Great service, I mean really really great. From the second my boyfriend and I walked through the door all the way till the second we left the staff was so attentive and nice. Food: delicious! We had the fried green tomatoes, ribs, Mac & Cheese and cookies for dessert. Can’t wait to go back!

First, been twice. Just superb. Second, if you don’t order the fried green tomatoes with pork belly, you’re a fool. Third, stop reading these dang reviews and go pig out immediately.

We got there at 640pm and were seated right away. However, we NEVER received the Happy Hour menu. I asked the server if I can order something off of it at exactly 650pm and he said«you just missed happy hour». So I went online to see what the Happy Hour hours were. It says 4pm-7pm online. What really made me upset was people came in after me and even sat next to me(of course had a different server) who ordered off the Happy Hour menu. Looked at my watch and it was 745pm. I was there celebrating a birthday with my best friend. Would’ve been nice to order other items. If I do go back, I will ask not to have that server. Was very disappointed when every other table(at least 4 tables beside me) was allowed to order off the Happy Hour menu all the way until 745pm. On a positive note, all the food we ordered was fantastic. They just changed and took off some items on the menu. They took off Burnt Ends. Sad :(

Definitely a nice little spot to stop at. We had the beef tips for appetizer which was good. For dinner my husband had the brisket with mac and cheese and I had the pulled pork sandwich. The brisket was delicious, the pulled pork sandwich was okay, nothing to special. For dessert we had the caramel cake which was not good. The overall ambiance is relaxing and the customer service is top notch. I would definitely come back and try something different.

This is not a bad place to eat, however if you have eaten here a number of times you will notice that some of the food that used to amazing is not so amazing anymore. They recently brought in a new chef who made some changes to the menu. One of the changes was to the swine burger. The bun is different and they no longer server the steak fries! The steak fries were the best and now they have some skinny fries and I’m not the biggest fan. Additionally, My friend ordered a side of the fried brussel sprouts and they came out not fried at all. Instead they were steamed with pickled red onion. I don’t know if that was another change but the menu still states the fried brussel sprouts, so I’m not sure if that is a change the chef made, if it is, another bad call on that change as well and the menu wasn’t updated to reflect that. Another note, if you order the brisket steak and eggs, it’s no longer served on a skillet and the hash has been changed as well. The hash is now very thinly grated potato with cheese on top, it didn’t have much flavor and didn’t taste as good as it did before. Brisket is still good, though. Service as always is great and everyone is very attentive, and I always have like every server I have had there. Would I still visit? yes, but it will be one of my first picks for Brunch on Sunday? not sure anymore.

Love this place. Food was amazing. A bit pricey but we are worth it. Valet parking heart of Miracle Mile.

Start off by saying… Really great staff. Greeted with a smile, asked how many in our party and went as far as asking if anyone had any food allergies. Décor fits the style of food that is served. Great place to have a nice outing with family or with your girls. After being seated, we ordered the cinnamon bun(delicious!!) and they gave us complimentary mini muffins. The waffle and bacon was excellent, the omelet of the day was wonderful, the only reason for the four star was because I wasn’t really happy with my dish. I ordered the pull pork over grits but the taste of the vinegar was too much and if I had known it came with gravy… I would have asked for none. Overall, I will come back because it really was a nice experience. 4 and ½ stars.

Oh Swine, how much I love you. This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in Coral Gables. Before we get to the food, let’s start off with their specialty drinks. I’m a hard liquor kind of guy so their Swine Old Fashioned is perfect for me, although their Blackberry Bourbon Smash is amazingly refreshing. The best part is that both of these are on their happy hour menu(weekdays 4−7PM!!). Now their menu is family style so the plates are made to share. However, they make the plates sound bigger than what they really are. That’s pretty much the only reason I give this place 4 stars instead of 5. Perhaps I just enjoy their food too much where I feel I can finish it all on my own. Either way, you may want to get an extra«fixin»(side) just in case. The best dish on their dinner menu? The 14-hour smoker brisket!!! It is so tender and flavorful, you’ll be sure to enjoy it. Pair it up with their mac & cheese and homemade cornbread and you’ve got yourself the perfect meal!

