Nothing special about this place. BBQ is average. Drink specials are very good. Service is good very attentive.

Pretty good barbecue with neighborhood feel. I went there for the first time 30 years ago. Glad to still have a local unpretentious BBQ joint in this neighborhood.

I always recommend this location! Used to come here for years as a little girl! I love little hole in the wall bbq places! COMECHECKITOUTFOR A MOMANDPOPSBBQSPOT

The place is like an old«hole in the wall» place with ½ doors for — window and various things crammed together in a small space — very typical of old-school country BBQ. But you would come here for the aesthetics… you’d come here for the food! The corn on the cob came out first by itself and was freshly grilled and served in its on platter swimming in butter! YUM! The coke slaw was sweet and tangy — the best ever! The rids are HUGE and come un-sauced on a bed of fresh hot fries and grilled fresh bread. They have a sweet BBQ and a homemade smokey molasses that they keep warm for you! Draft beers are cheap and served in a frozen glass. Come hungry and leave stuffed and happy — or order take out! My only complaint is I wish this place was closer to my home! :-)

Unfortunately can’t vote less than 1 star. We called our order in, repeated it twice, had her read it back. We still had items missing. We were told 20 min and arrived a few minutes early. Our order was not even placed yet! Waited almost an hour. The food was NOT worth the wait. The side of sweet potato for $ 6 tasted awful. Was cooked in some kind of vinegar. The chicken over the sweet potato platter was equally terrible. The sauce used for the chicken had no flavor. The French fries were soggy. If you must go here, order the ribs which were dry but ok or order the bacon burger which had more flavor. Won’t ever eat here again. Bad service. Bad food.

This was, by far, the worst«BBQ» we have ever eaten. We ordered food for 5 people, which included: full rack of ribs, cheeseburger, chicken, brisket, sweet potatoes, Cole slaw, bbq beans, corn on the cob and«Texas toast». Let me break everything down: — the ribs were dry, tasted slightly burned(like they were a day old) and were anything but«fall off the bone». — the brisket was extremely saucy, which feels like I drank a bowl of sauce with chunks of brisket — the chicken was bathed in BBQ sauce and shoved on top of a sweet potato but had no flavor. Even worse, they covered it with cheese and forgot the bacon — the sweet potatoes lacked the sugar glaze the menu brags about and they tasted like they were broiled in vinegar(zero sweetness) — the French fries were all soggy and stale — the burger was the only descent-tasting item, but unfortunately we asked for it without cheese and onions and it came with both Lest we forget the Texas toast, which was more like a slice of Cuban bread with barely any butter or seasoning. Overall, the food was of poor quality. But even worse than the food was the service. They told us it would be ready in 20 minutes and it took more than 45 minutes. The staff was arguing with the cook and everyone was yelling at each other. I recommend you not eat at this place. Just go somewhere else.

After being used to Texas BBQ, this place was a disappointment. The baby back ribs were dry and tough. The brisket was bland and tasteless. The service was not very friendly. I had not been to an Uncle Tom’s since the 70’s when I ate at their SW8th St store. I did not have bad memories of that but his new place is just not good…

The spare ribs were delicious, corn on the Cobb was also a good choice. Sweet potato fries were a little soggy, but I did order to go.

If you’re a Miami local chances are you’ve heard of Uncle Tom’s BBQ. You’ve also heard that they have changed management… I gave this place a 2nd opportunity being that the 1 wasn’t that great. . I’m I glad I did… the food this time was great. Large portions and great friendly staff… we will definitely come back…

We went for our Teacher Appreciation luncheon and the food was really good. I had the pulled pork, corn on the cob and fries. The portions are very generous and we had fast service. We’ll be visiting again soon.

Look, the renovations were successful. The look and feel of the place is great. The staff is friendly… But… It’s the worst barbecue I have ever, ever, ever had. After waiting 25 minutes in a virtually empty dining room after being told it’s take no more than 5… The brisket was effectively wet roast beef. It smelled and tasted old… almost, and I hate to use this word, but… rancid. The chicken was dry. The baby back ribs were tough and flavorless. The regular barbecue sauce was fine, but the other sauce, I have no idea what it was, but it was effectively sweet-ish jell-o… And that too literally made me gag. The mac & cheese was penne pasta with a splash of cheese sauce, topped with a sprinkle of cheddar. It was all just bad. Oh, and they forgot to pack my cole slaw and beans. I was hoping to love it, but… I very much didn’t…

Having been born and raised in Miami, I have driven past this place ever since I was a little girl and my curiosity about it has increased lately. Today I finally tried it and I must say that, although Uncle Tom’s is apparently under new ownership, they definitely delivered. There is clearly a laid back, casual, atmosphere throughout this place. The inside is much smaller than I imagined but it is clean and welcoming plus there are plenty of tables out on the patio area as well. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. I came solo so I sat at the bar and was promptly attended to. Started out with the street corn. I couldn’t find it on the menu but ordered it as per my fellow Unilocaler’s pictures. It was absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked sweet corn on the cob smothered in a special sauce and cotija cheese. Not being that hungry, I thought if I ordered a baked sweet potato it would be small enough. OMG it was HUGE! Stuffed with a mountain of pulled pork and cheese, I definitely had A LOT of food leftover. The pork itself wasn’t too flavorful but it was tender and juicy. Once I smothered the whole thing in BBQ sauce, I was a happy camper. Thanks to the ultra friendly and welcoming staff, I will definitely be returning to Uncle Tom’s soon for some of the more classic BBQ menu items and will update my review as necessary.

