I liked the sushi we had a baked lobster roll, spider roll and something else that was very good. Pricing was not worth the serving size. The service was AWFUL !! We asked for a fork about four times and never got drink refills. Our appetizer came when we were ready to go and our waitress seemed annoyed that we wanted to take it to go instead. I wasn’t very impressed by the service or pricing here, but the food IS good.

I have been to almost every Sushi spot in Corona. My first time there was last Wednesday and let me tell you. I will never go to any other place but Kyoson Sushi. The food was amazing ans well as the service. Fish was really fresh and the amount of food they give was unreal. I will for sure be back even if it means that I have to drive from Lake Elsinore. Thank you to the staff for there hard work. Nader

It was good. Service was good… I ate the all you can eat. I guess if you don’t finish it, you have to pay face value for it including the cost of the all you can eat. Towards the end, I was about to blow chunks because the servings are HUGE. Unfortunately, if I hadn’t taken that last bite, I would’ve owed them extra. So be careful on how much you order all at once… otherwise you’ll be stuffing yourself to avoid paying extra. Hours after I finished eating, I was still hurting and wishing I had stopped sooner. hahaha

This was my second time here. We were told to seat ourselves. Server looked like it was her first job and didn’t seem to understand our orders. My friend’s daughter was brought the wrong dish and then received her order 30 minutes later when we were finished with our food. Food was okay but nothing special for the price. The tempura sauce tasted like tea. Blah! Won’t be returning. I typically don’t believe in not tipping but this will be a first.

Good ayce. They give you too much rice though. The place was busy and only one guy working the sushi bar. Service was too slow for lunch time.

I should have known by how empty this place was at lunch time that I was not in for a stellar experience. Iced green tea had an inch thick layer of matcha possibly(?) at the bottom of the glass. If you’re expecting fresh brewed, don’t. My assorted sushi plate consisted of lukewarm fish that also didn’t seem fresh. The salad was drowning in a dressing that seemed overwhelmed by sesame oil. 2 stars for the service.

Have been here before, love the specialty rolls. Decided to try the AYCE menu. It was very good. However, there seemed to be an over abundance of rice where not needed. Also, our server was nice but seemed distracted and forgot to pick up our dirty dishes or to return our order sheets. I will give it another shot because I like the place and the food.

The service is excellent! The seaweed salad is also excellent, but the sushi is average. I ordered the Rainbow Roll, not so amazing. However, the atmosphere is much better than most sushi bars in Corona. It is still worth the experience:)

They have gotten SO much better! I went there a year ago and it was terrible service but the food was good… went back and the service is much better and the food is still pretty good. I go to eat sushi/sashimi and not California Rolls like so many«sushi» eaters… its fresh and flavorful. Some items are really spicy but they are willing to tweak the item for you if you ask. The no-rice roll is our favorite(don’t remember the name) but it is pretty delicious! They could stand to lower their prices as they are a bit expensive. I have been to 6 sushi places in Corona/Norco area and so far they are my favorite.

I’ve been here twice. The first time — I was not impressed and thought — I could go without. Went here recently because I had already eaten at Marui twice this week(once for dinner and another for lunch). KyoSon recently added signs that mentioned its Korean food. Ok, thought I’d give it another try… my nephews didn’t want to go there and told me IF the food was bad they were going to blame me…(since they are only 10&12, I told them blaming is not allowed). So already I’m feeling the pressure! Aaaaiiieeeyyy!!! We walk in and there really is only one person who is the hostess, waitress, bus-person. Fortunately for us — she is talented and can do it all with a good size crowd(there were 7 of us and quite a few other diners). She filled our glasses up before we asked and managed to work the crowd without anyone being annoyed. I ordered the short-rib(Kalbi beef) lunch special — it was under $ 12. They serve you a healthy portion size which includes a considerable amount of short ribs, rice, tempura, salad and of course — miso soup. We also ordered a side of kim-chee($ 2). The flavor was pretty right on too. My nephew also ordered the short ribs and fortunately for me — it passed his expectations so I was off the hook — whew! Sonny the owner — was behind the sushi bar. He has about 4 different menus you can order from which I found a bit confusing and the ambience seems a little off(kind of like the 4 menus). One of the menus is the Korean menu — which offers daringly authentic(even for a me, a person who considers herself a culinary explorer) For example: they offered fried silk worms on that menu… ummm — no thanks! I never knew Koreans ate that before! If I were in the mood for Kalbi beef — this is the place I’d go to in Corona.

In one word: overpriced. Nigiri fish quality was decent enough, but given the size of the cuts of fish and the fact that we’re in uh, hello, CORONA! I shouldn’t be charged $ 35 for 8 smaller pieces of nigiri and a spicy tuna roll made by someone who obviously has an unhealthy fetish with Sriracha(seriously, drenched). The dressing on the salad basically tasted like soy sauce and hence was too salty to finish. The miso soup was fine. On a positive note, our waitress/hostess/busser girl(she was seriously doing all of it) was really sweet and attentive. But good service does not save mediocre food. Think about lowering your price point a bit, KyoSon. And tasting your salad dressing and CRAZYSPICY tuna roll before serving. If I were able to actually eat those two elements, maybe I wouldn’t have left feeling robbed and hungry :/

a friend of mine took us there because she saw they have ramen on the menu and we are big ramen fans. we were really hoping the ramen would be good since there isn’t ANY ramen places in corona… unfortunately, it was pretty bad. i kinda knew, just by the fact that it’s connected to a korean restaurant and has korean posters all over the walls, that this is one of those american japanese joints that won’t have any real japanese food. i thought about ordering a lunch special instead but my friend told me their sushi is just«ok» and i don’t like to eat«ok» sushi so i still ordered the ramen. we tried the miso chasu ramen, the chanpon(spicy) ramen, and this chicken, egg, and vegetables ramen. none of them were good. they were just ok. the noodles are ramen noodles at least. but the broth is boring, and very expensive($ 10). service isn’t bad, but there is only one waitress for the entire restaurant. and it’s a HUGE restaurant. so of course you don’t really get any attention her. i did notice the sushi chef is pretty friendly and chatted with his customers though. but again, it was a HUGE sushi bar and he was the only chef so i can’t imagine getting that great of a service from him either. we won’t be coming back. but i’m interested to try out the korean side of the restaurant.

