I am so very happy they put this restaurant in the old location of Miami’s best pizza I was upset at them first because are used to love Miami’s best pizza but I went today for the first time and it was a great experience. From the gorgeous Decour inside the restaurant to that plate of fried chicken I had today did chicken was flaky juicy tasty and excellent I had a meal consisted of a breast and oh and I wing fries as a side and a side of watermelon salad all did I forget to mention the greatest biscuit I ever had I don’t give it five stars because I don’t think I fried chicken going deserves five stars do you want to downsize to this restaurant the line it has the I strongly recommend this restaurant if you’re near the South Miami area

As I dine in the skeleton of a once-great establishment of miami’s best pizza, the current usurper fails to even come close to the legend that once existed here. I know that pizza and fried chicken are apples and oranges, but the quality of food and customer service is troubling –the chicken sandwich is ok, but if you’re in the mood for a fried chicken sandwich, do yourself a favor and go to Shake Shack or Chick Fil A. This sandwich was greasy and sloppy –very slow and inefficient customer service. –We waited 25 minutes for a milk shake, and when it was finally ready, it was the wrong flavor –they substituted a Caesar for a House salad without telling us they were out of Caesar salad –they substituted our order of waffle fries for regular fries, again without telling us –when my husband went to go speak to the manager, they were already being berated by another unhappy customer … #disappointing

Ambience is nifty. Place will probably survive on the novelty factor alone(and its affiliation with yardbird) and i could certainly see UM kids hanging out there. But our meal came out to a whopping 27 dollars for one blue plate and a few sides. Drumsticks were anemic. Chicken sandwich was cold and uninspiring — nothing the local kfc or chik fil a cant deliver at a fraction of the cost and the sides left a lot to be desired from a brand new joint — cold mac and cheese with gummy pasta and no flavor… potato salad that was hardly mixed together. Service was pleasant and not intrusive. Still, im certain ill never come back. Everyone raving about this place must have investments tied up in the stock market with these guys… or maybe they’ve never heard of shake and bake?

If you love Swine and Yardbird, this place is a must! We ordered the mama’s chicken biscuits, a grilled crispy chicken sandwich and waffle fries. The mama’s chicken biscuit, has a pepper jelly that is very unique and the biscuit is a little small but very good. Even though the chicken is fried, it’s not too greasy as other restaurants would make them. Also ordered a fresh squeezed lemonade, normally I’m not a fan of unflavored lemonade but I’d have to say it was very good. Not too sweet or tart. Once you past the line to order your food the service is rather fast, only taking around five minutes to receive our order. Overall, this place is amazing and great for a quick bite to eat! I’ll be back for more soon.

I came here on the first day and was impressed overall. Instantly, before walking into the restaurant itself, the ambience catches the eye. The outside décor is very attractive with colorful flowers and nice wood tables that blends in with the whole scene. The food is very tasty, ranging from the perfectly tender and crisp fried chicken biscuit sandwich all the way to the fresh and authentic sides(I ordered waffles fries and the mac and cheese — both delicious). The kitchen looked both clean and organized. The staff and management were both very professional as well as helpful and friendly. 5 stars for this new and upcoming restaurant.

Chicken is just like at Yard Bird(same owners) but for an affordable price. The mac n cheese was delicious. For some reason we didn’t get waffle fries, but just regular fries. Wth? But they were also pretty good. The biscuits could have been a little better but all in all good. They really did a great job with the renovation. The place I beautiful.

I went to the grand opening and thought that it was a disaster due to not even getting to taste the chicken. I gave it a 2nd chance today and couldn’t have been happier. The line was really long but, the cashier(Kaitlin) made sure it went fast. I ordered the Country Club Chicken Sandwich(grilled). I added avocado to it as well and had a side of Mac and cheese. The food came out within 5 minutes. The chicken was just succulent and the bread was banging. I almost wet my pants when I tasted the Mac. Good job guys! I’ll definitely be back.

Second time visitor since the opening on 01.28.16 and I must say that I’m a fan. Service is a bit slow and I believe this is due to the high volume of visitors so I’m sure the speed will increase as crowds die down and they kitchen gets into the flow of things. Needless to say the Food is delicious. I’ve tried the cob salad with crispy chicken, mac n cheese, waffle fries, yardbird sandwich, biscuits are out of this world. Today I had their fresh squeeze lemonade made to order… Delicious. The only reason I’m giving them 4 starts are due to the prices of their menu items. The food is really good so you get what you pay for. Other than that it’s a great place to try.

