Took my step sons for lunch on Halloween. We were excited to try this new place. Great concept — definitely kid friendly, with board games and large tables. However, it was FREEZING. I had asked the server if they could adjust the temp or let us move to the outside patio. She awkwardly said she would speak to the manager, then returned saying that they would raise the temp. Older boy(12) was still shivering. Took our order in 2 parts, and I had to ask for someone to return to take the second part. Youngest(8)ordered Mac & Cheese with party fries. He hated the mac, even after salt and pepper. Oldest and I both tasted it, and it seemed bland but not bad. Oldest boy got short rib grilled cheese and loved it. Would order again without the horsey sauce. I ordered a Buffalo chicken grilled cheese and it was delicious. Sadly, because they took so long with the order itself and the food, we had no time for dessert. That was disappointing. We may try again on another«Daisy Day». Gave 3 stars because the sandwiches were yummy, and the loyalty program paid for one of our lunches. I will say that the owner, after processing the in app coupon never asked how our experience was, nor did he thank me for my business. Definitely not the best experience, but we left full.

Usually when I enter a restaurant and 75% of the tables have dirty dishes on them, I leave but we’d never been there before so we decided to stay. We grabbed menus and sat down among the dirty tables to figure out what we wanted. Once we figured it out, we placed our order and sat on the other side of the restaurant with dirty tables on our left, behind us and in front of us. We ask them to be cleared which eventually was granted. Now, I admit, I am a germaphobe, so some of the stuff that turns my stomach may not even occur to others. When I went to get our beverages, I noted that all the cups were wet and stacked on top of the other. Cups can’t properly dry that way and its one of my pet peeves. On the way back to the table, one of the food runners was entering the kitchen and there was a bus tray full of dirty dishes on the floor. Knowing this, we asked for hand wipes to clean our hands because I could only imagine what the restrooms looked liked. The food was plentiful, well presented but rather bland. My husband said his burger had no flavor and the chips could have used some paprika. The mac and cheese had no flavor so the food was just«meh». We could leave it. For dessert to be their speciality, we found the«tongue depressor» to be nothing more than and eggo waffle, with a cold brownie and freezer burned ice cream with a weird after taste. I think the condition of the restaurant made this a fail from jump. The staff is playful, dressed in street clothes and rather non-chalant especially about keeping a clean environment for guests. These perceptions are not good for a food establishment, so hopefully they will see these reviews and take them to heart if they want to stay open longer than the place they took over, changed the name and set up operation. We won’t be back.

Went here for dinner on a Tuesday for dinner with the family(By the way kids eat free Tuesdays). My kids loved it and they loved playing the board games available for them of course. Service was good had no complaints and the cashier was very patient with me because I couldn’t make up my mind with all those choices.(she also recommended some dishes). I was impressed on the kids meal. one of my boys had the cheese burger which was a big burger and my other 2 boys had the tenders. Loved the mixed fries very different from other places.(they mixed 2 different fries tator tots and chips on a basket) My wife had the short rib grill cheese which she liked but she wished there was more meat in the sandwich and it wasn’t pressed in the waffle maker. I had the Chicken bacon ranch avocado Cheddar waffle. very filling a lot of food and quality was good. Dessert was awesome. My boys had free ice cream or a cookie which was free with the kids meal and a good amount. Cinnamon toast crunch ice cream was very good. I had the 3 scoop banana Brule Sunday. WOW the quantity and Quality was great. I did not think it was going to be as big as it was and it was very very good. They did not have a lot of the flavor ice creams we wanted and they Really need to serve some sweet tea. The unsweetened tea was not very good at all. overall I am a fan I will be back. I really hope they do not disappoint as some places tend to do when you go back a few more times.

