I just came back from Boca Chica and it is the last time I will be eating there. There was a hair in my food plate and I requested to speak to the manager. The manager was not in and the staff members apologized but did nothing to remediate the situation. Stay away from this place if you are not into eating human hair.

When I lived in the Bronx, mangu con tres golpes was a biweekly indulgence. In Queens, I’ve yet to notice a Dominican restaurant. I was so excited when my coworker told me about Boca Chica! Got mangu for take out and was completely satisfied. So good! Can’t wait to come back to try their other dishes.

My parents made there way here and got ceviche and some fish, each accompanied by tostones(fried green bananas). I’m not sure the prices but they said it was reasonably price. They give big portions so I was lucky enough to get some left over fish at home and it was some seriously delicious fish! I’m looking forward to going one of these days esp with the good service my parents said they got.

Boca Chica is one great seafood restaurant. You can get more than just seafood by the way. I got the grilled shrimp with tostones(fried plantains), I also got their homemade chinola juice(passion fruit). As soon as you sit down you are greeted with friendly service and a complimentary fish soup. I was told by the owners that it is family owned, a big plus for me. The food took a little extra to come out, hence the 4 stars but great food takes time.

Boca Chica is one of my favorite Dominican restaurants. The complimentary fish soup is slammin’ and so are their pastelitos and Cuban sandwiches.

Very good Spanish restaurant for Seafood. You must have the Boca Chica seafood pasta and the fish in coconut. Also the Skirt Steak and Shrimp are really good. The meat is seasoned well. Everyone loved the plantain, rice and the beans also. I am going to order from them more often. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Corona.

Worst customer service ever! Like chill, your food is okay and not to die for, definitely one of those I don’t feel like cooking but want a meal that appears home cooked. So I just placed an order or attempted to under the impression that I could pay with a credit card on the phone. After an excruitiang conversation trying to have these ladies understand me, the lady reads me back my order and is quick to rush me off the phone in which I paused her to say can I pay with a card? She says«no, so am I sending you the order?» Didn’t give me a chance to respond and decided to hang up on me… Yup, that’s so rude. Don’t hang up on me. Okay food + terrible service = 0 stars, Unilocal forces that 1 star though.

If you like seafood this is a great spot. They serve your usual hot spanish dishes as well too but i went in for fish. I had cod fish with rice. The fish was cooked in a coconut oil and was very tasty. I liked their seafood dishes because its not often you find a place that serves seafood like this. Its different and thats what i like. I would go back.

Delicious! The complimentary fish soup was a pleasant surprise and I don’t usually like fish soup. Grouper relleno was very good. The grilled seafood platter was amazing. No complaints here. It took a while to get our food but good things are worth waiting for :)

The food is good but their service sucks!!! I called in for a delivery. Waited over and hour and half wondering were my order was I called again to find out that it was still there! So if I hadn’t called I would’ve still be seating here waiting for it!!! Just horrible! Now I’m waiting. Let’s see how long this should take.

If you want to grab something fast or dine in(the portions are huge). The food here is delicious, the fish is fantastic. Everything is just so good. The milkshakes are splendid, and the prices make it even better.

Amazing mariscado! It was the first time I had it, but it was yummy. Some of the other dishes are pretty good, too :)

Dead cheap lunch special under seven bucks. You can chicken, rice, beans, plantain, and small soup. Lot of other options in the menu. Drink is very good as well. They natural juice like mango, papaya, watermelon, lemon. The music is always loud as much Dominican restaurant place. Lot of merengue, bachata in the background. The décor is average. Service is good. They also have a bar. Bar is always empty at lunch time; maybe busy during dinner. I will go back again and again:)

Well worth the trek if you happen to not live in the area. Be warned that parking is tight but not impossible. And, as one Unilocaler pointed out, it would be helpful if you spoke Spanish but it’s not completely necessary unless you’re one of those ‘this is America, speak English’ kinda people. ‘Boo’ to you if you are. I went with a large group which added to the fun, the ability to try many dishes and the waitress’ confusion. We had seafood soup, salad, mofongo, tostones, maduros, oxtail, chuletas, rice and beans(duh), grouper(I think it was grouper) and the special paella… mmmmm speacial paella! Portions were quite large and food was delicious. We ordered regular sized ‘orders’ of everything and the bill came to @ $ 18 a head… not bad at all but it could be much less if you stick to the specials… especially during lunch.

Calling all seafood lovers! Huge portions with quality food for a great price. Note: It is helpful if you speak Spanish. If not, I think you can get away with pointing but you definiately have an advantage if you can converse to ask about the daily specials! Boca Chica is a Dominician seafood joint that also serves chicken, pork and beef. But why order that when you can order their speciality of seafood? Their complimentary fish soup is so tasty that I didn’t even want to order anything else. In fact, the first time I came here I just ordered a bowl of their fish soup with a side of rice. Very hearty and satisfying. You have to ask the lady in the front what kind of fish they have for the day. If they have grouper-go for it. Amazing, fresh and tasty. They also have ceviche and shakes so go crazy here because this place is a secret gem for delicious affordable seafood. I am so glad that my colleague introduced me to this place.

This place has pretty good columbian food… haven’t been to many columbian joints, but their paella was ok… skirt steak was too well done. make sure u tell them how u want your steak… very big portions. It takes a while for the foods to be prepared though.

Very different décor and atmosphere from the Boca Chica in Manhattan. This is a family-style authentic Latin place, only the locals would go. We stumbled in and got free soup right away. The paella for 1 was indeed HUGE — no kidding, the single plate could feed at least 4 people. Lesson learned! If I’m going back there, I will bring a «gang» and a Spanish translator for sure.

For great Dominican food with plenty of seafood, you can’t beat this unless you fly to DR yourself! The paella for 1 was enough for 2 people plus leftovers! Delicious! Next time I’m going for the mofongo but just didn’t have enough room in the tummy! This is not a 4 star restaurant. It’s a nicer cuchifrito which for non spanish speaking community, it’s equivalent to a Chinese restaurant where they deliver, take out, or eat in. Be warned. Service is friendly but slow. And it helps if you speak a little Spanish! Have a drink! Morir sonando is a traditional Dominican juice which mixes orange juice and milk. It sounds like a mess but omg it’s so delicious!

Just as the upscale Domican restaurant Gabbana moves into the neighborhood, Boca Chica comes to remind us all that things change and things stay the same. Boca Chica is a treat. The tasty smell of seafood cooking is strong enough to draw you in from the street. On entering you’ll see some pre-prepared mangu(mashed plantains and onions), grilled fish, ensalada de pulpo(octopus salad). You’ll be greeted with a smile, some bachata or reggaeton but most deliciously,(if you’re lucky) a free sample of the days soup. Perfect is all I have to say about that and we haven’t even started eating yet! Had the pork mofongo(a Dominican/Carribean plantain cake) and it twas plenty and wonder-ful. Fish sandwich: bread, fried fish and salad. Tasty, so-so. Hot chocoloate(in summer you ask) delish. Whole milk with a hint of cinnamon. If I were a traditionalist I’d say that Boca Chica is «real» Dominican food. Whatever it is, I know I’ll be back for more…