I was very disappointed to learn that their chicken is fried in lard, taking the majority of their menu out of contention for those of us who don’t eat lard. I opted for the Backyard BBQ pulled smoked chicken sandwich, which was very good. Smokey and moist, plus crunchy from the cole slaw. The crispy onions were a waste, as they were soggy. The waffle fries were served room temperature, so I brought them back. They came out again at room temperature. When I returned them again, the manager behind the counter challenged me by saying they had just come out of the fryer. I told her to feel them. She declined and brought them back to the fry station. After she spoke with the fry cook, I saw the cook hold a stainless steel bowl up to a heat lamp for a few minutes. When I got my fries, they were hot but mediocre.(Later in the meal, a different manager visited our table to check on our experience. Someone from our group mentioned that his fries were cold, too. The manager took them away and returned a few minutes later with fresh fries, too hot to handle, and they were significantly better. They were not delicious, but they were at least acceptable.) Other items we tried: Caesar salad(pretty good), mac & cheese(great), biscuit(great), corn muffin(great). I tried to order a milkshake, but they were not selling them at that time for some reason. A few words about service: they had only been open three days when were there. The line was well out the door. Aside from the manager who tried to convince me my fries were hot, the crew did an amazing job. The female crew member expediting at the front counter was knowledgeable and efficient. The bussing crew in the dining room were friendly and helpful, and considering the nonstop flood of customers, the dining room was very clean. I hope they will consider ditching the lard and replacing it with a vegetable-based shortening, but until then, at least they have a satisfactory option to eliminate the veto vote.

I made my way out to newcomer on the South Miami block Spring Chicken yesterday for lunch. As soon as I heard of their opening I was excited, already salivating at the thought of Yardbird chicken. Spring Chicken has the same masterminds behind it as Yardbird and Swine so I just knew it was going to be good. It is only a few days old so as you would imagine it was packed, a line outside the door packed. I still made the line and within 20 minutes I was at the register placing our order. I gaze at the menu and notice mama’s biscuits, could these possibly be the same delicious ones I get at Yardbird? I just had to order them with some honey butter for the taste test. I then went with the Yardbird sandwich as that is their signature item, some waffle fries, a small macaroni and cheese(to share with the hubster) and a homemade lemonade. The sandwich is decently priced at $ 5.95 and for the most part everything else on the menu is too. About 15 minutes went by and our buzzer went off, our food was ready to be enjoyed, and boy did we enjoy it. The biscuits were exactly what I wanted, soft moist inside with a crunchy exterior, perfectly buttery, honey butter on the side for extra buttery sweetness. YES they were just as delicious as the ones at Yardbird and this makes me happy. The sandwich was delicious, being that it’s made with chicken thigh it’s more moist than chicken breast sandwiches, the seasoning and the perfect fried exterior is reminiscent of its sister chicken from Yardbird. The waffle fries unfortunately were underwhelming, I kind of feel that the oil wasn’t changed or they weren’t very freshly fried as they had an odd crunch to them. Their mac n cheese though is on point, delicious blend of cheeses with a little crumbly topping. Lemonade was good, tasted homemade, not overly sweet. Overall I think this is a great addition to the South Miami scene, I am looking forward to going back and getting the chicken sandwich in biscuits next time.

So excited to be able to review during opening weekend! As fans of Yardbird we knew kind of what to expect and we’re not disappointed. The line was out the door the whole time we were there and the décor was sweet and Southern. Our order: Mama’s chicken biscuit sandwich(a HUGE chicken thigh and flaky biscuit, perfectly balanced by tangy pickles and pepper jelly), Yardbird sandwich(another huge thigh, perfect crunchy breading that seemed light), minted watermelon, waffle fries(they were your average fry), Mac and cheese(good but nothing outrageous), and a rich, chocolate milkshake. The house made hot sauces were exceptional, try them on the watermelon! I will definitely come back for the chicken biscuit, one of the best I’ve had! Prices were great, so excited to have affordable Yardbird chicken nearby!

The sister restaurant of YardBird?! Wow, I am amazed! Great customer service and what we ALL like, Mouth Watering — Great Quality Food! I waited in line for about 20 minutes, but got my food less than five minutes from ordering. Best Wings and if you love carbs like I do, YOU have to get the biscuits with the honey butter! I was in Nirvana the whole time. The FOOD is just amazing! Great experience and I will be a loyal customer and bring all my friends here! Best Fried Chicken, Best Waffle Fries, Best Mac & Cheese, Best Biscuits, Best Food in town!

