Save your money! Was there a few months ago and the food was horrible. They couldn’t keep the food warm and most of the fried food was not crispy or crunchy. I went there again tonight hoping the last time was a fluke… glad I didn’t get my hopes up. Food was bland and some choices downright disgusting. I actually spit out a meatball stroganoff thing they had and couldn’t stand the taste of the chicken Parmesan that had a boiled appearance. Cheese sticks were hard as a rock and the dessert I had was cake with a very mushy(borderline rotten) fruit purée of some sort. Others in the party I was with expressed the same dissatisfaction with the food. Only positive was the ½ off for seniors and the waitresses service was good. However, even at ½ off its not worth it. Sad thing is I went there when it first opened several years ago and it was really good. Not sure what happened but it has gone downhill. Sorry Rolling Hills, but I won’t be back.

Went for the lunch buffet, 12:45 on a Friday. Everything was clean, well-stocked, and the service was efficient and very friendly. The food, however, was a big disappointment. Salad ingredients were either 1) from a bag or 2) old and past fresh. Even the Thousand Island dressing had little flavor. Despite the decent variety of entrees and sides, everything tasted blah, bland, spiceless, dry, tasteless. Only exception was the«wings», which had such an awful, strange, strong, sweet and chemical flavor, I had to spit my bite out into my napkin. Carved beef was again, tasteless, tough, and difficult to cut. Fried scallops were cooked til rubbery and coated in totally bland flour. Steak was fatty and full of gristle. BBQ brisket didn’t taste like anything, let alone bbq sauce. They did have some good fixings for strawberry shortcake, which I enjoyed(and had plenty of room for after«tasting» all the entrees and sides). I went here hoping to eat something better than Hometown Buffet in Chico, but it was not to be. I will not go here again.

For a casino this is the worst food anyone can serve ! They need to hire a chef or at least watch a cooking show.

They had a medium to small selection but what they did serve they did well. I don’t think they had a single bad dish. The staff here is also very nice. I would come back if I’m in the area.

Very good service. Had breakfast, was ok. Nothing too special. But for $ 5 it was a deal. Had sliced strawberries and waffles. The selection was great. Walked away stuffed.

Breakfast is great, would be 5 stars if just for that. Affordable for families with children. My favorite is the eggs benedict, made with canadian bacon not thick ham. They make many trays of it as it’s a popular item. Meat carving station is usually ham, also a full omelette bar made to order. Fresh fruit, American and Mexican style breakfasts. Danishes, bagels, toast and all that. Belgin waffles, oatmeal, large cinnamon buns… The lunch and dinners are ok. Not very flavorful as they try to appease everyone. Price is higher for those like most buffets. We only go for breakfast.

This buffet is the best your going to get in the area especially if your a traveler going down I-5 and are looking for something good to eat at a reasonable price without pulling up to some sketchy truck stop restaurant. And the breakfast is the ticket, mounds of eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, waffles, omelettes, etc.

I’m here on a Saturday. Buffet opened at 4pm $ 17 adult. Service was great. Very polite young man, addressing everyone with sir or ma’am. I think the Prime rib came from a dead horse, very tough and rough meat, very little taste. Fried oyster was ok. King crabs was ok, warm n cold. Shrimp was good. Desert was sitting on the round table it itself, no cover, nothing. Buffet worth $ 12. Not $ 17

Over the past couple of years we have had some good meals at the buffet, yet there were a few bad nights. Last night would have barely merited one star. I gave it two for old times sake. We haven’t been to the buffet for almost a year and because we needed to go to Sacramento from Redding, we decided to stop at the buffet. What a disappointment! There was not a single entrée item that was good. We could not believe how far down the buffet has gone in terms of serving good food. There was stringy pot roast pork, dried up and tasteless breaded chicken, eggplant parmesan reduced to mush, and the usual cabbage rolls served with spaghetti-o sauce, dried roast pork in an odd pink color combination and dry pasta. I might add no shrimp, usually on the menu. There was a variety of deep fried vegetable, colorless and unappetizing. We are pretty much finished with the buffet, it would take an accident of fate to bring us back.

OK, not A-ok. Something will be edible, good AC, servers attentive, easy wheelchair access. It’s lonely and limited out on the Interstate in with lots of fast food franchises. This is a fast service sit down with good AC for $ 16.99 each. Buffet has a lot of choices, not all good. Yes there is a faint smoke smell walking thru the casino,(we never-smokers always over notice every sign of smoke) but it’s not noticeable in the buffet seating. And it has AC. And cold beer. CONS: Prime rib was incredibly disappointing, dry and well done. It was delivered to the carving station brown, brown, brown, not even pink at the center. Well done roasts matched the dry vegetable lasagna, dry fried chicken, over cooked shrimp, and so –dry –the –sauce –stuck –to –the –pan cauliflower and cheese. These items were being half heartedly prodded then eventually skipped by the patrons, so continued to sit, not replaced for quality. . PROS: carved turkey breast, pork loin with apples, and pot roast were all moist and tasty. Fresh fruit and green salads were cold and crisp. Mashed were the usual«upscale»(say Idahoan rather than Betty Crocker with water) and the brown gravy was a good packaged version. Desserts were passable, tho the cheesecake was good.

