Honestly this place needs more stars than just five. A Nice French restaurant, with an optional tables on sidewalk… The service is really good, the owner always take care of customers and the most important: the food… If you want to try a real rack of lamb you must come to this place, also the duck is excellent, sea bass is really good too… At the end you can’t leave before try cream brûlée or hot Crepes with Vanilla Ice. This place is not expensive, two people with bottle of wine… Around $ 120 Definitely one of my favorites

We visited Miami for the holiday and my sister made the reservation for the Christmas Eve dinner at this place. We ordered veal, lamb chop and duck and I can tell you these are as good as they get, because I ordered them often at the French restaurants where I came from. If you like ducks, the flavor is great. We took the leftover duck out of the fridge the next morning without heating it up, it still smelled so good, my daughter would not let anyone else have it. My princess sister and her family ordered Foie gras, Escargot, ribeye steak and beef tartar, I’m not the expert of these dishes but they tasted great too. The restaurant is family décor so it was soothing and I felt relax. The most important thing is that the food and service was great, and it was the perfect ending for the Christmas Eve after spending quality time with my dearest as well as meeting some cool new friends.

My hubby & I had no idea where we were going to end up because it was 3ish and many restaurants in the Gables close until dinner. We walked in and were greeted very warmly by the manager and thus began an amazing afternoon. The food, wine and ambience were perfect, highly recommend.

I decided to have a date with my husband in this place. My fist time and I already thinking to comeback, like all French food, you won’t regret it. I love the escargots and the veal. I have to come Again.

We had reservations, and in spite of the fact that there were empty tables in the front of the restaurant the owner insisted on making us wait for a table for two by the kitchen. This is the second time we have had this issue at this restaurant. We left and we won’t be back again… Ever. Plenty of outstanding French restaurants in south Florida, no need to put up with bad management.

Walking down Miracle Mile, we took a chance on Le Provencal. We found the service to be excellent without being cloying and the food superb. My husband tried the French onion soup and declared it the best in the Gables. I had the duck. Meaty and not greasy. Yum. Meanwhile, my husband raved over his lobster ravioli in pesto sauce. Nice sized portions, we shared the crème brûlée dessert. Worthy of a French restaurant. Ambiance is a 3 out of 5, but the food is so good this will become a regular spot when we want to spen an extra dollar or ten.

This place is amazing. Not only is the food extremely authentic, but the stars here are for the staff. It doesn’t take an expert of French cuisine to know that French food is probably the least vegetarian friendly food you can think of. I came to this restaurant with my friend and told our server that I’m vegan. She immediately accommodated me and even had the chef come out to ask me what vegetables I like. I ended up eating a beautiful, colorful plate of veggies that were absolutely delicious. My friend had escargot and LOVED it. This place is truly wonderful.

The food was excelent. The manager was a delight. We sat outside and it felt just like France. I will definitely go back to try the inside and promise to report.

Caro. Nos atendieron bien, el filet mignon estaba bueno y el foie de pato caliente Muy bueno. Pero entre el tiempo que tardaron en servirnos y el coste final de la cena, me ha inclinado a poner 3 estrellas.

Scallops cooked to perfection! The food here is well prepared. The staff are friendly and attentive. It is a classic standard menu, pullin’ no punches. I had the chocolate mousse for dessert, and it was delish.

One of the best traditional French restaurants in the Miami area. From the amuse bouche to the dessert, the quality of the food and service is almost flawless! They offer a 3-course meal for $ 39 and the traditional ala carte menu: my two friends chose the 3-course meal while I chose ala carte. We began with a bottle of chilled rose(Whispering Angel from Provance) and a creamy crab spread offered as an amuse bouche. I then ordered the chicken liver mousse-light and full of flavor. We followed that with lamb, salmon, and a savory boullabaise. Everything was perfection(except the salmon which my friend prefers on the rare side, but she still loved it). We ended dinner with floating islands, chocolate mousse, and aromatic coffee. My only critique would be that when I went to the back to use the facilities there was a table of linens or towels(?) for sale; seems out of place in a restaurant, but the attention to detail from the wait staff and the delicious food will keep us coming to Le Provencal for years to come.

Excellent food. The duck and the lamb are flawless, the price is a bit much but that’s the mile for you. The absolute must is the chocolate soufflé for desert, been back just to pick it up for dessert

Lovely ad Provençal home cooking — 3 course lunch and it was great value and delicious. Confit de canard and crème brulée were perfect. Great casual dining place with friendly service.

We just ate here to celebrate a special occasion. Location was picked by another member of our group. Food was solid, and cooked not poorly, nor average, nor excellent. It was, um, fine. Simply: Fine. The service was poor, extreme poor. Like I wanted to get up and serve our own tables. And it was not that busy. There are better options on this street. Choose those.

