Our meal was terrible. The wonton soup was flavorless and the hot and sour soup was so gelatinous I couldn’t stomach it. The chicken with vegetables was the worst — very old tasting chicken and the vegetables tasted spoiled. I could have overlooked this as just bad Chinese, but had a glimpse back into the kitchen a few times. It was incredibly dirty. I know restaurant kitchens can be dirty but this was just disgusting.

This place deserves more stars and more reviews! Chinese food is not easy to come by in Miami, but this place is delicious and quick. Good white meat chicken breast and fantastic flavors, what more can you ask for? Wish I took a picture of the General Tso’s I just inhaled, but my hunger took over!

its OK. Has the chicken and broccoli with fried rice… they charge you $ 2 for fried rice which tasted as it was 2 days old. The sauce from the chicken and broccoli was clumpy… needed to get something quick so this is why i went here but would probably not go back.

I didn’t have high expectations — was thinking this would be your typical cheap-y Chinese take-out place. This place was awful. It was so bad I took one bite out of my food and threw the rest in the garbage. The wonton soup was so salty it was hard to eat. The chicken with veggies was gross. The chicken was really chewy and hard. Not like it was overlooked and rubbery it was just so gross and hard to chew through that I dumped the whole thing in the garbage. I would never order from this place again.

The food was fantastic! Beef Lo Mein 2 drawbacks: Ice machine broken & a/c is basically non-existent! Sweating like a pig!

Accidents happen and things go wrong, but these situations can be easily fixed with good customer service. I’ve had an apology or refund really turn a bad experience around, and ensure that I stay a regular customer. Unfortunately, this place doesn’t seem to make good service a priority, and mediocre(at best) food just isn’t worth the hassle. I ordered from this restaurant online and included clear instructions providing my cell phone number to call upon arrival. 45 minutes later, I received a rude call from a restaurant hostess informing me that the delivery person had been waiting 15 minutes for me, and that he is going to leave because I was taking so long to get my food. I explained that I had not gotten a call, and I had no idea anyone was waiting on me, but that I was on my way down. Obviously, I’m hungry. If I’d known my food had arrived, I’d be eating it. When I got outside no one was around, so I called the number back – no answer. A few minutes later, a delivery person came from out of nowhere running with my food. Apparently, he’d been interacting with some«random skateboarder» trying to use his cell phone to contact me, and was in total disbelief that I’d let that happen to him. Then, the guy lectures me for his not being able to reach me through a call box, including a demonstration of his efforts. When I explained that I was not in the call box, he generously informed me that it is my building’s responsibility to maintain my number there. Good looking out. I pointed out that I had given express instructions to call my cell phone. He acknowledged this, and pulled out his cell phone to show me that it was dead. Clearly, that was the source of the issue. Instead of apologizing for ignoring the instructions, the guy goes on about how every single person in Miami is reachable through a call box, and how unreasonable it was that he couldn’t reach me. I had to tell him that it was neither his concern nor his business. I mean really, maybe it’s my roommate’s phone that is hooked up, or maybe I’m at a friend’s house or in another unit, etc. Either way, extremely presumptuous and rude – I shouldn’t have to explain my living situation to a Chinese food delivery guy. I wanted to get back into the building but the guy was awkwardly blocking the door and waiting for me to unlock it, so I hesitated waiting for him to back off. It was an incredibly awkward, confrontational situation. Then, I received some patronizing well wishes to enjoy my food. Terrible. Get a real cell phone. I called the manager to let her know that I was upset with the way her hostess and delivery person had treated me, and she seemed apologetic, and said not to judge the restaurant based on one delivery person. So I pointed out the hostile phone call I’d receive even before the awkward confrontation. The worst part was that the manager did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. I’d already paid for my meal, and I’d already paid for the tip online. No offer or a refund or anything. That situation could have been turned around with better customer service, but I’ll take my money elsewhere.

Really quite good, actually. Obviously you are only ordering here if you want goopy American-style Chinese food. But for fast food Chinese, the flavors here were spot on. The General Tso’s chicken was particularly good. The food was extremely hot when delivered. Also on time. And the delivery guy was exceptionally friendly. Ultimately, it’s expensive for what it is. And the cost factor is enough to keep this from ranking higher.

This is our go to place for Chinese food! Truly authentic Chinese food! We enjoy the General Tso’s Chicken, Salt an Pepper Shrimp, and the Chicken Corn Soup! My daughter loves the Chow Mein and Hong Kong Style Noodle! Hands down some of the best Chinese food in Miami!

