Horrible! Stay away. Seriosully, after giving this location a try three times, tryong to find thr good in the bad-the customer service experience has overpowered any possibility of attempts. First visit, we were told that there more more of anything a short time after opening. Second visit with lots of family, a credit card was swiped once and charge 3 times within the week of visit. Last visit, it was 20 min before closing and you can hear the woman in the back yell, who open the door(sacking her teeth) as she walked out and she repeated same feelings. We decided to walk out. No excuse to be here in the states, offering a service accompanied by horrible and unwelcome greeting. There’s way too many options to settle for this type of customer service here in the states.

Pros: My husband loves the jerk chicken. Cons: The shrimp patties are all crust and very little shrimp. I opened up the thick, doughy crust to see why the patty tasted so dry. It is because there is very little shrimp filling. I also tried the jerk chicken wrap. It tasted good, but there was practically no chicken in the wrap. So, basically, I paid for bread and lettuce. It could have been a really good wrap, but the ratio of chicken to wrap was 2% chicken and 98% wrap. And the chicken consisted of tiny bits of dried-out pieces.

Love this place when I’m craving Jamaican food. Great portions, good flavor, a bit of a wait sometimes with decent customer service.

This is a chain fast food restaurant. They serve Jamaican Caribbean food and drinks… if you are like me, I like to change it up from the everyday run of fast food places. This is one of those places. They have dishes that are served in a to-go type of container, but you can eat in if you choose. The dishes are of the most popular from the caribbean ox tail, curry chicken, red beans and rice, different dishes on different days. The dishes are usually very tasty with the different spices. It’s good for a chain restaurant. Employees do not really look happy not to many smiles, this would be concerning as an owner!!! could lead to poor customer service… that could be deadly… As you can see by the pictures, Mama and child were happy, that makes me happy!!!

I’ve been here 3 times and never had a bad experience yet. The food here is great nice flavor atmosphere and clean. I’ve been to several Jamaican restaurants only to be disappointed. This place is a favorite!

Had this for dinner today. It’s ok. Last time I went I had the oxtails and wasn’t impressed. This time I got curry chicken(cause I mean really… you can’t mess up curry chicken). It was ok. I also had a slice of cake. Meh. It was ok. I grew up in a Caribbean household so I’m used to big flavors when it comes to Caribbean cuisine. Unfortunately this did not deliver those flavors. It wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t memorable. I would go back if I wanted a quick meal to fill me up but not if I wanted an authentic Caribbean meal…

The food here is AMAZING. Great Jamaican food. I will say though, the Jerk Hut where I’m from is slightly better(better rice and peas and the jerk comes with red sauce). But this place is definitely second best. They make it very easy to call in my order and pick it up 10 – 15 minutes later. Def recommend!

The jerk chicken is very good. The sauce makes it. If you don’t use the sauce and the chicken will not be good. The chicken is a bit dry… especially the white meat pieces. But the sauce more than makes up for it. The lunch specials are a very good deal.

Love the food here. Worth the wait, non-air conditioned space, and non friendly employees. Food is great, love bringing it for large group parties.

I like this place, the food is great & it’s nice and clean. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Ok, well I do understand this is a franchise so I don’t think they can do what I think could bring them to the next level. The jerk chicken literally tastes like jerked Publix chicken. Now I’m sure this isn’t the case, however jerk chicken taste at its best when grilled. Once they grill the jerk chicken, then we have 5 stars! PS — Fried chicken here is great with the brown stew gravy on the side!

Have to update my review, anyways! This restaurant has great tasting Carribean food, flavor is very evident in their food. Although I do have one complaint, it is true that the workers look miserable doing their jobs, you come in there they never greet or smile at you. They always look like they are being bothered when serving people, especially the cashiers are always rude. Great food if you’ll accept the workers

This is my honest opinion about this restaurant. I’m giving two stars because of their POOR customer service. I will admit that the food is good and the facility is always clean but the majority of the servers have no manners and act as if you’re disturbing them when you come to order. One of them started an argument with me when I asked for jerk sauce, completely ridiculous for a server to carry on with a paying customer about a condiment. If the food wasn’t good I wouldn’t go back but there isn’t any competition for Jamaican food in this area. Just try not to get into a boxing match with the aggressive servers when you visit.

