I normally never think of writing reviews when establishments are good, only when I have a terrible experience, but this is an exception. This was some of the BEST Chinese food I have ever had and it was also super affordable. I’m a food snob and am very picky but this place definitely earned its 5 stars.

I have been here before and it was good, but tonight it was awful. I think there are new owners and they are off to a very bad start. I will not go again.

They serve authentic Chinese and Hong Kong food. Since I discovered this place I always come here. Totally love it. The duck here is great and their SHRIMP wontons too. The servers are great and the place is clean. There is free parking on site and the best part is that it’s affordable, not pricey at all. Best server is called Alberto. Definitely you should try this place!

This review is for the service, not the food.(I only visited because of the glowing reviews for authentic Chinese food, which I have been craving since moving to South Florida from home in California.) We arrived at 9pm, and noticed that the place was cricket empty. There was one couple seated in a booth, and the owner’s kids lounging around the bar. As soon as we walked in to the silence, I was worried. But also starving. We ordered at 9:07pm and she told us 20 minutes. Awesome — gives me enough time to run to the Crown Liquors across the street and pick up a bottle of wine. When we got back, there was now one other person waiting in the lobby for her to-go order. No clue if she called in an order ahead of us or came after we stepped out, but she got her food within 5 minutes and left. Then the trouble started. It’s about 9:30 now. I can overhear all the phone calls from the lobby — two separate women called in because something was missing from their take-out order they had already picked up. One sauce, one rice. Both these women came in, got their forgotten items, and left while we were waiting.(One women was told«you only called me 10 minutes ago, how could it be ready?») The couple in the booth had just gotten their doggy bag and were leaving the restaurant. Still no word on my order, though there is a to-go box sitting on the counter — not mine, unfortunately. At 9:55pm, I called it. I am ravenous, angry, and about to pop open this bottle of wine in my purse to soothe the ache. My SO asked the woman for a refund, which she gave us quickly with a weak«Sorry for your wait, we are so busy tonight.» Somehow, I have a hard time believing that. I will not be attempting to come here again. Though, I’m not opposed to someone else dealing with the service to bring me some flat noodles with beef. Any takers?

Decent Chinese food at a reasonable price. The spring rolls were crispy. I like that they keep the sauce separate when they delivered my food(honey garlic chicken). I did not like their fortune cookies, they were stale. And the delivery did not come with any utensils, which normally wouldn’t be a problem but I was helping a friend move and didn’t have access to any so I had to dip the chicken in the sauce in order to eat it. I did not bother eating the rice with my hands.

Absolutely terrible wait times. The entire place is run by 1 person during lunch. Wait 10 minutes to be seated and wait 5 minutes to place order. Then wait about 30 minutes to get your food.

We enjoyed this meal very much! It was much better than when we ate there in February! My mom and grandma said the egg drop soup was exceptional and I enjoyed everything I had as well!

lol guys I have been living in America for 5 years and opened my Unilocal account for 2 years, never have this kind of impulse to write a review. But Tien Kue Inn capture my tongue and heart. Now, I have to give out my first review as this restaurant surprised me! I give«Tien Kue inn» 5 stars and I highly recommend Chinese, or Chinese food lover go and try this restaurant! I went to Miami last weekend(10⁄30) for traveling, and had dinner at «Tien Kue Inn». We order Royal Chicken and Garlic snow pea. The food are impressive, specially the Royal Chicken. To my knowledge, the Asian food in America is hard to tastes like«origin» due to the water, favor, meat… And this Royal Chicken has 90% tastes like original. I cant say 100%, because I am not a pro food critic lol. However, clearly the chef is professional in Chinese food! His experience and skill definitely can satisfy your tongue!

WOW! For someone who is a native Chinese, I am all about finding authentic Chinese food outside CA and NY, and let me say this is the only place in Miami that serves that! Apparently their chef was hired directly from Hong Kong to work at this restaurant. The flavor is out of the park and tastes just like home. The meat is tender; the dishes are flavorful; and if you are a real eater you can tell how much time they put into marinate/prep their food. If you are into classic Chinese food, this is the place to go in Miami, period.

I used to come here for the sushi buffet, but the change the concept, they have Dim Sum dishes, Cantonese Dining, the flavor and freshness of the ingredients are there. This was a good change, there’s several sushi places around, but not a lot of Dim Sum/Cantonese. They didn’t change the name, but it’s a completely different restaurant. You should give it a try

I arrived at Tien Kue Inn just before 6 on a Monday evening with a friend who was craving Chinese, and we were quite literally the only 2 patrons in this place from the time we arrived until we left. The signage out front mentions a buffet and«all you can eat», but when we entered, there were computer generated signs saying the buffet was closed. We had a look at the menu, were fine with it and decided to stay. As others have said, the décor is a bit drab and lacking and if nothing else could use a bit of updating, but the server was nice and attentive. We got a large order of pork fried rice and an order of chicken wings to share. I thought the wings were good but felt the pork fried rice was pretty tasteless and lacking in flavor. Perhaps a drizzle of soy sauce would’ve helped it out a bit, but I’ve never had to add anything to pork fried rice at any other restaurant just to give it flavor. My dining companion felt both the wings and the rice were sub-par, and mentioned that it tasted as if they may use the same oil to fry everything they prepare. For all our food and a Sprite, the total bill was just under $ 15 before gratuity. We kind of felt forgotten about when we were ready to pay, as we waited at least 10 minutes between the time we were ready and the time our server finally came through with the bill.