Aside from the small parking lot, from the moment I walked in I loved this place. Everything about it says Pinterest, the décor is awesome and unique. Flowers on the tables, a few couches, signs/menus that look like chalkboards, and even a wall with open cook books as piece of art, etc. Not only is the atmosphere great, the woman who took my order was very nice and kept a smile on her face. Thanks Samantha! As for the food, I ordered the natural griller, mac n cheese, and a strawberry milkshake. Loved it all! I couldn’t even finish my sandwich because the food is just so filling. I left feeling satisfied, but not so full to the point that my stomach hurt. I’m sure I’ll be returning to try more off the menu!

Food is decent, service was good, atmosphere was fast casual. Aesthetically pleasing but price not commensurate with value. I paid $ 60 for a family of 4. Two in my party were still hungry after all the food was eaten, but waiting in line for another 40 minutes to order more food was not an option. The fried chicken was good, but it didn’t have that wow factor. The smoked chicken bbq sandwich was good too but I would have called it the coleslaw sandwich instead. I didn’t see any bbq. Mamas chicken sandwich was alright(the pepper jelly gave it a kick.) My favorite item had to be the macaroni. It tasted homemade and was sprinkled with breadcrumbs giving it a nice crunch. I might come again in a few months.

Chicken! Get your chicken here girl! This chicken is legit! The batter is delicious, its moist and perfectly cooked. The Mac and Cheese is on point, waffle fries are nice and crispy, and the biscuits with honey butter are a great addition to the meal. My husband got the chicken sandwich and he rated it better than the shake shack one. The perfect finally, a birthday cake milk shake with actual pieces of cake in it! Nice seating area to eat in but chicken stands up well if you decide to take it home as well! Cant wait to go back.

Yardbird comes to South Miami! I have been not so patiently waiting for Spring Chicken to open since 50 Eggs first announced the concept early last year. Yardbird is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Miami area, but living in Kendall it has always been a mission to drive all the way to South Beach just to eat. Thanks to John Kunkel and 50 Eggs, now I can enjoy the best fried chicken in Miami in my own neighborhood. The entire restaurant is built around Yarbird’s famous«Llewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken» recipe and includes a lot of favorites from its parent restaurant, such as the chicken and biscuits. I ordered the two piece dark meat blue plate meal, which included a thigh and a drumstic and came with waffle fries and watermelon. Everything was to die for and the chicken was tender, juicy and full of flavor. I topped it off with a side of breaded Mac n’ Cheese, which is a must order if visiting the restaurant. The vibe was also great. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive and went out of their way to answer all of the questions we had about the menu. We ate outside in the patio area and the southern rock coming through the speakers really set the mood. This is now by far my favorite fried chicken joint in the 305. It is extremely affordable and still maintains the quality of food that all of the 50 Eggs restaurants are known for. I can not wait to try the rest of the menu!

Tender, juicy, crispy and flavorful… I mean that’s what fried chicken is supposed to taste like right? I had the white meat plate with watermelon and waffle fries. Loved the pairing with the watermelon — so delicious. Service was great… although they kept asking if ine thing or the other was ok. Being that this was their grand opening I didn’t hold it against them. Beautiful modern relaxed atmosphere and the couches were a nice touch. Especially love! the restaurant entrance piece! Definitely coming back and I can’t wait for their Fort Lauderdale location to open up. We’ll be closer to them then!

My coworkers and I came to check out the place during opening day. I have to say the owner of spring chicken is the nicest person ever! Not only is he nice but also very attentive! Loved their chicken sandwich and he recommended their shake of the month! The birthday shake! It was absolutely amazing! I work across this establishment so I will come back for sure again to try their meals with that watermelon! I have to mention the décor! It is honestly gorgeously adorned ! So lovely! Will come back!

I was invited for the grand opening, and I’ll be coming back for the drool-worthy chicken. Chicken salad burgers, fried chicken burgers, grilled chicken burgers… Their milkshakes are rich, their sweet tea is fresh brewed, and I could go on. But the vibe is what makes this place. Sure, it’s in baby stage, but 50eggs went all out. From the live country band, designated dance floor, patio space, cozy and inviting tufted couches, mason jars, and the vintage décor, this is definitely a place I see myself after a long day. Bonus! They’re donating a percentage of their opening proceeds to United Way of Miami-Dade. What’s not to love about Spring Chicken? I hope this place lasts!
