The service was great. They were very friendly and prompt. However, I give the burger a 3. It was really good, but not good enough for me to crave it and go on a trip for it, that would be a 4. My wife got the chicken tacos. They were a 1. First off, tacos should have corn tortillas, not flour. The chicken tasted like it was boiled, shredded thighs without seasoning. At least salt should be added(the high point of the dish should taste good). The tomatillo salsa was okay, but add some jalapeños or something. Overall, the tacos were flavorless.

Was at the wynwood art walk and knew the truck was going to be there. There are many food trucks and even more food trucks serving burgers but this is different. it had a different look and taste which made it stand out. The burger was decently priced and had seasonings that were unknown to me before, but it was wonderful. If you want burgers but not an average burger give this truck a shot.

This has been a very difficult review for multiple reasons. I like social media and enjoy Unilocal but just can’t understand some of the reviews and comments here and elsewhere … Ill get to that after the review But first and most important, their burgers are second to none, they are juicy and have amazing flavor, texture and its all encapsulated by a very well thought out bun. They aren’t trying to be anything other than what they claim. They aren’t the«biker joint burger» or the $ 65 Kobe burger or some mutant foie gras infused creation at some 5 star Michelin rated restaurant. They took the time to implement an amazingly delicious burger blend mated that with chorizo to give this what is paramount to the best damned burger a good honest buck can buy you… AND they deliver it on a mobile vehicle and do it quickly and efficiently. It’s a clean truck and the staff is nothing but friendly and helpful. Their fries are just the perfect copilot to accompany this burger on the food truck race of Miami. Ok you all get it the burgers are amazing and they have been consistent over the years. Ive been getting burgers here for years now and its every bit as good every time I manage to chase down one of their trucks. I never even thought to give this a review until I went to their new restaurant in Coral Gables. When I went there I have the same exact experience except I didn’t have to eat it standing up or cuddled up in my car. I actually ate in a real chair at a table. I was happy then decided I would come home and write a review. Im not sure where these negative reviews come from. Im pretty rough at times with my reviews but I don’t think any of them are unwarranted. Ive sometimes gone back twice just to make sure I didn’t catch a bad day. I then made my way to Google. There it is… what I can say, looks like the cause What the hell is a Burger Beast? I’ve never done more research while writing a Unilocal review. I now know the entire history of this establishment and it actually gets me upset that these people are bashing this great icon of Miami and burgers. I feel many of the bad reviews on here and the burger beast bashing are all related. How can this Burger Beast be independent when they accept local advertising dollars??? It’s funny because I even went to the way-back-machine to see if Latin Burger ever advertised on their site… NOT that I could find. Great Burger Beast reviews of people who support them with Ad money… YEP. YOU… MYUGLYBEAST… HAVEBEENCAUGHT! Granted some of your reviews are spot on but I think you just can’t have independence of opinion since you not only accept advertising $$ but also have burgers named after you. Do I also sense that you’re a freebie-meal-guy? Now change your tainted and twisted reviews and stop this burger hate. You know this burger is amazing. I saw your previous reviews. So what makes me like this establishment more after my research? Well, I totally respect anyone who gives back to the very community that supports them. I have read article after article about the owner and creator, Jim Heins. He actually created the food truck craze here in Miami. He campaigned for the round-ups and even provided space for the round-ups while promoting what is now one of our most interesting areas, Wynwood. Miami is a better place because of this man. Oh and did I mention he also gives homeless people jobs? We need more people like him. More businesses created by people like him. We as a community need to support this. Shame on you BURGERBEAST!

I have seen many posts confused about food trucks and brick & mortars, Latin burgers and Latin *houses*… with burgers and so on. I can’t say that the confusion surprises me. If it weren’t for distinctive logos, I might be confused. Actually, I *might* be confused. I don’t think I am… but I might be. In any event, what I am getting at is that it’s too bad that in a city with so many options, it’s a little cray cray that similarly named/themed venues exist. Miami… you’ve been warned(again). But if you’re out and about(particularly out and about at an arty event) and see a pink and black truck, stop. Stop right there. If you want to collaborate and listen, that’s up to you. But I’d advise snatching up a pulled pork sandwich and cheese fries. But… isn’t this a burger truck? Should you get a burger? Yeah,(call me) maybe. But, if you feel like going to town on avocados, onion and cilantro piled into an overflowing, juicy and wonderfully seasoned pulled pork sandwich… well, you might just be a genius. And, who doesn’t like looking smart. Fries are always good… unless you can put stuff on top of them and that makes them awesome. Put some cheese stuff on top of these and be awesome. I can’t attest to what the truck offerings are like at each stop. All I can tell you is that if you are trying to get a mack on during Second Saturday and ball on a budget, look for the pink and black. The rest is up to you.