Ahhh the Golden Krust, as much as I enjoy their food, I don’t like the attitudes at all. I can’t say that about everyone at this location. Unfortunately both people that helped me were stank. I walked in, waited in line and soon as it was my turn to place an order I said, hi and smiled, lol the girl helping me didn’t even crack a smile, so whatevs I ordered the jerk chicken, plantains, and cabbage waited in line once again to pay. Now I’m the kind of person that smiles at everyone because well I simply have no reason to be rude/unpleasant to anyone .I paid with cash and upon receiving my change, the dollars were handed to me and the few cents practically thrown into my hand, really?! Wtf did I do to you. If it’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s people that have no customer service skills or just courtesy in general .its not my fault that you are having a bad day. Suck it up and put a smile on your face. Leave your problems and attitude at home ! Anyhow, I enjoyed my meal very much ! The food is great !

I am giving it one star not for the food but for the horrible customer service! everytime i go and i am there at least twice a week… its the same thing. They are not friendly at all and you feel like you are ruining their day just to take your order. If the food wasnt so good i wouldnt go back there.

Yes, they are a chain. But what a chain. Not one of those fancy, easy on the eyes for sure. It belongs to a category that of those chains that you can leave with the satisfaction that you’ve had some of the best food out there without denting a hole in the wallet. Be it their Jamaican patties made with beef, chicken, veggies, or spinach or the popular items like Jerk chicken, curry chicken, or curry goat or even oxtail. Its prepared fresh from time to time. Its like a little bakery in there. A word of caution, do not expect a five star service since you are not paying that price. My motive is to walk-in and take-out. I don’t intend to dine-in. Do call them before you head out if you are looking for anything in particular especially their patties. They go by pretty fast and they do not back again after a certain time. They are located in a decent sized mall where they have a publix. Its not a shady looking place. When I went they were out of the veggie patties so I settled for a spinach patty, fried dumplings, and curry chicken. Oh boy, it was good. I got a little 2 second frown when I asked for chutney/jerk sauce to go with the patty and dumpling, but I would do that everytime. They went so well with each other. On previous occasions, I’ve had their veggie pattie and really liked. The spinach wasn’t bad either. The fried dumpling was adequate but my roommate thought they were amazing. The curry chicken was really good. Well made and the spices were well blended too. Apart from Donna’s now I have another alternative. But GK close by 9 so have to make it there early. My experience with the staff has been pleasant. Nothing bad at all. Overall, I think I am hooked to this place. Will try to go there whenever in that area, if nothing else for their patties. Definitely thumps up!

Did they change the chef? We went there last Saturday for breakfast. The ackee and saltfish was oily and flavorless, the mackerel was minced and boney and the liver was tough. The last time I had breakfast there before this experience was about 2 months ago and it was much better. We were so disappointed. As Jamaicans we did not expect something authentic but this was a downright disgusting reflection of our culinary heritage. No more breakfast at Golden Krust for us. I hope other people do not eat here and think this is really how Jamaican food taste.

1) Nice location, clean and somewhat friendly staff. 2) Breakfast is delicious portions are fair versus cost. 3) Lunch crowd is overwhelming and line can be confusing to navigate if you are only buying patties. You have a hard time deciding if you need to wait behind those who have no idea what they want on the food bar, or just go to the register and get your easy to take out items. 4) CALLAHEAD — can be disappointed on any given day to find that what you want is not there such as Jrk Chicken patties; Shrimp patties; and Veggie Patties. Too often they run out by 3pm and refuse to mke more. That’s fine but at least put up a sign so people don’t wait in line only to find out you have nothing for them. 5) The Lauderill location ROCKS!