It was a good day to enjoy Coral Gables restaurant week, so we picked Swine. Upon entering the hostess had us wait as we did not have reservations however there were empty tables. Breath. I imagine they have to manage for rush hour lunch I’m sure. Moving on we did advise her we were on our lunch(1) hour and would prefer a good server to get us in and out.(we know this is mostly managed by the kitchen) Let me get the food out of the way. I had the following: Spinach Summer Salad — very good Gulf Rock Shrimp Po Boy fried — Shrimp had no flavor and the baguette it was served on was very hard Dessert — did not try, its in the car My guest: Watermelon Gazpacho — very flavorful Nashville Hot Fried Chicken — was amazing, the right amount of hot and super juicy Dessert — Still in the car in the take away bag The service is why they only get 3 stars, and this is our second time here. The amount of time between courses just took forever. Then one server came by to gather the dishes from the first course and laid the silverware directly on the table.(who does that) I had to actually ask for a new set of cutlery. Then it took quite awhile to get the check. Restaurant week is when you shine so people who are trying your restaurant for the first time will be enticed enough to come back for full price and bring friends along. With many other choices around this will be last on my list for a repeat.

Great food! I’m not a newbie to Swine as I went several times when it first opened for dinner. I had never done their brunch before though and it was my first visit during that time. Please note: Brunch is my Favorite Meal of the Week so I’m a particular type of judge. I’ll start of by saying for not having made reservations and it being packed, we were seated right away to my surprise. It was exciting to see that unlimited mimosas & Bloody Mary were back! We ordered the chocolate waffles, brussel sprouts, granola cup and OFCOURSE the unlimited mimosas. The food was great as usual although and service was nice. We felt a bit rushed through! I understand they were busy but even before my friend was through with her granola twice they tried to pick it up from the table… We ordered a second carafe seeming as though we were catching up and enjoying our time despite the pressure to move along and our server almost seemed annoyed. We will be back but hopefully the staff realizes although we understand perhaps you’d like to get people in and out; people are out and attend an establishment for an experience…

I’ve been wanting to eat at Swine for a few years now, but since I get to Coral Gables rather infrequently, the opportunity did not arise until today, the start of Coral Gables Restaurant Week 2016. The restaurant’s décor is what one might expect from a Southern-themed place – lots of wood, some drinks served in mason jars, brown paper wrapped tea towel napkins, fresh field flowers – you get the point. I do want to return to one aspect of the décor, but food first. After examining both the regular menu and the restaurant week menu, my dining companion and I opted for the regular menu. The restaurant week price did not seem to be much of a bargain considering that we otherwise would not order dessert, and because some of the items were not things we would have ordered on our own such as Watermelon Gazpacho which though probably delicious did not appeal to us today. One waiter took our order, and so began the long wait for my cocktail called the Old Cuban(rum, lime, mint, splash of sparkling wine). I like to sip a cocktail for a few minutes before the appetizer arrives, but in this case the fried green tomato appetizer beat my drink to the table. By this time we had a new waiter who apologized for the drink delay. The drink was delicious, and I half regretted not being at the bar alone staring out the window and sipping the afternoon away one cocktail at a time. Maybe another day. The fried green tomato starter reflects a lot of thought. Under each slice of fried green tomato sits a dab of tomato jam whose sweetness offers welcome contrast to the salty pimento cheese mixture spread the top. The real star, however, is the slab of seared pork belly atop the pimento. I liked it so much that I ate it and the frisee crown first on their own, the pimento slather a bit thick. After scraping off some of the cheese, I then enjoyed the tomatoes. The pimento and cheese flavors absolutely do work with the dish, but the ratio of cheese to tomato threw off the balance of flavors here. That said, I believe that this was a problem of execution rather than conception, and therefore would love to try this again. Service issues resolved, the timing between appetizer and entrée was perfect. My dining companion and I shared the Meat+3, with ribs. There are a few meat and side choices in the Meat + 3 option, but the cornbread is a fixed side, so the diner chooses two of the three sides, which for us were grits and Brussels sprouts. First things first – the ribs were beautifully smoked and sparingly sauced, just the way they should be. Pickled onions and cucumbers were perfect with the luscious pork. Creamy grits served in a small cast iron crock are worth trying for those who like grits with cheese. Brussels sprouts were the only disappointment. They were soggy, as if they steamed in the too crowded pan, yet when bitten into felt hard and raw. Service problems resurfaced when after our table was cleared and we asked the server for our check, we waited a terribly long time for it, and then again for someone to collect our payment. I finally took the check up to the hostess who ran my card and got things moving on that front. This last topic might seem strange for a restaurant review to consider as it does even to me, but I feel that I must mention it. Along the north wall of the downstairs dining area, there is a series of large framed black and white photographs of images of the old South. One photo depicts prisoners doing agricultural work under the supervision of large man on a horse. The prisoners in the background are wearing black and white striped pants, and in the foreground stands a row of shovels rising out of the ground as a further reminder of captivity. This photo stared at me throughout my meal, and dining across from it was unsettling. On the one hand, chain gangs are part of history, and history no matter how sad must be preserved. Whether a restaurant otherwise designed in an upbeat way(a few of the photos are joyful) is the place to preserve this history is a question worth asking. Maybe the point of placing this photo here is to remind diners that behind the wonderful food they are eating lies a history of injustice and pain, and that this cuisine grew out of that against all odds. Then again, some might feel hurt to see human suffering offered up as a decorative element. All of that said, I do hope to visit again on my next trip here. There’s a lot to like about this place.