The Rolling Hills buffet is one of the best places to eat on I5 north of I80. Your only alternative is franchise crap or questionable«family» restaurants. The buffet is clean with a nice variety of entrees. I plan to return.

I’m giving the buffet 3 stars because the prime rib was good. The rest of food seemed to be an American version of Mexican food. They had a nice selection of desserts and section of sugar free desserts. It was just okay, but certainly not worth over $ 16 per person. I read they have a 50% off dinners for seniors two nights a week. This sounds like a good deal because most of the people in the casino were seniors. There were several families enjoying dinner here. The kids were not running around which was nice and the resturant was clean and tidy

Nothing special. At $ 16.95 you would think this would be special but its a sad display of cheap to make entrees. They do have decent prime rib but that’s it. I would not recommend this place at all.

My wife and I remember the Rolling Hills Casino being one of the best buffets in Northern California. Recently we were traveling home from the Bay Area and decided Rolling Hills was calling our name for dinner. When we entered the building, we noticed that the normal entrance to the buffet was blocked off, with a sign that said to purchase buffet vouchers by Timbers. When we purchased the buffet vouchers I ask the cashier who to get into the buffet? She directed me to another employee who escorted us to the buffet. The buffet was located out in the parking lot under an event tent. It was eighty-five degrees out side and we ate on paper plates with plastic utensils. We were not informed of the dining area or conditions prior to buying our meal. The manager was not helpful. She offered no discount. She told us that we were welcome to go else where. The food was okay, but not what it once was. Very disappointed and I expected better customer service from a manager.

Disgusting. Easily one of the worst buffets I’ve ever been to. The food is all overcooked and thrown in the hot bins like pig slop. The beans were crusty and the fried foods soggy. All together I ate maybe a plate’s worth of food, yet my stomach hurt for hours afterwards. Take my advice, spend your seventeen bucks on dinner at a real restaurant.

Very stereotypic buffet place in the casino resort. I sometimes stop by a buffet place in the casino after backpacking. This place is convenient since it is along I-5. I stopped by on the way to the Bay Area from Trinity Alps Wilderness. It was about 7 p.m. on Sunday. Not crowded at all. $ 15.99. 50+ yeas old, $ 1 off(I’m younger than 50 btw) Food is good. Prime rib was really good, I ate 3!(well done, medium rare, very rare). You can tell how well it’ll be cooked. Fruits, salad, mexican, desert, ice cream, not bad not great, but good for a big eater.

Breakfast: 7am –11am, $ 9.95 Lunch: 11am-3pm, $ 11.95 Dinner: 4:30pm-10pm, $ 16.95 Seafood Friday: 4:30−10pm, $ 21.95 This was a small buffet, but VERYGOOD! I came in for breakfast, and the best part was I got it FREE :) If you stay at the Lodge, then they give you 2 complimentary dining vouchers per night stay! Totally worth it. I think they have a lot of locals who come in and eat, so prices are reasonable. I had a good waitress, she was nice, friendly and on time to refill my coffee :) I enjoyed my breakfast too, it was pretty good and like I said, it was FREE. Try the omelette bar, fresh made to order!

My brother and I came here looking to fill up after a day exploring the outdoors nearby. We came here because it was on the way home, didn’t want fast food, and figured we would end up spending a lot of money eating a restaurant anyways. … I was sad that there was no page created on this buffet and that I had to go in blindly… at $ 16 a person for dinner, my brother and I hesitantly tried this place… This buffet is pretty bad, especially for a casino buffet. I would say that this buffet is along the lines of Home Town Buffet. At $ 16 a person for dinner, I really did expect more! This buffet should at the MOST be $ 10, and that’s generous pricing! First off, this buffet is TINY! We already knew by the looks of it that not much could be expected but we were tired and hungry and so we ate… yes, we did fill up, but the food was not satisfying. Full but NOT satisfied! The organization of this buffet is terrible! Sweet and savory items are all in the same area. There is no clear cut separation of the sweets(desserts) from the non sweets(such as meat and potatoes). Bread pudding was located right next to the fish. The food here is also not good, especially for the HIGH prices they charge. On Saturdays, they have a seafood buffet… and @20 a person! Somehow, I don’t think the seafood buffet will impress anyone. Anyways, the food didn’t look that great, but I still tried a good number of food items. The one I liked best was probably the pulled pork. It was super tender and juicy, however, it lacked a bit in flavor. The chicken wings were also not that bad — tasty and crispy. What I didn’t like was the mahi mahi. It had so many bones and way overcooked. I also didn’t like the fried fish patty. It was overcooked and hard to eat. The fried shrimp was also nothing special. Prime rib was pretty tender… but nothing compared to say Lawry’s. The desserts here just looked really gross to me. So much so that I didn’t even bother to try any of them. It looked like they had been sitting out for a while because they all looked dried out. This place however is the only place I’ve seen mint chip and raspberry chocolate as soft serve flavors. The mint chip wasn’t bad and I packed on the almonds so that made it taste even better. For $ 16 a person… it’s really expensive and not all that edible. Since it was our first time here, we signed up for the players card. Got $ 10 freeplay… used it. I only got back $ 8, while my brother got $ 70. NOW, if you factor that in, then it was worth going to the buffet. I have no plans nor desired to eat here again. I think next time I will just opt for the fast food places on the highway. $ 16 is just tooooooo much money for a bad buffet.
