So happy the original poster wrote a review on this place! I have been looking for a good Caribbean spot since I moved to Long Island. I went to Negril down the road on 25 a couple times but it is now closed and I couldn’t find anything else nearby. Every time the craving hit I began a new search and would find nothing between here and Brooklyn/​Queens.
When I saw the review for this I doubted whether or not it was for real. I drove to the address provided and found the restaurant but it was closed. I feared it was closed for good like Negril. But then the next day I called and to my surprise… Yvonne herself answered! I literally drove straight there!
Anyway, enough of this love story– the place is both restaurant (mainly take out but there is one table inside) and store. There are some Jamaican seasonings, drinks, cookies, breads and other items. There are movies that I think were there to rent? I ordered the jerk chicken dinner that came with rice and peas, vegetables and sweet plaintains. I ordered the ox-​tail dinner for the boy. I was going to get a couple patties also but decided I’d save that for next time. The food was great and Yvonne herself is darling! I enjoyed meeting her and made sure to express my excitement at finding her restaurant :) They’ve been here for over 20 years it seems!
The place is open Tues-​Sat and closed Sun/​Mon. They do take credit cards I believe. You should definitely check it out! Thanks Camesha R!

The joy of finding Jamaican food in eastern Long Island. My family is Jamaican so we cook regularly. However, when laziness strikes Yvonne’s is the spot to be! Yvonne, the owner is so friendly and down to earth. She welcomes everyone with love and warm conversation. I love the pride and support she shows for her country Jamaica in the Decour and memorabilia in the restaurant! Now about the food… It’s great! Yvonne will give you down-​home Island food. The restaurant is more takeout than sit down, so please take note of that. Yvonne has been here for years & I believe she has a lot more years to go! Try it out and see for yourself!