We absolutely love coming to eat here since they opened up! It’s located in Coral Gables so it’s a nice drive for me and my family from Homestead. We have been here several times, so this post will cover our visits! The décor takes you to a place in Kentucky or Texas with the brown woods, plush high leather seating, low-light turn of the century light bulbs and the smell of smoking BBQ in the air. I usually get the Ribs as an appetizer and I love how they stack them(cross wise). The Deviled Eggs are divine! Yes pun intended… the yolk filing is piled high and seasoned perfectly. Their use of Bacon in the entrees, drinks and desert’s is legendary. The chef inspired dishes and presentations is inspiring. Live music on the weekends upstairs and a family atmosphere below is a great mix depending on your company. My foodie friends and I rave about the Hamburgers! A great Burger for anytime lunchtime.

This was my fourth time dining at Swine, however, it was my first time for brunch. I’d always wanted to try the Bacon & Waffle, and had had good experiences here before, so I figured I’d give it a shot for brunch. We started off with the Sticky Icky Bun and Swine Hash, along with the cool complimentary muffins they bring out. Honestly, the Sticky Bun and Swine Hash were probably two of the three best dishes we ordered. The mixture of flavors in both dishes was perfect, and I definitely recommend both of them. For our main plates, we ordered the Bacon & Waffle, the Pulled Pork Sandwich, the Pulled Pork n Eggs, and the Brisket n Eggs. I was a bit let down by the Bacon & Waffle and Brisket n Eggs plates, as the meat portions of each plate were pretty small especially for the price, but the sandwich and Pulled Pork n Eggs were great. If I could, I’d probably give this review 3 ½ stars. The kitchen ran out of eggs, making our wait for food longer than it should have been(though the waitress offered a free glass of wine for compensation). The appetizers were better than the main dishes. The Swine Burger is still the best thing on any menu Swine offers. They have potential, but need to make a few improvements.

LOVETHISPLACE! I am usually very picky in regards to «southern» food because Florida is not the south and generally chicken and waffles is the default staple for a «southern» menu. However! I must say the service of the staff here meets southern standards– super nice team here. I came with group of 4 on Saturday for the derby and was there all day! I had a great time, we loved all of the shared bites we got, and will definitely be back. Great environment, and loved the transition from day to night with the wide open windows in the front. I recommend this place for groups and if you’d like to post up and wine and dine for a few hours. TL:DR Tapas style southern with charm.

