Gotta give these guys 5 stars! The best authentic mexican food in Coral Springs. Small, family-owned business that takes pride in their food. Burritos, tamales, everything is good. The green sauce is awesome!

Tasty casual Mexican food option in the area. Friendly, family-like service and food served with a smile. I had the classic steak burrito which tasted fresh and authentically Mexican. It wasn’t loaded with cheese and sour cream, but rather freshly crunchy from the lettuce and made extra tasty by the beans and quality steak. My husband dined on the wet burrito with shredded chicken. While I didn’t get a taste of it, he cleaned his plate so it must’ve been good! Overall, friendly and casual with a nice inexpensive Mexican menu. Be sure to get here early because the limited tables fill up at peak lunch hour!

Wow, I don’t know what is more of a shock. Seeing that there are so many reviewers on here who obviously don’t know real, good Mexican food or how terrible the food at this establishment actually is. I lived in Texas for eight years, and this place is awful. If ever you happen to be in or around Dallas, Texas try Pappasito’s and you’ll understand why Chini’s is absoloutley terrible.

BESTGUACAMOLEINCORALSPRINGS! The burritos are pretty bomb too, but the guac is my fave.

Had chicken tacos with side of rice and refried beans, the chicken was dry and flavorless. The beans and rice also lacked any seasoning or taste. Overall, I was very disappointed with my meal

Skip the chain or fancier sit down Mexican restaurants and enjoy a fresh, and delicious meal at Chini’s Burritos. Pleasant and friendly atmosphere with more authentic, reasonably priced food. Not just burritos, you can have platters(enchiladas, etc), tacos, and more.

I read tons of amazing reviews about this place so hubby and I decided to try. Walking in, the place is small, and homey. You walk up to the counter and order, then sit and wait. There are a few full dishes, but everything seems to be a la carte. I got the chicken taco platter and guacamole and chips. I can’t remember what hubby had. I was expecting to be wowed, truly, but I wasn’t. The chicken tacos were alright, but not the authentic experience I wanted. Chicken was shredded, and not seasoned all that well. Forget about spicy, it needed more salt! Rice was yellow(a plus), but a bit hard, like it had been sitting there a while, the refried beans were good. Our guacamole was freshly made, and it was good, but I had to add a bit more salt and lime juice. Salt I understand, it’s a taste thing, but the lime should have been on point. I hadn’t had Salsa Fiesta’s guacamole at this point, but if I had, I’d have been extremely disappointed. Price, my dish was about $ 10 and the guacamole about $ 6 which is not bad at all for University Dr, but I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the meal. It just needed something. Maybe my expectations were too high. I find that when I read tons of reviews before hand this seems to be the case. Would I be back? Maybe to try one of their famous burritos, but I wouldn’t become a regular.

Delicious Mexican and Spanish food with great service! This little family owned restaurant is in the heart of Coral Springs on university and Royal Palm, and is a local favorite. My boyfriend used to come here so often(he worked next door) that they knew his order by heart. Still to this day they remember his order when he goes in. I love the enchilada platter with red or green sauce. The green sauce is the spicy one, while the red is a milder one. But then I get the little side of red hot sauce to give it just enough kick. My boyfriend gets the quesadillas or the flautas and loves them without the beans and rice(I’m more of a refried bean and rice fan :)). We always get fruit punch jarritos to drink. I’ve also tried their burritos and tamales and everything is made to order and so so delicious. Definitely a place to try out. You’ll become a regular like the locals!

Awesome food, low key interior, friendly staff. The food always tastes homemade, exactly what you’d expect a Mexican grandma to make. They also serve Mexican sodas in addition to the usual ones. A local gem, I’ve been coming here ever since I discovered it on Unilocal

I have been going here with my family since they opened I found it by accident as it’s not easily seen from University. I was longing to find a Mexican restaurant that I was used to growing up and living in in Chicago for 30 years. The owners are unbelievably sweet and I love them we affectionately call her mama. One bite of the steak taco I knew that I had found my new place. I have tried many items on the menu all are very, very good the guacamole has big pieces of avocado with homemade chips — delicious! We go here a ton and every time it’s a wonderful experience. Thank you mama Chini and family for brining great Mexican good to South Florida!