We vistited here on a lark, the only free parking space on Miracle Mile(I know know it is a Miracle to find parking(ha ha) until I learned there is a huge parking garage one block over! Just look for the Yellow Awnings. We were delighted. The Service was just so nice, the Eggs Benedict was über delicious and the fruit and presentation was French in its Glory! Sitting outside you notice all of the wonderful details, from chairs, to table, to the sweet flowers on the table(trimmed for us right before we sat down. how nice!) All in a nice Blue, French accents are so well appointed. I went there for her, to give her a bit of French Coture and we were so content, we ended up just talking for hours and relaxing. We ended up enjoying Café A’Laut and it was delicious. We sat outside and enoyed Miami’s Weather. Inside is just as nice and very well appointed. I definately am going back to explore more of their Cusine, this is a place to Visit, Relax and Enjoy!

The soufflé is extraordinary! Not a «lava cake» like most restaurants serve. A true airy, light and delicious soufflé. If you have never had a real French soufflé this is the one to try.

I decided to check out this place after a friend told me they have a great french onion soup. The inside décor is a bit outdated and not so welcoming. It was too dark inside for my liking. At about 1:30pm on a week day there were maybe 1 or 2 more tables sat. We sat at a small table for two outside. The waiter was attentive and helpful at offering good wines. I chose their house sauvignon blanc-Sancerre. It was light and crisp, which I enjoyed. They have plenty of options on the menu to choose from. We wanted to try different things on the menu versus getting just one entrée. We began with an order of french onion soup each. On the menu it is lasted as «Onion soup gratinee w/cheese.» I am a big fan of french onion soup, but was not impressed. I do have to admit the escargot was on point! It was cooked in a buttery, garlic sauce which was excellent. The next appetizer was the salmon tartar w/pineapple & salmon carpaccio. The salmon tartare was rather fishy and the carpaccio wasn’t great either, though it was presented nicely. I wanted to give this place another shot with dessert and got the french version of the apple pie with vanilla ice-cream. The pie didn’t seem fresh, which was disappointing and at that point I was still waiting for the french version of it all. I had such high hopes for this french restaurant, but unfortunately the service is better than the food. Prices: Sauvignon Blanc: $ 12 Onion soup gratinee w/cheese: $ 7.95 Escargots in garlic butter: $ 10.50 Salmon tartar w/pineapple & salmon carpaccio: $ 14.95 La tarte tiede tatin a la mode(apple pie): $ 7.50

If you’re in the market for an authentic French food tour-de-force, there are no losers in this restaurant’s game. Native northern Europeans have confirmed for me that the menu offerings are, genuinely, French. I dined here tonight for the first time in three years, and it continues to offer an excellent experience. We opened with the escargot appetizer, and a bottle of wine, both of which were solid. Next came a small complimentary gazpacho for each of us, followed by a salad with a mustard seed-based dressing, which were a refreshing interlude before the entrees made their appearance. My rack of lamb(and sauce) was, seriously, divine. My date used to work as a chef at a Ritz Carlton hotel, and agreed that the lamb was expertly prepared, and mouth-watering. The sideshow to the lamb I rate as follows: vegetable mash and roasted tomato were delicious(and well-presented), while the potatoes were fair. Her lobster ravioli met with our approval, but was outshone by my lamb. And, then, there was the Gran Marnier soufflé. I’ve ordered this the last three times, and it consistently hits a home run. Just remember to order it at the begining since it takes some time to prepare(20 to 30 minutes). Throughout the evening, we were well-attended to. Each dish was delivered as the last was finished, suggesting that the kitchen has food-prep efficiently locked down. Other posters have mentioned bad experiences because they did not have reservations. We walked in without any pre-arrangements, and had a great time. NOTE: there is a hidden treasure on this menu which I discovered a while back, and fondly recall relishing every bite of: True North Atlantic Dover Sole. Most of the ‘sole’ fish available is from the Pacific. Le Provencal’s dover sole is the variant generally caught in the Eastern Atlantic /North Sea, and, apparently, air-shipped fresh to the restaurant. The fish is cooked whole, and presented with panache: the waiter brought me the cooked fare on a stand separate from my table, artfully fileted it as I watched, and served the meat onto my plate. However, get ready for sticker-shock. It was $ 48 when I enjoyed it long ago, and was told that it was currently priced at $ 64 earlier this evening. But, if you’re looking to throw caution(and money) to the wind, this is a meal you won’t regret. It is admittedly pricey, making this more of a ‘special occasion’ venue. But for those occasions, it delivers. I recently recommended Le Provencal to a friend to celebrate his wedding anniversary. He and his wife were surprised, and thrilled. They said it was romantic, and confirmed that the food and service is very good. Don’t come here with a group of 10 looking to party and carrouse. DO come here for a date. All the hispters may not be eating here, but whoever IS eating here knows good French food. Restaurants, high and low, come and go in Coral Gables all the time. Le Provencal has been in business for probably close to 30 years. For the right occasion, I love this restaurant.