REALAUTHENTIC Slow Cooked BBQ! Amazing flavor; large portions; incredible sides & appetizers. We started off with the Burnt Ends, which are served over a special thick white«gravy-type» sauce. Then ordered the full slab of ribs and the brisket with a side of Mac & Cheese and corn bread. I highly recommend sharing, in order for you to sample several different menu items. Everything was spot on. The nice décor, the ever-present strong smokehouse aroma and great ambiance, sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

Peering through the front of Swine quarts of wood are stacked up against the glass. Entering you definitely can tell there is something special about this place. Rustic, southern feel with unfinished wood paneling and brick throughout. Even the place smells of Oink — the good kind anyway — sweet hints of smokey, maple bacon BBQ. I was not surprised then to see on the menu that this was the house of worship to porcine pursuits. Seated at the bar, I was sold on the lunch special which was a grilled cheese with pork belly brisket, fried green tomatoes and a fried egg which also comes with a side salad. The manager said jokingly as he was placing the bourbon bottles back on the shelves, «it’s fat free too!» To which I chuckled, retorting«like everything else on the menu!» He also said that it was a hit with the staff so he knew that it was something special. Linen service was top notch and the plate my order arrived on was also pretty. Wedge wood I wondered? I was also provided with some house made BBQ sauce which looked thick and handsome, the taste was something from another world. The grilled cheese was cheesy greatness, an American cheddar. The bread was grilled to perfection on both sides. The pork belly was crispy with a soft center melted perfectly in your mouth as the rest of the ingredients. And each bite was deliciously paired with the home made BBQ sauce which looked like it had some chili peppers in there but didn’t appear to be hot. The salad was well a salad but also very good. All in all a great grilled cheese sandwich. One thing I was surprised about though: the restroom was a single use and for the size of the place I would think it might have more stalls. Nevertheless, I didn’t have to wait but I could see how this might be a problem on a busy night.

My friend has been eyeing the all famous Swine burger for months and we finally came to try it. It did not disappoint! 4 of us all got it and we unanimously thought it was YUM! While $ 18 for a burger is pretty steep in my book, I’m glad I tried it. It’s super moist, but didn’t come off as overly greasy, and has a nice lean slab of pork belly to top off TWO burger patties! Talk about indulgence and gluttony! The steak fries that came as a side were excellent, and came with a spicy ketchup that added a nice kick. For starters, I had to get the fried green tomatoes, which are the exact ones they serve at their other restaurant Yardbird. So delicious and beautifully presented. I was not a huge fan of their cocktails, I tried the water blossom, blackberry bourbon smash, and an old Cuban, the latter which is super strong if you’re into that stuff. And as for the décor, I’m absolutely in love with the wooden interior. It’s so chic and rustic, and I’ve seen nothing like it in the Miami restaurant scene. The whole vibe of the restaurant is pure fun and excitement. Our server was great too, very personable and friendly. I would definitely come back and try more items!

** Swine is always a delicious experience, although going for my birthday lunch — it wasn’t as smooth as we expected, however amazing service made up for everything ** I love this place because it delivers real BBQ flavor in Coral Gables. Not something that I grew up experiencing regularly. While its not a casual, roll-up-in-your-sandy-flipflops casual, its not fancy, just a bit more upscale with attention to design and ambiance being part of the experience too. The food was great as usual. I ordered the burnt ends which I always get. However I found a large hard piece of plastic in it. Unfortunately the mixing bag for the portion of creamy cornbread they prep before hand made it in the mix and I was very unhappy obviously. The one time I have a serious issue with a restaurant I really enjoy, and it had to be my birthday of all days. I was ready to change my opinion on the place but management swooped in and had a new burnt ends sent out to me. I think every single manager on staff apologized for the mistake by the kitchen. They made the mistake known to their managers right away, and it was explained to me with the utmost urgency. I was impressed. But the food! The brisket is always amazing here. Tender and full of flavor and meaty juiciness. The swine old fashioned is one if my favorite drinks in Miami. It’s the perfect balance of smoky and sweet. The brussels sprouts side is always great. The mac and cheese is okay. Cornbread is pretty good. Overall its mostly about the meat. I tried the pork shoulder and it was very good. A portion of it had tightened up and felt a little overdone, but it was mostly tender and very flavorful. I’ll go back because I know I can rely on them for solid bbq and if I ever have an issue, I know I’m in great hands. For restaurants in Miami especially, great service makes you stand out. Swine has some of the best service I have encountered in the city.

