these in this review, as I only have one stomach, capacious though it may be. I began with a lemonade and an order of hummus, which in retrospect, was a mistake. Not because the hummus was mediocre, which it wasn’t — but because there was a lot of it, and I nearly cleaned the plate. With a number of pita wedges and a substantial full bowl of hummus, this is an appetizer for 2 – 3 hungry people. The hummus itself is simply seasoned; not the sharpest-flavored hummus I’ve ever had as its proportion of tahini seems to be intentionally low, but it tastes fresh. The lemonade was heavy on the tart side, and I was going to note this in my review as a weakness, but when I got to the bottom of the glass, I saw that the sugar had all fallen out of solution — all I had to do was stir it up a little and the lemonade likely would have been perfect. Oops. The roast beef sandwich with blue cheese, onion and fig compote was a work of art. I’m a sucker for presentation. The sandwich was halved, and the halves were stood on end along the plate’s diagonal and allowed to lean on each other, obscured from view by a helping of mixed greens. With a choice of multigrain or whole wheat bread, this sandwich offers an interesting alternative to your garden-variety roast beef sandwich. I love the use of a chunky fig spread here instead of gag-inducing mayonnaise that I have to request be omitted. The flavor dynamic was all about the interplay of sharp, slightly salty blue cheese vs. the very sweet figs — the copious tender, juicy beef slices in the middle were really just there to provide some… well, beef, so cantankerous reviewers like me don’t complain about paying $ 12.95 for a roast beef sandwich with no beef. Oh, and do eat your mound of fresh leafy greens. The menu goes to the trouble to list the particular local farmers from which they were sourced, so it would be a shame to let them go to waste. After all that, I had to try dessert. How often do I get to have goat’s milk passionfruit ice cream? They will provide a small taster free of charge, but I can’t imagine turning down a full portion after having tried the taster. This goat’s milk ice cream, also made locally, has an interesting consistency. I’d never had ice cream made with goat’s milk before, but it’s not very creamy at all; more gritty, coming off as more of a sorbet but not quite. Beyond the consistency, what makes this an amazing dessert is the fact that the potent, pungent passionfruit is allowed to shine — it isn’t dumbed down and buried beneath impenetrable strata of cream and sugar. Whisk’s heir-apparent is here. Go while it’s still easy to do so. As a bonus, they are open until 7PM, so it is possible to make it for an early dinner.

Whisk was a hidden gem for only so long. Once word got around about it’s mouth-watering burgers, crispy fingerling potato chips and irresistible key lime pie, the parking lot was jammed and lines were out the door during the lunch hour. That motivated me to get over to Green Table right upon it’s opening to see if it had the same future in store. After a great early dinner in the tiny space, I can definitely anticipate a great future. There’s only room for about 12 people to sit down and eat at a time but thankfully no one else was around this evening. The menu is small but full of tempting dishes. We started with the generous sized portion of fresh guacamole paired with delicious tortilla chips. There was even some radish on the plate that I couldn’t help but eat. For our main courses, I enjoyed the ratatouille with couscous and my friend got the steak sandwich. The ratatouille was warm, filling and tasty. I tried a strip of steak with parsley cilantro dressing from the sandwich and it was perfectly cooked and tender. There’s no denying the freshness of all the ingredients. My friend couldn’t stop raving about the bread the sandwich came on. The service was really friendly and we were constantly checked on to make sure we were enjoying our food and didn’t need anything else. She was even nice enough to bring more tortilla chips when we went through them all. They offer an array of desserts including goat milk ice cream that I’d like to try out. While baking fresh chocolate chip cookies they browned one a little too much so offered it to us for free. Thinking a little crispness never hurt a cookie, we accepted. I can only imagine what it’d taste like perfectly baked. If it’s anything like the rest of the meal, I could only expect the best.

oh man, maybe there’s some food magic karma going on in this kitchen because I swear the guys at GTAKB might give Whisk a run for their money! I happened to check this place out for lunch today because the lovely Jessica C. was dying to try it. When I walked in with my friend, we were promptly tended to and seated. The layout is essentially the same as it used to be(perhaps a little less cluttered), but the upside is that Whisk took the lunch crowd with them, so we didn’t have to wait at all and parking was easy and available. We had our waters and lemonades and waited for our third party to show. The staff was super friendly and attentive and made sure to ask us if we had any questions about the menu. Before we had the chance to order, we were treated to a sampler plate of some delicious home-made Parmesan cheese spread, fig marmalade, and heirloom tomatoes in olive oil glaze with toast. It was sooooo good! We ordered the Hani’s goat cheese sandwich with grilled portobello mushroom and herbs, and the grilled«Bell & Evans» chicken breast sandwich with avocado slices, Monterrey jack cheese and chipotle mayo! They were both excellent and came with a side of wild greens, but everyone’s favorite was definitely the goat cheese. As if it weren’t enough that both the food and service were spectacular, after we were done with our meal, the chef Monica Rio came to our humble table and introduced herself, and asked us for suggestions on what she could do to improve the overall experience… WHAT? F’REAL? I think this is the first review I write for a recently opened place that I don’t have to give them the benefit of the doubt… way to go guys, I’ll definitely be coming back for more! Ps– did I mention that all of their ingredients are organic and from locally grown farmers? extra brownie points for supporting the green movement and sustainable food practice!