The food wasn’t the best, same as the service. The kitchen was very slow and this was a Wednesday at 3 pm. Not a place that I would come back specially not at lunch or late at rush hour. Conclusion: food wasn’t good, service not good either and even the drink that I ordered that was a Pepsi was flat. I do not recommend this place at all.

After having moved in to the neighborhood, I brought my little helpers here to replenish their energy with beers and BBQ. First off(since I’m so picky about service), the staff here is extremely friendly and welcoming. They were super attentive throughout our entire meal and made some great recommendations. We had our eyes on the baby back ribs but the server told us the spare ribs were better; boy was he right! My advice, don’t spend the extra money on the baby back ribs… get the SPARERIBS! The spare ribs are so much meatier and juicier. The baby back ribs are okay but a little on the dry side. We also ordered the brisket platter and shared all three things. The brisket portion was kind of small but it was tasty. All platters come with fries and coleslaw. For an additional charge we got loaded baked potato and baked beans on one of the platters. Beers were cheap! Considering the fact that I can walk to this place from my new apt, I am pretty sure I will be back.

The staff that works in this location is a shame for this establishment. Me and my partner were taking a friend who had never been here before. We had a terrible experience as we walk in at 9:30pm and one of the staff members kicked us out because the kitchen was closed. Even though the restaurant is open until 10pm. As we walk out we saw a waitress taking an order for a table of +8 people. We left disappointed, saw some other cars getting there and parking. Too bad for this great bbq place in miami. Hope they can improve their customer service.

I’ve always passed by, but never had a chance to try it. My mother and I were driving around starving so we decided to give it s shot. It’s a small kinda cozy setting not good for groups. The staff is attentive and friendly. I ordered a pulled pork Mac and cheese and my mom got s spare rib platter. We also ordered onion rings for an appetizer. I do like that they don’t give you overwhelmingly large portions. Onion Rings: Mom liked them, I didn’t. These onion rings had a thick fluffier batter. I prefer mine to be crispy. I ate a few that the batter was not fully cooked. Pulled Pork stuffed Mac and Cheese: So good. It’s a small casserole dish with a layer of mac and a layer of pulled pork then another layer of mac. The pulled pork was well seasoned and soft and the mac super cheesy. I really enjoyed this specialty platter. Spare Rib Platter: Not the best around. The ribs were not very tender and definitely were not barbecued, they tasted smokey and the consistency of baked ribs. We ordered two baked potatoes to go, the have some specialty platters that are super loaded baked potatoes. Cheddar Jalepeño loaded with bbq and sour cream. Pulled pork loaded with cheddar cheese bbq and sour cream. This is not the spot to go to for authentic BBQ you will be disappointed. They have wonderful specialty dishes that I recommend to try. Great customer service!

If someone would have told me 10 years ago that I would be walking into Uncle Toms tonight and much less given them a 4-star rating, I would tell them they are insane. Yet here I am, praising this restaurant that used to scare me. Boy has this place changed! This major overhaul, my obsession with BBQ, and the fact that I moved nearby is what brought me here tonight. My boyfriend ordered a half BBQ chicken with sweet potato fries($ 1 up charge), my daughter got the kids baby back ribs, and I ordered a full rack of baby back ribs to split with my BF. For appetizer we got mozzarella sticks(my daughter’s favorite) and our wonderful waiter, Marcell, convinced us to try the cornbread. Wow what a treat! That cornbread could easily be part of the dessert menu. It’s that good(and that sweet). Our food arrived pretty quickly and smelled amazing. My ribs were super meaty and falling of the bone and the seasoning was sooooo good! We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese but it was meh. We didn’t try the chicken because the ribs alone was enough to fill two people so we took it home and try it for lunch. This is NOT the Uncle Toms I envisioned. Definitely recommend them as one of the best BBQ joints Miami.

Tucked away off Le Jeune and 8th Street– my expectations were low, but the service(Ian) and the food were both great. I had the BBQ chicken, a side salad and cole slaw. The chicken had a real woodsy BBQ flavor. It was hot, juicy and hit the spot. Just about perfect.

I hadn’t been here in years. Since it was newly remodeled we decided to give it a try considering we live a few minutes away. What a disappointment! I’m not sure if it’s because they we’re having an «off» night, but the food was not impressive… at all. The ribs we ordered did not fall off the bone. We ordered a side of Mac and cheese which seemed like it came from a box and was really greasy. Our dessert seemed like boxed pie. The corn on the cob was the only thing that was good. I don’t think we’ll be giving this place another try.
