dr hevia had been taking care of me since he resided at another well-known practice in the area, but has long since been out on his own. and i think he’s a great doctor.(and his office is gorgeous). i initially saw him for botox as a referral from a trusted friend. and this was my very first cosmoderm appointment ever. probably 8 – 9 years ago. we did mostly standard treatments but i felt comfortable and trusted him enough to let him try uncommon/unconventional(see below) procedures and even a new product or two. he advised that he thought my 11s(glab) lines might be too deep for botox alone, i.e., without filler, but wanted to start conservatively. which i not only agreed with but appreciated. i had a botox treatment and was encouraged to come back based on how i was instructed the results should look. so a few weeks later i returned for a results assessment and complimentary touch up. unfortunately that touchup dose set the new baseline for my treatment which was well outside my budget, but something i was advised of. what dr H called the sticker shock he indeed tried to caution about. after a 3rd dosage, i agreed the botox alone wasn’t enough and opted to explore filler. i was advised about juviderm, restylane and a few others including the permanent silikon 1000. i was clearly advised about potential positive and negative effects of using a permanent filler but opted for it anyways. all these years later i am still relatively pleased with the results namely because of all the $$$ it saved me on the cost temporary fillers every 6 months. the downside is that my body produced an overabundance of collagen stimulated by the silikon injections(i had 2 or 3 services for REALLY deep 11s) and though for many years, the filler remained flush, over the past several, it slightly puffed out convex. eventually requiring at least two scalpel shavings and subsequent healings – though painless and with no scarring whatsoever. all barely noticeable by most naked eyes(but my own) and only to be caught in shadows or angles(except for my eye). dead straight on you can’t even notice. so that’s the definite upside. would i do it again, to be honest i’m not sure. i would not however, recommend this procedure for chin frown wrinkles under the lip area(mental creases) as i got no result whatsoever after two treatments and now am beginning to see that same convex puff out as i did in between my eyes that i’m going to have looked at. dr H also did minor restylane fillers elsewhere on my face: mouth frown-good; nasolabia folds – good; tear troughs – good, ATFIRST, then the treatment stopped working and created bags that had to be dissolved with whatever substance works on restalyne. {**note: i tried the same treatment twice at a different office(i had dual residency) and the same thing happened. i probably will not get under eye filler again}. i also had a now discontinued filler done on my lips. the fullness result was good; the eventual bumps they created was not. this was at the time when dr hevia was leaving his previous practice, and was on hiatus then in transition due to non-compete agreements. this was the only time i couldn’t get the service(s) i needed. but i fully understand the whys and held no «grudges». i ended up getting the remedy at his«old» office by a well known dr. we had to wait for the solution to leave my body, which took forever, about a year and i was in there every three months for follow up for about a year until i said, enough, its time to fix this. finally i was eventually provided a complementary restalyne filler to make up for it. and after that dr hevia came back on the map so i resumed with him. as with any treatments of this nature, science goes only so far and art kicks in. some things worked famously, some did not. however, i was always duly advised and felt the same, and was comfortable following recommendations(and i’m super skeptical if not cynical) and any time we(i say we cause i always felt and knew we’re in it together) didn’t get the desired result, corrective action was swiftly taken no questions asked. this to me, when you’re dealing with deviations/variations and unpredictables, is they key. experience can only predict expectations so far and the one thing i wll say is that all this was communicated thoroughly and openly. i never felt duped or blindsided when things didn’t go up to «par» as realistically should be expected, namely with unconventional procedures or new products. dr hevia is a great dr! he’s really good at what he does. he’s attentive, responsive, curious, truly interested and concerned. i only wish he operated at a different cost model scale(which is why i gave 4 not 5 stars). but hey, when you’re great, you can command that kind of money. and i for one would never begrudge that! he’s professional, friendly, accommodating,(so is his staff) and confidently humble. i indeed recommend.

Okay. I was hesitant to write a review about this place due to the nature of my visits, but here we go. Confession time. I am a Hispanic girl. And I have hair in places I’d rather not have hair. THERE, I said it. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, can I just say how awesome this place is? I’ve only been here for laser hair removal, so this is the only thing my review reflects. These people are so good at what they do. Granted, I don’t have a huge basis for comparison, but I was very impressed by how professional and courteous the employees are. They really calmed me down the first few times I went to zap hair off my face and underarms. As someone with an extremely low tolerance for pain but a lot of unwanted follicles, this was a big deal. They always do a fantastic job of making sure I am there with ample time to get my numbin’ on before the zipzappin’ starts. Thank you for existing, guys. Maybe I’ll be brave enough to do other areas eventually… but until then… hurray for no more shaving the pits! Looking forward to retiring my razors in the future! :D One tiny little star off because I’m not a fan of metered parking in general… although I think they validate parking. I dunno. One day, I’ll get over my parking issues…

In contrast to the other review, I had an amazing visit at Dr. Hevia’s office. I went to see him for the bags under my eyes. They didn’t charge me a consult visit because I did the procedure. I initially went to him because he came highly recommended by some of friends. I saw results by the first week. I came back for a follow up and it was a night and day difference. The before and after pictures are ridiculously awesome. I highly recommend him.

Had a pretty horrible ‘0’ star sort of experience with this doctor and his staff after the very first visit. He gave me a custom cream for my face(created in their office) that caused a bad reaction of patchy spots on my face after using it for one night. When I called to tell them about the reaction I had from the cream the very next day after the appointment, the receptionist, after speaking with the doctor himself, came back on the phone and said: «It’s not the cream.» That was it. They did not ask me how I had applied it, or request that I come in so the doctor could see the reaction. I asked for a refund for the cream which they initially refused, then said they would render but the check would take 30 days. The check never came. I followed up a few times but they said the person who issues the check was not in and she never called back. Overall was really disappointed and shocked by the lack of care they took with me as a new patient. Dr. Hevia seemed very nice when I met with him in person, but when a problem arose just one day after seeing him, he and his team were evasive and unwilling to help. I also lost the $ 200 I spent for the first visit(which they said could be applied to future treatments) since I never went back.