This is a mom and pop/family restaurant. Its not fancy, it just good real Mexican food. If you are looking for a frozen Margarita and a piñata, this is not the place for you. Go to La Bamba(which I LOVE for fajitas, margaritas, etc.) However here, it is all about the steak burrito for me. The steak burrito is still the very best burrito I have ever had. And I have lived in new England, Houston, San Francisco, west coast of Florida and then here. I have been coming here for years– weekly when I lived here and now coming down to Florida every month I still come here. I never do not run in and get the steak burrito. It is perfect with marinated steak, beans, lettuce, tomato. It is all very fresh and much different(in the best way possible) than Chipotles or Moe’s or any of those chains, No where else is the salsa so fresh and good. It’s not cheap — go to Taco Bell if you want cheap What it is is homemade Mexican food that is made by Chini herself. That’s hard to find. I have not experienced the other issues other Unilocalers had with oil and small portions. My mother loves the chicken tacos because the chicken meat is stewed all day and has that homemade wonderful taste. The rice and refried beans are also good– again, much better than a chain. So please appreciate this for what it is — if it’s not to your taste(and again, when I am in the mood for frozen margaritas and fajitas and fun, I go to La Bamba) then go somewhere else.

Food: I thought the food tasted great! I ordered a burrito and it was hot, flavorful, and authentic. If you’re looking for something simple and sort of quick in the Mexican palate, but not chain stuff, I do suggest this! Tip: If you ask for spicy, it is super SUPER spicy. The salsa wasn’t tangy like Tabasco… just super hot. Service: There were only two people on staff so lunch hour took a while. I think waiting in line plus getting my food took about 20 minutes so if you’re in a crunch for time and you’re looking to savor your burrito bites, I would suggest coming later in the day. Environment: The place is very homey and small but it feels like a grandmother’s kitchen! I think it’s just right. The food was really great but there’s something about this place that doesn’t sparkle. Perhaps its’s the lack of human connection from the staff even though they are SO kind – I’m not quite sure.

This is the best Mexican food I have eaten in south florida! The food is delicious and flavorful! Chini is wonderful and friendly. There’s nothing better than authentic food! My boys and I have our favorites here all though I come often enough to try different things! Come try this place you won’t regret it!

I got greeted by the main lady here. She’s such a loving person. She took my order and explained that my food was very spicy(chilaquiles). Me being tuff, I told her I could handle it because I’m Mexican lol. They are from a different state(Chiapas) than the one I’m from(Jalisco) so the food varies in taste even if it’s the same food. So far I am pleased with atmosphere of this place. Lots of smiles and it smells delicious. My first bite and its mouthwatering. So many flavors and the right amount of spice. I’m not a big fan of onions, let alone raw onions, but the taste is just great. The cilantro adds so much flavor. The beans remind me of my mother’s beans(and they have no lard!) which means they are really good. The rice is tasty too. I also got some tamales to take home and I’m excited to try them later. Overall I was very satisfied with this delicious food. Definitely a place to check out. Humble and delicious!!!

Never again. I read all these amazing reviews and thought I’d give it a try. The menu online is old and the prices were +3 and 4 $ for everything. I ordered the #1 burrito and my boss ordered the taco plate. Her tacos were beyond bland. Literally just grilled chicken breast in bread with cheese. 9 $. Really? My burrito was SMALL. Borderline half the size of chipotle and 10 $! Half the burrito was mashed up tortilla since it wasn’t filled as much as it could have been and it was majority beans and lettuce. I paid extra for 3 pieces of steak. I’m pissed at the wasted money and the fact that at 5’5″ and 135lbs, I’m still hungry like I ate nothing at all. Maybe it’s because I ordered take away, but either way, it’s criminal. Never ever going back, not even for free.

A+ for Mexican food, but I wasn’t expecting it to be as pricey as it was given it’s hole in the wall feel. I will definitely be going back, but not when I’m looking for something cheap. Not many tables in the restaurant and mainly take out. Very helpful staff and they’ll provide the wifi password if you ask.

Tonight I tried the enchiladas with refried beans and rice. Pretty tasty for a mom and pops Mexican restaurant. My mom had the flautas which were crispy in a good way. If you want a little kick of spice added to your food then ask for the mild green salsa. I will definitely be back to visit because of the customer service I received and the food. The owner I assume was the one who greeted me tonight. Great customer service! My only thing is that I wish they provided some type of dressing with the small salad on my plate. Just a little weird having no dressing. There are not many good spanish places around this area. Many are franchises which sometimes seem mediocre and nothing special. But this place has potential and I will be back!

I’ve had the fish tacos both times I’ve been here, they’re so good! The fish isn’t heavily battered or deep fried like so many places in the area, it’s just lightly coated in flour and pan fried. The three tacos have a generous portion of fish in each. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with anything, not even chips. Although the tacos are filling, I like a little variety on my plate. But for a few more dollars it’s worth ordering a side or rice and beans, then you have enough food to share or have leftovers. The service has always been pleasant and both times I’ve seen plenty of regulars picking up food. Worth a try!
