Do not order delivery from here! Our food took an hour and a half to arrive, and we only live 5 minutes away. The wonton soup was decent at best, the chicken and broccoli was 100% reheated and soggy, and the shrimp with snow peas and mushrooms were frozen, with veggies from a can. The Shrimp spring rolls were soggy from the cheap oil they were fried in. Do not order from here. These 5 Star reviews either never had authentic Chinese delivery, or are fake.

Not a good choice. The rice was undercooked and everything else was very mediocre.

Good food, prepared fast while you wait. Authentic Chinese food and can be ordered with no MSG. Good parking. Food is not gourmet but is quite good. Good for groups but only take out. In a pinch, you can eat in, they have two small tables.

First time ordering from here and I have to say I was indeed pleased. I ordered delivery and the costumer service was nicely handled, efficiency was on point and the food was great as well. I ordered a large veggie fried rice and a large portion of the Mongolian beef for my husband and I to share and it was just the perfect amount. The price is also great for the portions that you get. I will definitely order from here again in the future!

Best Chinese take out spot in coral gables/Miami. They do deliver for a small charge and they usually get to you by 40 mins max! The service is very friendly. The food is extremely cheap! The chef is an award winning chef who used to work at the great tropical Chinese restaurant. With that said you know the food is authentic!

Went there to grab some a meal for take out and got the chicken and broccoli dinner combination platter to go. The platter brought a fried egg roll, a soup of your choice of soup(either egg drop, wanton, or another option which escapes me), pork fried rice and the chicken and broccoli. The meal came out $ 10.65, which at first seemed reasonable given the portions of food they gave but my opinion quickly changed after I tried the food. The pork fried was made with rice, peas, carrots, and chunks of ham. It similar to the type of fried rice you would get at a mall Chinese food place. I guess it technically qualifies as pork fried rice because of the ham but I was expecting actual pieces of pork with scallions and bean sprouts. The wonton soup was decent but instead of scallions they sprinkled pieces of cabbage in the soup. The fried egg roll was mostly an empty shell with very barely any filling. The main dish of chicken and broccoli was sub par. The broccoli was still somewhat raw and not as tender as I expected. In addition, the cut of chicken they use is cheap like the type used in cheap Chinese buffets.

This is your typical Chinese food joint. Nothing exceptional about it. But with that said it is pretty good and is quite affordable. There are plenty of Chinese food joints in the area but this is my go to. They cook the food incredibly quickly and the portions are pretty large. If you are looking for Authentic Chinese food, this place is not it. But if you want quick Chinese food, you are good to go.

The staff is super friendly, the food is delivered/served super fast, and it tastes awesome. Exactly my type of Chinese, what Americans like to think of as Chinese food. I get lo mein everytime all the time. It’s my favorite Chinese food and here, it’s the best of anywhere I’ve tried. It’s way better than any canton here in Miami and the price is good.

Far and away the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. And I lived down a block away from Yum Yum for a couple of years. This is significantly(SIGNIFICANTLY) worse… — White rice — no salt, tasted like nothing. Soy sauce helped — Wonton soup — could only stomach two spoons full. Tasted like dirty water. Literally. Threw out two bowls worth. — General Tsao’s Chicken — A gummy mess. Also had next to no spice, seemed like minimal salt. Lots of fried gristle though… — Hot oil — Flavorless hot oil was a first for me… — Triple Basil Chicken — The best thing we got. Original and somewhat tasty, but also had an aftertaste that I can only describe as «dirty» and was severely off-putting. I can only hope that I caught them on a bad night, but i’ll be driving more out of my way next time…

It’s fine for fast take out food, really. The other viewers who have said the same are spot on. But, if you like dumplings, their are good, but a bit thick. I tried them years ago, but the thickness of the wonton threw me off. Then I just recently had an order of steamed dumpling a week ago and I realized, thick or not, they were very tasty. So, I will be back, it’s really OK.

Cheap and close. Those are about the two best things I can say. It’s standard subpar fake chinese food, but the portions are large. They also have combo meals that are pretty fairly priced for the large amount of food you receive. I’ve only ever eaten it as delivery, which arrives quickly.

