This is one of the better Char Hut’s that I’ve been to other than the original on University and Sunset Strip which is closed now. Different atmosphere and very clean but still great food. Only 1 issue on this trip which dropped it from a perfect visit. For all you guys who know me I have NOPROBLEMS spending stupid money on food that is good, but according to this Unilocal site when you check in at THIS location you get 15% off your bill, sooooooo when I’m told they don’t honor this site I’m thinking hmmmnnn interesting, and I was all excited about getting nominated as Duke of reviewing this location lol. Ownership might want to contact Unilocal and cancel this idea if you aren’t going to honor it. So the supervisor on duty does the right thing after telling me this and offers 10% off I appreciate the attempt to make it right even though the last trip the discount was not a problem but the person behind the counter also looked like the owner. End of the day this place has great perks and specials. Char club, shakes, and they serve alcohol. Have a family pack for four for like 25 to 30 dollars. They are not like the other locations they sell Coke products in there Freestyle machine NOMOUNTAINDEW lol but that’s it. Till next time

Went to this location for the first time(I have also never been to char hut) seemed nice and clean inside. One party was in front of us and it took a while to take our order(it happens not a big deal and we were also the only other customers in the store) once we placed our order we went further down to the toppings area to wait for our order to be ready to customize it. Everything was fine there were a lot of toppings to chose from; once our burger was finished we had to wait a tremendous amount of time for fries. We also ordered shakes which were tasteless and my friend got the wrong flavor and told them it was wrong and they just said«oh.» They did not offer to remake the shake or even offer an apology. After waiting for 15 min for the rest of my friends order(she ordered truffle fries) they brought out a Mac n cheese which we said was not ours and they just tried handing it to us AGAIN in which we nicely told them no we were waiting for truffle fries in which another worker said they were almost ready. Another 10 min goes by with nothing and we just tell them to forget it at that point because we were waiting for so long. Still no apology nothing!!! Another 5 min goes by and we randomly get brought an order or regular fries to us? Whoever is management there really needs to spend some time training the associates more. Would probably not return to this location which is disappointing because the food was actually pretty decent minus the mistakes that happened!

In the world of fast casual burgers, the completion is mighty fierce. From BurgerFi to Five Guys and everyone in between, it’s kind of difficult to make yourself known unless you’ve got an amazing product or some type of different business model that makes you unique. While Char Hut is pretty good, I’m not sure if it’s the best in the competition. Located in Coral Springs in the Publix plaza on Sample it’s right around the corner from my place so I have had the chance to come here a few times. First thing: it’s always pretty empty. And to that I’m not sure why. Maybe just bad timing on my part? The staff I have never had any issues with anyone who works there. They’ve always been friendly and attentive. I tried using the check in offer from Unilocal and while he didn’t accept it because they stated he would give me a discount for my trouble. The Unilocal offer was for 15 percent and he gave me 10. I can’t really complain. The décor is nice. Nothing too fancy. Few tv screens which play movies and sporting events. The place is typically clean which is always a plus for me. The main event The reason you’re here is for a burger. They have a combo for $ 9.99 which gets you a sandwich, fries, and a drink. My standard is the char burger which is a third of a pound burger cooked to my liking on my bun of choice; bacon and cheese are extra and I get them both. The party is a fresh slice of meat flame grilled like how you imagined Burger King’s to be, but this really is flame grilled. And you can taste it when you bite into your burger. It has a smokey taste to it and is cooked to your liking. Sometimes a little over cooked based on how you asked but it is never dry– always juicy so I can really be that upset. The fries are good. They are a little on the bland tasting and could use a coating of salt but hey, I tell myself they’re healthier that way. In the burger world, I would never come here for their fries. If I want killer fries with my burger I’ll go to BurgerFi. It’s a tough spot to be in for Char Hut. The food is quality, the staff is good and the establishment is above par. In my opinion it gets lost between all the other burger options and it really shouldn’t because it’s pretty darn good.

Stopped in for lunch on friday. They were pretty quiet. All the employees were very nice and helpful. Our burgers were cooked perfectly and we split a side of fries that were very good.

Char-Hut has great burgers, but I’ve been here a couple of times and you can’t comfortably dine there because the a/c is turned down so low. I’m usually a ‘hot-natured’ person and rarely feel cold, but I feel like I need a parka, gloves and a knit cap to eat at this location. I’m guessing the grill cook has control over the thermostat and has it turned down to make himself comfortable. Well, I’ve worked in restaurant kitchens, and grill cook is the hottest job, but as a restaurant, you should make sure your guests are comfortable. Hint: If the outside of the windows are covered with condensation, it’s too cold inside. I’ll stick to eating at the Char-Hut in Fort Lauderdale or Davie if I want a Char-Burger. They’re usually comfortable.