A middle of the day trip to the Design District led me to Latin Burger and Taco. They were set up in the parking lot of a local high school, and at the suggestion of Samantha L., we made this the second leg of our girls’ lunch date. Yes, second — don’t judge! The pulled pork taco was really good. The meat was really juicy and had good flavor. I also had a bite of their Machito burger(the smaller version of the Macho burger) and could immediately tell this burger had a distinct taste to it; it did not taste like a run of the mill patty. This food truck is not to be mistaken with Latin HOUSE Burger and Taco, which has a restaurant on Sunset Drive. I made the mistake of asking the guy why they didn’t have the Mad Love Burger on the menu, and he gave me the 411 on the situation. All in all, decent prices and good eats — not bad!

Dear Latin Burger and Taco, I have always seen your black and fuschia food truck stationed at several of Miami’s community events and food truck rallies, but yet I have never had the willingness to sample your food. It may be due to the strong army of followers lined up in front of your truck or just the fact that I can get a burger and taco elsewhere. However, when I saw your truck yesterday at the DWNTWN Miami Concert Series, I got in an experimental mood. Hmmm. a Ms. Cheezious sandwich or a burger?! I was really torn between these two options, but since my friends were craving a burger, I decided to just jump on the bandwagon and finally order from you. It was really hard reading the large menu at the counter of your truck at night because it was so high and dark, but thankfully you had smaller menus at the basket stationed by the counter that I could read easier. After five minutes of tough decision making, I finally decided to order your burger beast because I was craving a burger and pulled pork sandwich at the same time. And lucky for me, it contained both a patty and pulled pork. However, I have to admit that I was left disappointed. First of all, the menu said it was $ 8, but then I was charged $ 9 which I gleefully paid. And when I finally saw my burger, it appeared rather small, and it was missing that something special – maybe it was missing spice or some sweet sauce, but I cannot give you more than a 3 because I was expecting some extra«pizzazz» from your food. No mind blowing expectations were met. It was just your typical burger. I would like to say that you staff is friendly though and helped each customer process their orders professionally. I am not sure if I would come here again. I see food trucks as a vehicle to offer meals that we couldn’t taste anywhere else, and unfortunately, I feel I could have made this type of burger on my own. It left me feeling that I could have had something more. Oh well, Keith

I love food trucks, especially ones run by a chef and with upscale food. I was a bit dissapointed by the turn out. While it was very good, it didn’t blow by socks off like I thought/hoped it would. We had the 3 amigos to sample all 3 different tacos offered, along with the latin macho burger and fries and all of the sauces offered. The portions are rather small, i could have eaten it by myself and for $ 20 that is an expensive lunch for one. The fries a bit soggy, the tacos sparse in filling, but still good and be prepaired for a long wait the line tends to go on for days.

Pulled pork was okay, but I wouldn’t do it again. To me, a carolina pulled pork sandwich must have the cole slaw on it. There wasn’t anything else wrong, but it didn’t stand out either. Need a better bun. Something that will hold up. Preferably toasted.

Ok so I finally decided to man up. I’ve been reading about the Latin macho burger and decided it was time to grab my cojones and finally try it. 2 patties of chorizo, chuck, and sirloin topped with oaxaca cheese certainly sounded like a delicious food coma waiting to happen. I was expecting to get an unmanageable behemoth of a burger, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the burger was not as big as it’s name implied. It was probably similar in size to a double Shake Shack burger — well within my comfort zone. The mixture of chorizo and beef gave a great taste and a different consistency to the burger — it really reminded me of a Cuban«Frita», but it was a lot juicer. The bread was also soft and delicious. Definitely worth the $ 6. The staff was super friendly and efficient. They worked the tickets like experts which was great since the truck was packed. The wait was not long at all. I will stop here again to try the«Burger Beast» remix of the Macho(pulled pork on top) or to try the tacos.

This truck needs to go back to basics. I’m talking waaaay back to when you learn, as a cook, that you have to use salt. The machito burger was thisclose to being good except that it was DYING for some salt! I liked the bread, I liked the sauce, but the caramelized onions and the beef were not seasoned even a tiny bit! Unfortunately, because of this elementary(just lazy?) mistake, none of the tasty flavors popped. I also tried the pulled pork sandwich which was sweet for my taste. I will give the macho burger one more try and hope they can find time to season the beef.

Ok, everyone is flipping about this place and I wasn’t impressed. The fries were over seasoned and just tasted like cumin. The burger wasn’t really that flavorful, I also was expecting a meat patty and got a pork patty instead, but I guess that’s my fault. The line was long and slow, but the service was with a smile, so they definitely get points for that.