This little gem in Coconut Grove is perfect when I just don’t feel like cooking at home. They answer the phone and you can hear the smile on the other end — always so nice. After living in other cities and having great Chinese food places I took it for granted and was pretty much giving up here but finally Hong Kong Express saved the day! The food is off the chain — so yummy in the tummy.

Cleanliness is a key factor in my reviews. So this place is right around the corner from my office and I probably won’t go there again. Very plain and ordinary. Nothing special with the food — it’s actually very«fast food» type Chinese. So I order and the lady says about 5 minutes. Cool. I see her go to the back and start preparing my food. I was like this is a one-woman show. Not a fan of that. So I mention to her I’m not comfortable her preparing my food without washing her hands prior. She did take my money 10 seconds prior and that she should change her habits. She mentioned she did wish her hands which I highly doubt because I never heard the water go on. And, seconds after she went back there I see her put my food on the wok. So I know there was no time to wash her hands. Mind, the place is tiny. I know she didn’t wash her hands. Then, a minute later she I see her finishing my meal with gloves on. So if you washed your hands, why out gloves on after I call you out on it? Doesn’t make sense. In any case, food is very average and not very unique in any way. I was in a rush so that’s why I went. Due to kind of crappy food and cleanliness I probably won’t go back. And please don’t lie to me. I wasn’t born yesterday.

This place was pretty good, we had a lazy Sunday in and wanted some fast delivery. Hubby was in the mood for Chinese(as he usually is, I’m picky about Chinese. I’ve never been a huge fan.) I ordered the Honey Chicken I was pleased to find they use only chicken breast, the chicken was breaded nicely and the Honey Garlic sauce was mellow and nice. Husband had Chicken Lo mein which is what I will order from now on as it was SPOTONAMAZING. Good service, prompt and fast. Decent prices. All in all will def order again.

More expensive than I’d like, but then again, I delivered because I wasn’t feeling well. GREAT portion size though. I’m definitely a fan.

I use to live in HK Kowloon and became familiar with the unique tastes of the local cuisine. Over the course of the 1 ½ years living there I developed a like for the duck when I moved from HK to Miami I then stumbled upon this place where they food tasted surprisingly similar.

well we ordered delivery, it was about 50 minutes. But the food is the real issue. Yes it does seem fresh and yes the portions are decent BUT where’s the flavor? We ordered Mu Shu and Lettuce Wraps, my sons favorites. There was barely any sauce or flavor and both dishes had the SAME flavors. The Mu Shu had no plum sauce and the Lettuce wraps had no rice sticks or lettuce wrap sauce. DRY!!! and Flavorless! The Mu Shu came withthick, packaged, mexican tortillas NOT paper thin rice pancakes. EW! The Singapore rice noodles were terribly dry and flavorless. Not even a lime wedge to wet things up a bit. And the Garlic Shrimp was in a mediocre brown sauce, no garlic flavor in that. pretty disappointing considering it came out to about $ 60 and no one wanted to eat anything. I could only eat it when I doused it with sauces from my house. Not ordering from this place again. Sigh, the Grove is still sadly void of decent chinese.

Grovites, we’ve been begging for an authentic Chinese Restaurant for ages, and our prayers have finally been answered. First Hong Kong Express recently opened in the former Coco Wok location. The owners are from Guangzhou(Canton), and their menu is a combination of authentic and American style Cantonese food. What worked: Shrimp wonton noodle soup. The broth is a little bit salty for my taste, but the container was stuffed with delicious shrimp wontons and loads of noodles. A– Chicken with Cashews: Real Chicken breast, not the slimy over tenderized disgusting chicken mush most Chinese restaurants serve. Cooked perfectly A+ Szechuan Beef-I don’t eat red meat, but my colleague said it was super spicy and delicious A Bean Curd with mixed vegetables. This was actually the only thing that didn’t work for me. I spend a lot of time in Hong Kong and China on business, and this is one of my favorite dishes to eat when I am there. The tofu had the cellulose texture of a sponge, and the sauce was too dark, not the mild savory sauce that most Cantonese restaurants serve. The good news is, that the menu is quite large, so there is plenty to choose from. I also got the sense that they will try to accommodate any requests. Therefore, we will definitely be back again this week for more.