Food was good but be aware of the high prices… ask for a double chicken… charge for a single then I had to pay almost 4.00 extra terrible but anyways what do you expect! wont be coming back any time soon because of such high price and incompetent manger that took my order… that did not charge me and had to wait for him how to charge me the extra 4.00 dollars should have just walk away !

Went here this past Saturday around 8:30 pm. Not a soul in the place, which should have been my first sign to bolt out of there. Placed my order ordering everything separate but the nitwit taking the order combined it into some kind of combo, whatever. Got home after a few minutes drive, the onion ring things were cold, the burger not cooked to order and tasteless, and milkshake had the consistency of water. Very odd vibe in the place, almost like it was a front for something else. I had driven by this place many times on my way to Publix and figured I’d give it a shot, I FIGUREDWRONG! Don’t waste your time or money at this hole.

Argh!!! Does not have the Italian sausage sandwich!!! What the heck! Excuse was that they were a franchise. Thats not an excuse. At McDonald’s do they not have the Big Mac, because they are a franchise? Me thinks not. Very much disappointed.

I love a good burger. Char Hut is now on my list of favorites. I loved everything about this place but let’s get to the point, and that’s the burger. I ordered the char burger with cheddar on a wheat bun cooked medium. The burger was cooked to perfection, medium means the meat has just about lost all its pink and they got it right. The bun was fresh and a perfect accompaniment. After your burger is cooked you go to the bar and pick all the toppings you want for no extra charge! They have everything from raw onions to fried onion strings, fresh veggies and delicious sauces. That char taste makes you feel like you are at a summer picnic. They have a nice variety of sides. I went with the sweet potato fries and they offered me marshmallow sauce for dipping. That is unique and delicious. Finally they have the coke machines where you get to mix and choose your favorite fountain beverage. Overall it was a great experience, from the friendly staff to the clean and comfortable dining room.

My food was excellent! I needed a healthy and quick lunch … and Char-Hut hit the spot. The restaurant was clean and looked brand-new. This is where I’ll be eating when I’m in the area. Thank you Char-Hut!

Their burgers are superb and are prepared to order. I love the choice of bun and the variety of toppings. They also have great Cuban-style rice and beans, which I frequently choose. Fries and onion rings are also excellent.

I was excited to see CharHut come to the neighborhood. I’ve been there twice since their opening. Disappointed on both occasions. Stale bread, unripe tomatoes, old lettuce. I gave it a second chance only because I figured everyone has an off day once in a while. But twice in a row is a pattern of mediocrity. Never again.

With my prior review, I might have spoken too soon. My wife and I went recently after an evening meeting to get a couple of fresh grilled chicken sandwiches and when got home to eat them, my chicken was undercooked. I don’t know how it’s possible to do so, but no one is perfect. Id still give them another shot to redeem themselves.

Great place. fresh, clean dining area, good servings, yummy food that I won’t feel guilty about eating or feeding my son. Service lacked personality and I felt rushed while picking my burger toppings but I’ll still be back. I’m glad I found this spot.

After successful trip after trip to the«old«Char Huts I assumed the food would be on par, after all its a Char Hut! The price of the food is basically irrelevant in the sense that if whatever you pay doesn’t make so happy you can’t wait to return then you wasted your $$. I left this Char Hut with no real time table for a return, I was completely underwhelmed. Yes the one in Tamarac has ugly furniture and is small and not always appetizing looking but what it did do was cook burgers and produce food with a certain quality level that completely satisfied customers to the point that it was«cool«to say you visited the place. Having one freestyle coke machine and no napkins on the tables is an inconvenient cost-cutting move that hurts the flow of the business. No music in the place left me with a sterile and almost cold feeling as I sat there trying to enjoy the burger that was barely cooked(see pic) funny because the girl asked if I wanted it medium or medium well. The hot dog fell through the bun because the bread was cracked(probably from not being fresh) the hot dog itself was good though? The produce in the pans looked sad and not too fresh. Tomatoes unripe, romaine rusted, onions dry not much of it screamed«edible«. Verdict: probably the last time I make a one hour round-trip to see some half-smiling faces stand in front of bread and produce that expired. I’ll stick to the usual burger fi or just cook the burgers and dogs @ home. Sorry

Having grown up in south florida I always viewed char hut as an american institution. Char hut was synonymous with great food, fast service, and a value price. As far as the new branding and restaurant opened across the street from my coral springs home, this is not the case. The only thing as large as the price was the vast majority of empty tables in the dining room. The only reason for the ghost-like nature of the restaurant must be the extremely overpriced, under seasoned, and small portions served. I can’t imagine why a large burger, fries/onionrings, and a beer should come out to nearly 22 dollars for one person. My final recommendation would be to steer clear of this establishment unless you tend to like spending a lot to receive very little.