My family and I visited this restaurant Saturday afternoon. We looked at the menu and were excited to try something new. My stepmom’s friend ordered the prime rib waffle, my stepmom ordered the honey mustard burger, and we ordered my little cousin the kids’ cheeseburger. I myself didn’t eat anything because I had eaten prior. The burgers came out lukewarm, and after attempting to eat them, their appetites died halfway through. Her friend thoroughly enjoyed the prime rib waffle. On Sunday night, THEYWEREALLSICKVOMITINGANDHADDIARRHEA. My stepmom and her friend had to call out from work and my cousin missed two days of school. If it was a flu, why didn’t I get sick too? Because I didn’t eat the food. The management needs to reinforce sanitary conditions in the kitchen. WEWILLNEVERRETURN, even if we were offered a million dollars. DISGUSTING

I actually had to force my family here again after a so so experience last time — as I really enjoyed the short rib grilled cheese. The family liked the smores and wanted to eat elsewhere to see grandma like we do every Sunday — but I convinced them to please eat here… Again — my waffle baked short rib was amazing — which prompted me to come back! The first time we were here — we had a slow and mouthy waiter — and the chef who should not be one as — when we asked the waiter where the crispy Panko breadcrumbs were on the baked smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese was he returned and said the chef said it was mixed in there — which was basically soupy spiral pasta — taste was there — but the consistency was miserable! The waiter was talking bad about the chef and owners not knowing what they are doing and since last week — I have to agree as the same sweaty chef is there and they made changes to the place — in just one week! They stopped having wait staff and changed the way they make grill cheese sandwiches — which I only found out after my sandwich arrived — completely different! The owner was standing next to the cashiers and said we also lowered our prices — which they didn’t… She helped bring the food to the table and said«shit» in front of my two young daughters — when she spilled the luke warm chicken noodle soup on to my barely grilled — grilled cheese(ugh)! She said they stopped using the sandwich press as it took too long to cook(wow again — the waiter’s words from last week came echoing in my mind!!!) I feel so bad as we traveled over 40 minutes to get here and the moronic business decisions and inconsistent food — will surely make this place have to break their lease — as if they keep this up — how can they stay in business!!! Damn shame — as I really really really wanted this place to be awesome! The owner did try and make the a «new one» like she said — it was not — it came back cooler than before and it was split in half and she re-grilled the same soupy bread and it was not well done and crispy like it was last time(even if they foolishly removed the waffle iron grill) — it was nothing like last week — I could not eat it. Saving grace — the kids love the smores, again — they should not serve food — and just that — as some of the other desserts were miserable. PS — I didn’t want my money back — I wanted my lunch! I think they didn’t refund the soup — which was cold and had rubber gristle in it…

Slow service, poor presentation, decent food, with attitude. Service was slow though there are signs that say that if you’re in a hurry, the can direct you to the nearest McDonald’s. I resent the attitude and the lack of respect for my time. I understand that fresh food takes time but there are nicer ways of explaining it… But the lack of good service from the kitchen has no excuse. Which brings us to the food… One dish had cold bacon bits dropped on top(obviously not fresh) and a waffle sandwich with cold onion rings. We resent them back and once the meals were reprepared, they were tasty. They obviously don’t take well to Unilocal criticism as there’s also a sign trvializing a bad Unilocal review. Again, a lack of respect for the customer. It’s a shame as we really wanted to like this place but they make it too difficult and wouldn’t appreciate it anyway. The first rule of business is that the customer is always right. They seem to have forgotten that.

Not impressed, desserts were overpriced for how it tasted. My waffle did not taste homemade, it was dry and cold. My friend order a hot drink and exchanged it after finding a piece of hair inside. Spend your money and calories elsewhere!

My fiancé and I were looking for a place to get some different desserts than usual. We came across this on here and decided to give it a try. We love trying to new places out and headed over. We walked in and were not greeted by anyone. We get to the counter and it’s a little before someone asks if we want to be seated. We get seated and that was it. We sat there for over 5 minutes. No one came to offer water or ask if we needed help. Another 5 minutes passed and we just got up and left. Bad customer service.

So, I found this place as I was browsing Groupon. I saw that they had chicken and waffles and it got my interest. My boyfriend lives in the area and so I suggested that we meet up for dinner here on a Friday night. We arrived and the place wasn’t too packed, but we were able to be seated right away. So why 3⁄5 stars? Although we were seated right away, it took some time for our waitress to get our order. Then there was the wait for our food… about 15 – 20 mins or so. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Sun Dried Tomato Avocado Sandwich(what a creative name, right?) and I ordered the Avocado Bacon Ranch Cheddar Cheese Waffle. Two complaints… my boyfriend didn’t even get his chicken in his sandwich. They eventually corrected the order, but how could you forget that? Two, my waffle was bland, cold and pretty dense for a waffle and so I was full quick. Chicken wasn’t anything special either. My boyfriend and I usually manage by asking for sauce to kick up the taste. Then there was another wait for our check… and for it to return for signing. Overall experience? Great concept. Ok food. Slow service. Would I come back? Possibly to try the meatball sandwiches and dessert. There’s definitely room for improvement, especially since it’s pretty new.