3.5 Stars. My first experience with Latin Burger and Taco didn’t go too well. The 3 Amigos(tacos) were a complete disappointment. Maybe it was a bad day,. as the meat tasted bitter. However, my first visit was not completely ruined as they offered fries as part of a special that day and these Cajun wonders were crispy(fried in peanut oil) and spiced to perfection. Currently, my visits to Latin Burger involve the Latin Macho Burger. Winner of the 2010 Burgie Awards top Burger in Miami-Dade county. Definitely worth multiple repeat visits with a side order of fries($ 8.75 total). I would order water/soda, but for $ 2.00 a Pop… it’s just not right. They are mostly around Biscayne Blvd. by Busy Bee or Shell Lumber down south on the weekends. They also show up to Marmol Exports in Doral for Lunch once in awhile, so that makes me happy as I can fulfill my Latin Macho craving(No Pun Intended). Give ‘em a try.

I finally caught up with the truck one day, and had the signature Latin Burger. It consists of two 3.3 oz. patties of a mix of beef chuck, sirloin and Argentine chorizo, special seasonings, Oaxacan(Mexican) cheese, sautéed onions and jalapenos and a choice of either red-pepper mayonnaise or Ingrid’s special avocadolicious sauce on a sesame-seed bun. The Johnson and Wales University student who was working the grill that day said the beef was 81⁄19. This was a seriously-good sandwich. The beef taste mixed with the spicy pork sausage bits was unlike anything I have had before, and they went great with the cheese and sautéed veggies. There is a lot going on in this sandwich, and it is all good. On another visit I got a chance to talk to the fellow working at the grill, and he put together a hot dog topped with caramelized onions, jalapenos, Oaxaca cheese, and«guachup». The guachup is a sweet and savory sauce based on guavas. I had some before for dipping French-fries in, but thought it a trifle too sweet for that. It worked great on the hot dog, complementing the jalapenos and cheese. Also, they grilled the roll. Another thumbs up. Next we get to the Tacos part of the food truck name. There are three types: 1. Pulled Pork — Pulled pork with chopped avocados, onions and cilantro 2. Chicken Tomatillo — Shredded chicken cooked in tomatillo salsa topped with avocado, scallions and cilantro 3. Chicken Mole — A house favorite topped with chopped peanuts with onions and avocado The Three Amigos special offered a discount for all three, so naturally I got that! These are made with soft, large tortillas. They are rolled-up and wrapped in foil, so the end effect is a lot like a burrito. These were very, very good. The big surprise for me was how good the chicken mole tasted. I have heard about mole sauce for years, and I thought it was cocoa-based. I also have tended to think of chicken tacos as some sort of dietary substitute for pork or beef. Not so here! I have since read that there are many«mole» sauces, some quite dissimilar. I don’t know which kind Latin Burger and Taco uses, but the chicken was very rich and savory. There is also a pulled pork sandwich, «with all the fixin’s». This is not a southern-style, BBQ pulled pork. It has a rich garlicky flavor, and is topped with the Oaxaca cheese used on the burger. Another thumbs up!
I visited again to get a deluxe chicken sandwich, with sauteed onions and jalapenos, Oaxacan cheese, lettuce and red-pepper mayonnaise. Another hit!(this may not always be on the menu) Another new item I had was the portobello mushroom sandwich. This was a marinated and grilled portobello mushroom with sauteed onions and jalapenos and the Oaxacan cheese. I like these sandwiches so much that I bought one of each to take home! I’ve been aware of places offering grilled portobellos as a substitute for meat, but I never tried one. It works, and this version was very good. I highly recommend the food from this truck. The only disappointments I have had were when I arrive late in their cooking session, and they have run out of some items by that time.

Apparently the cupcake business is not the only new craze that is hitting Miami. Mobile food trucks are popping out everyday. Latin Burger seems to have a cult following. Have heard how good this place is by many many people. Never had it because I never followed them on Twitter or FB. One day I heard they were right by my job and missed them. With that said, I decided to friend them on Twitter. Heard they were at Kendall Car Wash and decided to swing by before heading to work. I am glad I did! The cult following is definintely true. There was a line but not something that will turn you away. The owner/manager/sales person was in the front and greeted every customer and asking them how they know of this place and other small talk. Now to the food. I had the pulled pork because thats the type of girl I am. I expected some smokey, bbq-ness sandwich when I ordered it but was surprised to open the foil to gooeyness. They mizzed the pork with one of their speciality sauces and veges and then slapped on a piece of cheese. All on sesame seed bun. I was very pleased with the outcome. The sandwich had a mild tang, which I loved. I can only rate it on what I ate, but if all their food is as good as what my sandwich was then I will definitely find them again.