UPDATE… So I gave this place another try and now I can say officially I am done, much like this establishment very soon. I just love Char Hut but was reminded why this ISNOT a Char Hut by any means. I went during what should be the lunch rush and there were two others here. I dealt with much the same. The place was already showing signs of neglect, overpriced for the quality you receive, parking is less than conveinent due to its location. I chuckled at the sign that reads«Capacity 92», as if that will ever be an issue… off to Davie when I need my fix.

I was on my way to publix and spotted one of my most favorite places CHARHUT!!! I figured Publix could wait and checked in. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich from shanese. she suggested the cheese fries… how could I say no!!! To drink I chose the birch beer. I opened the bottle with my Unilocal bottle opener. The place is ultra clean the sandwich is delicious. the fries are OK. the portion is HUGE. I won’t take a star off for asking for one leaf of lettuce but was told that was only for burgers and had to have shredded lettuce instead. The sandwich made up for the lettuce leaf thing… I have to remember to go to Publix hungry or else I will end up here way too much. I love char hut. hopefully they will allow leaf lettuce on grilled chicken sandwiches next time I eat in!

Burger was very tasty… Expect to pay about $ 10 for the complete meal(burger, fries, drink). They also have the coke machine that is computerized.

CharHut in Coral Springs, it’s about damn time! Growing up in Oakland Park there were your basic fast food joints like BK, Mickey Ds, and Wendy’s. But we all knew if you had a little extra coin in your pocket and you wanted a solid burger you went to CharHut or Jack’s Old Fashion Hamburgers. Back when I was single and successful I lived right behind the Char Hut on Commercial Blvd. It was a free standing building and I was so spoiled to have this so close to my love shack. I was horrified to learn they were closing and the whole building was being demolished. To this day I never found out what happened, but I was real sad. I’m glad to report they just opened a new CharHut in the Strip Center almost exactly where that old building was located. Hooray! When I heard that CharHut was opening in Coral Springs I was overwhelmed with joy. I posted updates on Unilocal and kept driving by and driving by and freaking driving by, WTF when is this thing going to open? Finally it opened during the week of December 8th. Hallelujah! Is this CharHut? The restaurant is located in a strip center anchored by a Publix. All of the CharHuts I’ve eaten at have been free standing buildings. This one wasn’t. I walk in and think, this don’t look like CharHut. Where are the yellow painted walls and the accents of green and 1980’s looking tables and booths? It looked like a walked into BurgerFi. This joint is real modern with flat screen TVs, slate walls, nice tiled floors, and craft beer on tap. As I walk up to order, the cooking line was still set up like the CharHut that I’ve known to love. The smell of the meat cooking on the grill in front of me calmed my nerves that I was indeed standing in a CharHut. Order Up! I get the Double Charburger with double cheese on a wheat bun, a Big Dog Hot Dog, Frings(combo of fries/onion rings), Chicken Fingers with Fries. All to go. You shuffle down the line and watch them cooked your food to order. This is the part I love, telling them what I want on my cheese burger. I’ll have so e Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and hot relish, please. Watching them dress this thing of beauty makes my mouth water. I just wanted to reach over the glass and start eating this thing now. Keeping my emotions in check, they wrap up my food and I’m out. Taste Test I take a huge bite of my Char Cheese Burger and damn if if isn’t fantastic. Nice grilled flavor and the fresh condiments makes this cheese burger taste way better than any fast food joint. The Frings were fried perfect and were not oily at all. I did notice that when I added some malt vinegar, the paper lining that the Frings rested on kinda disintegrated. I was getting pieces of that paper as I was grabbing these babies. They need to get some old school wax paper or something. Overall, everyone in my family enjoyed their food. Verdict This place should do well. You could see that the staff was still in training mode. The flow of the service line was not as smooth as it should be and that’s normal. The décor is outstanding and I’m glad the owners are rebranding this franchise to where it should be. I love that they have craft beer but where is the Miller Lite or Bud Light? You need a good easy drinking Pilsner when you eat a burger or hot dog. Not a Funky Budda Floridian. Please don’t put lipstick on a pig, keep it real. Also folks remember this food is not cheap. Dont think you are going to walk in and find prices like you see at BK. This joint is a several notches above in quality and quantity, thus you pay for it. I’m a big fan of this franchise and I’ll be a regular customer for sure. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!