Had lunch here with my wife and mother-in-law when we were looking for something different. The food was very good, although it took a little bit because everything was made to order. Sandwiches are served on Challah buns and pressed in the waffle iron to give a unique texture and flavor, and everything was fresh — not something that can be said for other places in Coral Springs. The atmosphere was fun, and the owner greeted us during the meal. He’s a super nice guy, and very excited to see his dream come to life. The service was a bit slow, which precluded us from trying the desserts, but we’ll be back another day. Absolutely worth a try if you’re looking for something fun & different!

The menu is really big and diverse. There’s so many options if you’re looking for comfort food. But we went there for the sweets! We were recommended the smores dip, but we ended up not getting it because we thought it would be too sweet. We ended up getting the Chocolate Wasted ice cream sandwich and the Banana Karenina dessert waffle. The waffle was DELICIOUS. It was soft, warm, and the Nutella was perfect. The ice cream sandwich was really good too if you’re a chocolate person. Ice cream was perfect, cookie was delicious but wish it was softer. But overall, it was awesome. Will be going back for sure, but only when I’m craving MAJOR sweets because it may be too much.

I think my hopes were just a little to high. After reading the menu from outside I got really fascinated at what this place could be like. Looking at the menu you are almost impressed at the boldness of creature. The first thing that popped into mind before walking in was one of those chefs from top chefs probably came up with this concept. This place combines the most random comfort foods together on one dish and hopes it turns out well. Hopes. Now upon entry there are lots of tvs with nothing playing on them but advertisement for the place. You order before you sit and they bring it out. Now my first time coming in I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the short rib Mac and cheese. $ 11 Now when the order was delivered to my table the presentation was ok. The short rib wasn’t mixed in the max and cheese, but resting on top. I was also given something that looked like a waffle. So the very best part of the meal was the short rib. This was delicious. Except for the fact they put ketchup on top. But there wasn’t much short ribs. The majority of my meal was Mac and cheese. Now I love Mac and cheese and normally this wouldn’t be a problem except there was almost no flavor. There was plenty of pasta but no taste. Very disappointing. Now on to the waffle looking thing. This was actually some type of bread that was burnt to a crisp in a waffle iron. I genuinely think I chipped a tooth bitting into it. It tasted awful. I was expecting soft and sweet, but got concrete. I personally can’t justify going back unless it’s to get the short rib alone.

We came here for dinner yesterday expecting the worst based on some of the reviews on here. The service was okay, but honestly they were understaffed. It wasn’t exceptionally busy, but they were about at 50% capacity and only one waitress was working. We felt really bad for her. It wasn’t that she was novice, she just lacked help. My boyfriend ordered the buffalo boneless wings, which were fried with the sauce(instead of the sauce covering the wings) and they were really tasty. I ordered the Monte Cristo grilled cheese on wheat bread, which was excellent. I was only able to eat half. Portions were large and filling for both orders. The party fries that came with our orders were a mixture of kettle cooked chips, tater tots, and crinkly fries. I’m not sure if that’s how it is normally, but I was expecting just fries. It was good nonetheless. We also ordered the bananas foster pie dessert. I thought it was the perfect amount of sweetness but my boyfriend got an extra side of the sauce and then he said it was perfect. Overall a decent experience. It’s everything you would expect in a little comfort food place with lots of greasy food. After eating, we both wanted to take a nap from all the grease. Also, the ventilation in the place is really bad so you smell like grease and food and smoke when you leave. That’s not the owner’s fault though. They had the same issue with this location when Smashburger was in there.

Our First experience at this fabulous restaurant. The staff was friendly knowledgable the food was great a good portion size and was served quickly. The owner was even there talking with all the customers. We had a great dinner and desserts are amazing as well. We will definitely be back and recommend to our family and friends.