I was at an college alumni event and we were reminiscing about the two food trucks on campus that used to ease our stomachs after a night of too much keg beer. The next morning, this inspired me to check if Latin Burger was going to be at Shell Lumber, because I knew it was time to give to it a try. Fate had it that this would be the day I finally tried Latin Burger. After reading many other reviews prior, I decided to go with the burger and fries. Maybe I will give the tacos a try, but honestly the reviews hadn’t been too good. I got my lunch quickly and brought it back to my office to give it a try. The Burger — The two patties of beef were a little overwhelming at first because unfortunately they lacked some flavor. The chorizo was virtually unnoticeable in the patty. I ended up taking one patty off as it was just too much meat. The avocadolicious sauce was good but not spectacular and the caramelized onions added a nice texture. The Oaxaca cheese was also barely noticeable. Overall, the burger was good enough, but tasted much better burping it up over the course of that afternoon. Fries — Crispy, hot, and fresh, with plenty of cajun spice on them. Favorite part of the meal for sure. Diet Coke — $ 2 for a can of diet coke is completely unreasonable. My recommendation to Latin Burger would be to park off Washington Ave. from 12 – 5 am on the weekends. Like those food trucks in college, these burgers would be much better after a long night out!

I endured a month of bootcamp in order to be able to indulge myself at the end and eat this so-called«succulent» burger I had heard so much about. Well, let’s just say it was a waste of my hard burned calories! I agree with some of the other reviewers who say there’s too much hype around this truck, thus making my expectations pretty high. They were finally around my neighborhood when they dropped by Shell Lumber so on Saturday my hubby and I treated ourselves to the Macho Burger. It’s a combination of meats which include beef and pork, together with jalapenos(which I barely tasted), grilled sweet onions and their avocado sauce(which were quite yummy). They serve you two patties but I think it’s way overpriced at $ 6.25 a piece for food out of a truck. As I bit into it, a wave of disappoint spread over my face. I found it lacked real flavor. It was very under seasoned and I found myself having to add more of the avocado sauce to make up for the lack of flavor. I asked my hubby what he thought because maybe I was being too critical and he said the same thing. The fries were nothing out of this world either. I haven’t tried the tacos and I’m not sure I would. All in all, the burger was okay. Definitely not worth saving myself after enduring a month of bootcamp. I still think 5 Guys is the burger to beat… at least for me it is! Now off to endure another month of bootcamp!

I was fairly stoked when I found out Latin Burger was going to be in the area close to where I work, so I HAD to make the trip. I pulled up to the parking lot to find no line, which was a plus. Although I’d already heard good things about the pork taco from other Unilocalers, I wanted to get a sampling, so I opted for the 3 Amigos. I could only eat two of the three tacos for lunch(the pork and chicken mole) and I was quite a fan of the pork. The other chicken tacos(chicken mole and chicken tomatillo) were both good. I definitely was a fan of the sauces that were included. Given the back story of Latin Burger, I definitely think it’s a great concept. I just don’t know if I’d go out of my way to plan a lengthy trip for the food — maybe if there were a few more menu options. But if it’s in the area I’d go back. With that said I still think it’s worth a try, especially for those who’ve never had their food on wheels.

The burgers were tasty. It’s really all in the beef patty — the chorizo mix definitely does wonders! PROS: + great tasting burger(thanks to the meat patty, caramelized onions, and sauces) + made fresh(could be a wait) CONS: — the buns aren’t anything special — store-bought it seems? — $ 5.75 is a little hefty for a burger this size? A more filling and massive Colombian burger usually go for $ 5. I overlooked it though, since the patty is better than any other I’ve had in a Colombian burger. — the guy that handles money also touched the buns — for a «gourmet» truck, I thought it would be more sanitary — the guy that handles the money seemed a little amiss? He forgot my avocadolicious sauce. :(But the burger was good without it, regardless.

I caught up with Latin Burger in the Design District for lunch. They were parked in the lot behind EQ3/Bardot. When I heard they were heading into my work hood, I could barely contain my excitement. There wasn’t much of a line when I got there, so checking out the menu and ordering were a breeze! I even got to chat a bit with the owner, Jim, while waiting for my lunch. I opted for the 3 Amigos Tacos, with the pulled pork tacos, as they came highly recommended by fellow Unilocaler Ramon C. And they definitely did not disappoint! The pork was tender and cooked to perfect, topped with a little pico and a little guac, and it was perfection! 3 tacos was actually too much for me, so I saved one for a mid-afternoon snack. A great lunch for under $ 10! Now that’s a steal! I can’t wait to return and check out the other tacos, and the burger!
