Caffe Crema

I come from a small town where we have to drive 100 miles one way for a Starbucks. That being said, I hate Starbucks and high traffic coffee shops which makes Caffe Crema a haven for me. It’s warm, cozy, and has a great menu of drinks. My first time I had a matcha green tea latte which was delicious (a little too sweet, but still good) and my friend had a taro root latte which was a beautiful shade of purple. Their drink menu ranges from standard coffee (all pour over or siphon drip) to green tea lattes, smoothies, and bubble tea. The barista brings your drink to your table and takes her time making them so they always look beautiful and taste great. I love that I’ve finally found a cozy new coffee place to come to and relax.

I have been to my friend’s place in Iowa for first time. It was drizzling outside, so we thought its best time to grab a coffee and then we found this local café. It’s amazing taste with a blend of fine hand made barista skills! I haven’t know any place with such a great taste and skill. I would highly recommend this to anybody who is in this area!

I love this place! It’s in kind of a weird location next to a printing shop on the Coralville strip, but I think that adds to how quiet it usually is. If you aren’t looking, this is a place you’d probably miss.
If you’re looking for a cozy place to study, this is it. They have free wifi are always playing good music and the atmosphere seems a lot less hectic than say Java House or Starbucks. There are several different seating areas: a large booth area which is great if you want to study with a group, lots of tables (pretty much all of which have outlets), comfy couches, and a counter area.
The drinks here are also pretty awesome! They have a variety of coffee drinks as well as bubble tea and a few other specialty drinks. Would definitely say the coffee I’ve had here is probably the best I’ve had in the Iowa City/​Coralville area.
My only complaint is that their food is kind of limited, so if you need a study snack there aren’t a ton of options. There are a few pastries and pre-​packaged snack foods. They also serve a sandwich which is decent, but I wish there was a bit more variety. They used to serve bingsoo (Korean shaved ice) and I really wish they would bring it back!
I would definitely recommend this place if you need a new place to study or just want good coffee!

Atmosphere: perfect for working all afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of campus. Wifi is ⁸⁄₁₀
Coffee: didn’t have it but I did have a dirty chai (unsweetened) that was perfect. They use Oregon chai so if that taste works for you you’ll be happy. Side note: sad they don’t have unsweetened matcha.
Batista skills: ²⁰⁄₁₀ do you want a portrait in your latte? Come here! The barista/​owner is lovely, sweet and kills the latte art!!!

Favorite coffee shop around, hands down. Not only is the coffee great, but this is the best study spot around with outlets at almost every table (sometimes 2) and free wifi.
Best deal around is the coffee and sandwich for $ 6.

Love this place. I used to come here every week (if not every few days) to study. They have a very good tea selections — from darjeeling to oolong to roobois teas. Unlimited refills for the tea. Very friendly baristas. One of my other favorite drinks from here is the green tea latte. Not too sweet with decent accent of green tea flavor. I think everyone who loves coffeehouse should definitely check this place out.

I love the owner of the Coffee Shop, they are really nice. They brought your orders to your table, and give their sweeties smiles to you! They can make all kinds of designs on the Coffee

My son and I came here shortly after opening time. The barista was very nice. She took the opportunity to make us some samples of new sandwich ideas she had been trying. Nice to have such personal service

This place has a nice mix of comfy modern, upscale chairs and benches compared to most coffee shops. Better yet, their tables are the perfect size and height for playing card games!
The cost is about average. The music is not distracting. And they have a nice tea list compared to most.
I bought this delicious, soft «pumpkin delight cookie «which was gluten-​free, dairy-​free, egg-​free, and sans trans fats. Win! It was really good. I also had a chai latte with almond milk which was also tasty, very creamy and sweet, although they didn’t put a design in it like you’d normally see. Not that I care about that sort of thing…: shifty eyes: Okay maybe a little.
All in all, this is a nice place. Nothing way out of the ordinary, but it’s solid and I’ve always had good experiences there. Check it out!

Pretty stinkin good as an off-​the-​interstate coffee stop. It’s not super close to the road, but worth the drive. The coffee was far far tastier than any of the almost-​burnt chain stuff you’ll get by stopping at shop just off the exit.
It was a little bit of a pain to find the place, we missed it due to hard-​to-​see signage and had to U-​turn to get there. Also, the bathroom was like a rave… that is, the light was full-​on strobing, I looked around for a glowstick, or a volume knob to turn up the music. I flushed and got back on the road instead.

Best espressos and Americano I ever tasted! High quality bubble tea, definitely better than any bubble tea store in Chicago! Great environment and music!

I’ve come here a few times already in the last month. Best pearls and tea. Its so enjoyable. Great ambience. Its like an azn starbucks. Just take your time here to laze around. The slushies are really good and finely crushed. I like the passion fruit with boba. Otherwise the matcha latte is great though sweeter than i like

Wow! Not only fantastic service, friendly barista, excellent coffee, but she designed «me» in my latte! Greatest stop ever while riding bikes through Iowa on Ragbrai!
My kids had an iced coffee and dopio con panna which were perfection!

My fiancé used to always come here when she went to school at Iowa and whenever we’re back in town we make a visit. They’re so so friendly with great customer service, and they make great coffee.
Today I had an almond milk dirty chai (chai latte with shot of espresso) and it was great. My one complaint is that it seemed a little watered down but it didn’t detract from it too much. It was nice that it didn’t seem overly sweet. Also it takes a little while to get your drink.
But the nice ambiance, good coffee and friendly, homey service makes up for it!

I am in love with this place and sad I did not discover it earlier in my three years here. Now I am leaving Iowa, and I’m sad to leave this place. The coffee place. HAHA. I just discovered it two or three months ago. The coffee seems so elegant and they have so many options you wouldn’t get at Starbucks or something. AND THEY HAVE BUBBLES (tapioca pearls). Their smoothies that you put the tapioca in, they are okay. I get the coconut one which I think is EXCELLENT, but I tried some other flavors and it’s just a powder mix with ice and milk that they use, so some flavors are not the best like mixed berry, melon and thai tea. But the coconut, now that goes well with milk and ice and tapioca!
This place is so cute, and great, and good service and cozy and awesome. Go here now!

This place is sweeeeet!!! I can all the way from Cali to Iowa just to have this!!! I looked all over sd and I have no idea where I can get this green tea latte. Love it!!!

Love this place. Very good coffee and friendly staff. I like the couches. I do wish they had more food options and healthy salads, and I also wish they change their music every now and then. Good place to study or just meet with friends.

–The coffee is good. High in the running for best in the area. Several pour over options and even a siphon press.
–Attention to detail and service is well above average for coffee shops in the area.
–Lots of tables, outlets, and free WiFi
–Customer loyalty program — Buy lots of coffee, sometimes get free coffee!
The cons:
–Location isn’t great, but that’s just a personal preference.

Nice place, spacious inside. The drinks are made with the utmost care. The cream soda is not the kind you know from a can/​bottle– they make it from scratch. Good cookies too and spacious inside. Order and then sit down; they bring your drink to you. Small parking lot.