I visited Swine for brunch on Sunday and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and similar food selection as its sister 50 Eggs restaurant in Sobe, Yardbird. Swine expands over a two story space with exposed brick and firewood on display. As opposed to Yardbird, there wasn’t a line of people waiting to get seated at Swine. I tried the Pulled Pork n’ Eggs which seemed like a bunch of things on a plate but turned out to be quite delicious and filling. It sits over their signature ground grits which taste like polenta. Warm Sticky Icky Bun was a server’s must-try item and I couldn’t agree more: this roll isn’t bathed in cinnamon; cinnamon is only used to accentuate the flavor allowing you to taste all the other ingredients. So, as you can probably tell, Swine is perfect for a low calorie day, not! Our server was attentive at first but as the restaurant got more crowded, she seemed more distant. Regardless, Swine certainly stands out in the Coral Gables restaurant scene and I’d recommend it for brunch.

I had Swine bookmarked for a loooooong time & finally got to try it out. I have to say, it lived up to the hype. We went to celebrate a birthday so we were a group of eight. Luckily, we had made a reservation because the restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived. The décor is very warm & inviting. It had a log cabin vibe to it that made me feel like I was somewhere far from Miami. We got sat at a high top close to the kitchen & got a first hand look at all the behind the scenes food prep. Our server Robert was welcoming & helpful with the menu. We got a few drinks & appetizers to get started. After an hour or so the main courses came & everyone was in their own personal food heaven. Everything we had was fresh & tasted delicious with very few exceptions. I can’t say there was anything bad. The Mac N Cheese was good, but not great. I wasn’t a big fan of the grits. The burn’t ends were the crowd pleaser by far although about 25% of each piece was pure fat which I could have done without. The purée’d cornbread was something I’d never seen done before & it doubled both as a sauce for the burn’t ends or its stand alone dish. I went with the Swine Burger for my entrée. Although I could not order it Medium, it was done right & had a lot of great flavors. My only gripe with Swine is the high prices. Not everything is priced out of the ball park but an $ 18 Burger, $ 18 Burnt Ends App, $ 28 Brisket adds up quick! I guess it just really comes down to what people are willing to pay for certain types of food. I know the location alone speaks volumes for what price point is to be expected so that is fair game. Is the food excellent? Yes. Is the staff friendly & helpful? Yes. Is the ambiance on point? Yes. Is some of the food pricey? Yes. Would I eat here again? Yes, but only if someone else is picking up the tab LOL

Came here with my girls for happy hour. It was my second visit and it wasn’t as great as the first, but none the less still tasty. The happy hour menu was alright, not the best. Granted the food is supposed to be small bites, but the deviled egg was literally only one egg… womp womp. Anyway the drinks were good and I don’t usually like bourbon. For the food, the burnt ends were not like I remembered them. They tasted a lot like BBQ sauce, smothered. The fried tomatoes were really good. The chicken wings on happy hour were also very good, but you get 2 -.-. The Mac and cheese was amazing. My girlfriends both had the burger and devoured it. Overall this place is nice for a night out, I would recommend.

Visited Swine recently with some friends for Happy Hour and had a lovely time! First of all — I read somewhere online that Swine has $ 3 biscuits during Happy Hour. This is not true! I(obviously) don’t hold that against them, I read it on an article that was not on their own site — I’m only mentioning it as a warning if you’re also going to Swine /for/the biscuits. Despite our biscuit misunderstanding/our obvious sadness, my friends and I had a great time at Swine. The place is adorable and our server was great! Nothing at all to complain about in those respects. The Happy Hour was pretty good, too. We tried all of their Happy Hour drinks(I thought the Old Fashioned was definitely the best) and a few plates off of the food HH options. We decided on the chicken wings and the pork rillette with toast. I thought both were fantastic, especially the rillette(the wings were great — I’m just not really crazy about wings in general though). We also had the mac and cheese and thought it was good. Definitely would suggest it. Of course, you aren’t getting thaaat much food(and to be fair, we split three small dishes three ways so of course we were still hungry at the end) but for the quality and experience, I’d say it is certainly worth it.