I happily welcome Between the Sweets because you’re not going to find anywhere else like it around here. On my first visit I had the Fig Bacon Jam Brie grilled cheese. A little too sweet for an entrée for me, but delicious. My husband had the Turducken and loved it, but knows he’ll need to prepare for it next time. We finished with the Smores Dip, which was tasty, but a little too much after the big sandwiches. On our second visit, I had the Sun Dried Tomato Chicken & Waffles with Pesto Cream Sauce. Oh my goodness — so delicious. My MIL loved her Thai Asian Chicken & Waffles as well. We followed up that meal with the Chocolate Wasted, which was preferable to the too-sweet Smores Dip. The cookies they make the ice cream sandwiches with are really good. Ambiance is great, and the staff is very friendly. Yes, the service is slow, but I have confidence that it will get better as they figure out their way.

Decided to get in while new and not too busy. No sign yet so look out for the mattress store, it’s right next door. You can dine in or take out. Hip interior with booths and tables. We were seated right away by a super friendly, great staff. This place has potential and hopefully they are still working out the kinks. We started with the yum yum nachos… House made chips with yum yum sauce, short rib beef, and pepperdue peppers. Turned out decent but seemed like it was sitting for a while. The girlfriend is picky about sauce so they brought a couple different kinds for us to taste test. The barbecue is a sweet but not too sweet. She really liked it. They also brought the Carolina gold which was a vinegar based Carolina style sauce(hence the name, hehehe). She decided to go with the boneless wings plain with a side of each sauce. Chicken was great, a good batter that’s not too thick and came with chips. I went with the avocado bacon ranch cheddar cheese waffle. It’s got all of the above with a few chicken strips added. It was a sweet waffle that the girlfriend really enjoyed. Avocados were nowhere near ripe. :( Lastly, for dessert we went with the Chocolate chunk cookie dough cheese ball. Cream cheese, chocolate chunk cookie dough with pita chips. Least favorite part of our meal. Would go with something else… Chips were also stale. The service was great and the meal had potential so we’ll give it another shot in a couple months. Complaints: Nothing came out hot, avocado was not ripe, I could’ve bent the fork on it. Should’ve ordered a different desert, pita chips were very stale.

First time here in the recently opened Between The Sweets. We came just for the sweets :). First off entering the restaurant is lively and fun. A good atmosphere for groups. The décor is a nice touch with hand painted art work framed on the walls and TVs letting you know the days ice cream flavor and other deserts. The service is a little clunky where you walk up to the counter then are asked if you are dining in or not. We chose dining in and were seated. Once seated the table service was okay. The deserts we chose were the Toute Sweet waffle and the Banana Foster Dip. Toute Sweet was a nice fluffy waffle with a caramel drizzle topped with cut strawberries and canned whipped cream. The dip was interesting as it came in a iron skillet but was cold and a bit confusing on how to eat. Not entirely a dip since it was very liquid as to which the chips did not cling on to the toppings. Fountain drinks are all self serve and at payment of your meal, you are to walk back up to the counter where others are walking in to be seated. Diner style I suppose. Over all a nice looking place and would try again as the smores look like the golden crown here.

This is a new restaurant in Coral Springs that my friend Nathaniel and Christine told me about, and of course, I had to try it. In the location formally occupied by Smashburger sits this dinner/dessert concept restaurant that has a menu that is unlike anything else in Coral Springs… grilled cheese on waffles, burgers, waffles and chicken and all sorts of other great items — I have’t even gotten to the desserts. I ordered up the super grilled cheese with tomato which was absolutely delicious and cheesy. My son loved the Avocado bacon ranch cheddar cheese waffle. My husband had some other type of delicious waffle meal that made him too full to eat dessert and my daughter had a child’s meal. The place is very casual and you can go up and help yourself to drinks while waitstaff takes your order. There is also craft beer, sangria and wine on the menu as well. Now for the desserts… a whole page full of them. My son had the s’mores specialty dip and I had a sundae with two types of ice cream which was really good. This place was definitely a treat and someplace that we would visit again, but probably not have the desserts each time as the food was good enough for us. I can see this doing well with the buzz it’s getting and hope to write more about it in the near future, but wanted to put something on Unilocal before I forgot… and oh yes, be the first to review it.