I have been using their delivery service for years. Never had an issue. Fast and accurate as can be. Even their delivery driver was friendly as well. After the new management took over, things have changed. My last three orders have been disastrous. The food has been different(not in a good way) and the portions have changed drastically(in a disrespectful way). I really have a thing about stale Orange Chicken when I’m ordering and paying for fresh food. The fried rice I have received has been drowned in soy sauce. Dark and greasy. I would like to add the soy sauce myself to my taste not the chef’s. How can you get this wrong? It’s a shame because this restaurant used to be my favorite.

The place has now been completely renovated as a nice modern dine-in venue complete with bar service. The dishes are authentic with exotic spin on the texture and presentation. I had the roast duck dish, and it’s unparalleled to anything I have tasted in South Florida. Looking forward to returning for other dishes!

Under new management, the exterior and interior have been renovated and much improved. It doesn’t have the buffet anymore, instead focusing on Chinese cuisine. The food selection, portion, service and price are all top notch. I had the Hong Kong style lobster and it was very tasty. Would definitely come back again.

Need cheap and fast? TKI is the place for you. Food is sub-par, but the fact that it’s dirt cheap makes up for it. Delivery is significantly fast if you live within a mile of it, although I recommend picking it up as it will probably be faster on busier days. The restaurant itself is raunchy and I seriously do not recommend dining in as it is a sore sight. It’s been a little hidden delivery gem for those of us which are trying to lighten the load on our wallets. Pros– Decent Food Cheap Fast delivery Cons– Dine in sucks The restaurant reeks of garbage in the parking lot due to open waste containers.

Tien Kue Inn is my guilty pleasure– 4.5 stars. The place is decked out in very unattractive décor and drab paint, and it looks like the type of place you would be afraid to take a first date because he or she would probably end up with a confused look on their face, but the food here is phenomenal– in a somewhat oily, less MSG than most places type of way. I highly recommend the potstickers, ribs, chicken(you can put honey or sweet and sour sauce on them), and cream cheese rangoons that you can get unlimited at the buffet. They are very savory. If you want something healthy, there is salad and peanut dressing sauce at the section in the middle of the buffet over the ice. The sushi section is also nice and comes with variety. The food here easily earns 5 stars because of the cheap $ 11 price, but they just need to fix up the interior. If they gave the place a nice paint job in a base type of color and invited more natural lighting, this place would be one of the best Asian buffets in Miami because it is just so cheap. However, if they did that, there honestly would be no parking because the parking lot is already small as is.

Craving sushi but don’t want to break the bank? T.K.I. to the rescue if you’re just looking to get in and out and don’t care about quality. At $ 11.95 for an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet you can’t expect much. Yes, there is some scary stuff that’s been sitting out for who knows how long but there are a few decent options on the buffet, especially if you catch the rolls right when the chef puts them out. Start with the miso soup and some fresh tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and carrot ginger dressing from the salad bar. Then there is a selection of about 20 – 30 maki rolls and nigiri. All white rice, heavy on the cream cheese and mayo. The rolls are labeled, which is helpful. The dragon roll as well as the eel roll were decent, especially with the eel sauce they serve on the side. There was a tempura fried roll with crab salad in the middle that was also pretty good. It had a funky name that I don’t recall. The eel nigiri was also edible, that was pretty much it for sushi. At the end of the sushi bar(they should put this stuff up front) were wakame salad and a very nice jicama salad. Both were fresh. The jicama was nice and crunchy and very lightly pickled. Simple and delicious. The hot food is mostly crap. Meats aren’t labeled, it’s all breaded and fried and oddly shaped so you really don’t know what you’re biting into. The crab rangoon was decent and there was some nice bright green, crunchy, garlicky broccoli. I bit into what appeared to be a fried shrimp, as it had a shrimp tail at the end but it was some unidentifiable minced white meat inside the batter. It tasted like a mystery mix of crab and chicken. I haven’t had chicken in 2 years(by choice) so that was scary. Desserts are also bad. There is an ice cream cooler I didn’t bother looking into. There was a small selection of coconut cake, butter cookies, strawberry cake, brownies and a mandarin orange cake. They were all dried out and tasted stale, downright rancid, like boxed cake made with vegetable shortening that is well past it’s shelf life. The only edible and actually quite good dessert was the mandarin orange cake, which had a nice citrusy mousse layer. Then of course are the sesame balls with red bean paste in the center on the hot buffet. I love anything sesame, so I had three as dessert. If you’re looking for quality you won’t find it here. You’re better off spending double and heading to P.O.C. where there is a constant supply of fresh sushi and sashimi. But also be prepared to struggle your way through some very pushy obese people at P.O.C. You don’t want to get in their way when they’re hungry! At Tien Kue Inn you pretty much have the place to yourself.