Timely & friendly, Chef Tian Express is a consistent Chinese take-out venue. Hidden among the expensive Coral Gables eateries, it’s as close to fast food as you can get for the area. I don’t doubt the number of University students that must live off their noodles! Although eating-in is an option, this is a take-out operation primarily. A small number of tables are available if you happen to be in a rush and want to eat there, but they are usually for seating in case your order needs a few more minutes. The beverages are canned or bottled, all in the spirit of convenience. To make the most of your visit, get familiarized with the Combination Specials. For $ 10 or less, you can have a plate of a popular entrée(such as Chicken Teriyaki), vegetable, large egg roll, choice of soup(Wonton or Egg Drop), and a pint of ham fried rice. Pay $ 1 more for Chicken Fried Rice, $ 2 more for Shrimp Fried Rice. In terms of overall quality, price, and service, Chef Tian delivers in more ways than one. Call ahead for even fast pick-up!

Tian Express is just the run of the mill Chinese Take-Out joint. Nothing too over the top but nothing to really complain about. It’s cheap and the family that runs it seems pretty nice. All Chinese take out in my opinion is based on the egg drop soup. And there’s has a great consistency and has just the right amount of egg proportion to the stock. Side note: beef teriyaki sticks aren’t that great. But their pork fried rice is the bomb.

In order to appreciate Chef Tian you must order with no expectations. I know this sounds terrible, but the fact of the matter is it’s not Tropical Chinese(despite the chef’s history). It’s a tiny, 3 table take-out/delivery place and for what it is, it totally hits the spot. While I admit the fried rice is consistently under par, everything else I’ve ever had is fantastic. I judge all other hot and sour soups against the soup at Chef Tian and the only one that can stand up to it is the soup at Tropical(no surprise). Bottom line, it’s Americanized Chinese take-out. To quote The Lion King, ‘Slimy, yet satisfying.‘ The staff is always friendly and open with me, but it might just be because I went to high school down the street and frequented the tiny store front with my many compadres. In any case, I like a place that treats its regulars well. You go, Chef Tian.

Neither Meh nor A-OK, id rate the food just OK but with an extra ½ star for being inexpensive Over the years I’ve tried practically their whole menu, mainly because the location is only two minutes from my house and it’s cheap. I always chose take out over delivery regardless of restaurant. I’d describe the cooking as «Schezuan light». A bit light in flavor, very shy with hot sauces, definitely less tasty that I’d expect from a good Schezuan restaurant. However for a cheap Chinese take out it does the job. The food is a few notches up from the the typical American-Chinese Chow Suey– Lo Mein joint and it’s cheap enough. Also, I get the impression Chef Tian uses less MSG and other artificial additives than other places do. Don’t be afraid to ask them to prepare your dish extra hot, otherwise it’s served«½ a chili».

On a never-ending search for good Chinese food in South Miami, we ordered from this place after getting a menu in the mail. We got a sampling of things and overall, I was content but definitely not blown away. The fried rice was a little bland, as was the shrimp and even the sesame chicken! My favorite was the sweet and sour chicken but it was a little mushy. Overall, fine chinese food and it satisfied my craving. I must say though, this restaurant did not satisfy enough to end my search.

Who ever thought a menu mailer would lead to such a pleasant discovery?! Looking for inexpensive Chinese takeout, yet again, we decided to throw caution to the wind and try Chef Tian Express, thanks to a lovely menu we received in the mail that same day. Amazingly low prices — $ 7.95 for a dinner combination of soup, egg roll and veggie lo mein … enough food to last me three meals, at least! BF had soup, egg roll & sesame chicken — $ 10. Veggie spring rolls were a-ok, too. The entire bill came to $ 22, and we have tons of leftovers. Everything was good, and for the price, you just can’t beat it. I wouldn’t say this was the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, but tasty enough, cheap enough and convenient enough to be our go-to Chinese takeout spot, for sure. Thanks for the mailer, Chef Tian! Hint — this place can be tricky to find, but if you’re a Whisk Gourmet fan, you’ll have no trouble — it’s right next door.

Maybe my expectations were unreasonably high, since I went knowing that the owner is/was the head chef at Tropical Chinese restaurant. But the food I got during my one visit here has got to be close to some of the worst Chinese food I can remember having had in a very, very long time. The lady at the counter was extremely friendly. The prices were fantastic. But the food was awful. I don’t think I can bring myself to try them again.