I like this place, and have been a few times. Its not a 5 star for me, but its decent. I can’t remember any dishes I’ve ordered since its been a long while since I last showed up. The rolls are tastey, the food’s not bad… but the SERVICE is Horrible! You just sit, and sit, and sit, and sit… waiting for someone to come along. They either don’t show up at your table to take your order, or don’t refill, and even worse, constantly forget what they were supposed to bring per your request. Overall its ok, but when your restaurant is more then half empty and your service is nonexistant, there’s a huge problem. Service means a lot to everyone, so ya might need to fix it.

I would highly recommend AVOIDING KyoSon Sushi, based on the lack of service, poor environment, and very bad quality food. Please read my entire review, as it might save you time, money and unnecessary disappointment. I have visited this restaurant a total of five times. You might be asking why I’d bother visiting a 1-star restaurant five times? I’ll briefly list my reasons as to why I would bother to visit a poor-quality establish a total of five times. My first trip resulted in me walking out with my group after 15 minutes of NOSERVICE upon being seated in a mostly empty restaurant. I vowed never to go back, and I kept that promise for almost a year. The second time I was asked to go with my family, and I hadn’t seen my family in quite a while. Rather than fight it, I decided to go to be with everyone. The food was mediocre, and the service was bad, which actually was an improvement over the non-existent service from before. I then visited the restaurant on a business meeting and also upon hearing that my favorite, long-time Corona sushi chef Steve was working here. The food was fairly mediocre, and the service, other than Steve’s joyful personality and decent sushi, was very below average. The fifth and most recent visit was tonight, and again, my family asked me to meet them there and obliged. As much as I love my family, I will absolutely not be meeting them here again(and that is saying a lot, since I would do anything for my family). However, I don’t think it will be a problem since my family doesn’t plan to return. Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by the inviting scent of CHLORINE. Yes, chlorine. Oddly enough, we expected it, since the harsh cleaning chemicals were noticeable on previous visits too. We were seated by a kind girl who apparently was working as hostess, waitress, cashier, «bus girl,» etc. The restaurant was surprisingly«busy», with approximately 5 or 6 tables and a handful of people at the bar. We waited for nearly 7 or 8 minutes before being asked if we’d like a drink. After ordering drinks, it was another 5 minutes to receive them, and they were wrong. The iced green tea that I ordered was awful, and after trying to drink it, I asked to switch it out for regular iced tea. We ordered appetizers and entrees. During this time a «VIP» party arrived and were immediately seated, brought drinks, and they were asked for their order. Within 5 minutes their party had drinks and rolls. We also noticed other groups seated at the same time as us had not even received drinks yet, so we considered ourselves«lucky.» Our rolls were average. Not bad, but nothing special. Our salad was also very average. Around this time I was brought another glass of iced tea, which was supposed to be plain black iced tea, but actually tasted raspberry iced tea(which was on the menu, but not ordered by me). 20 minutes later we received our bowls of ramen. I love ramen, and it’s hard to disappoint me, but this was THEWORST bowl of ramen I have ever, ever had. The noodles were so overcooked they tasted like, and had the consistency of, paste. There were no vegetables, and the«chicken» was nothing but fat, skin, and what appeared to be entrails. The menu detailed that vegetables were in the soup/ramen, when in reality these«vegetables» consisted of one piece of broccoli and a few pieces of seaweed. Around this time we noticed that at least one other, and possibly two, parties voiced their opinion and left the restaurant without ordering their food, due to a lack of service. The waitress, while very sweet and well mannered, really seemed as though she could care less about what was going on. Perhaps she was overwhelmed, and perhaps they needed a manager or more servers on site, but regardless, the service was terrible tonight, just as it has been terrible on my previous visits. All in all, I felt as though we were ripped off for $ 60 tonight — yes, $ 60 for 3 bowls of ramen, two tempura rolls, one salad, an iced tea and a soft drink. I wouldn’t mind spending $ 100 on a quality meal with my loved ones, but nothing dampens your spirits worse than a poor meal, poor service and a poor environment. *Additionally, on previous visits, I had noted to myself and my group that the waiters and waitresses are VERY cold, impersonal, and in some cases rude. The food is usually hit or miss, and even the«hits» are average at best. If I were to never have been exposed to ramen or sushi before, and this was my first and only experience, I would honestly never even fathom the thought of trying it again. The whole experience at this restaurant has been that bad. I’d love to hear that they turn it around one day, as Corona really needs quality independent restaurants rather than the fast food chains that are everywhere, but given that KyoSon has been here for nearly a year and there haven’t been any improvements, I’m afraid I won’t be visiting again anytime soon.

My mom and I popped in for a Nigiri lunch. The fish was fresh enough, portions large … but their sushi rice was a little bland like they didn’t mix enough vinegar/salt/sugar into it. The space is huge, so it might be a good place to bring a big group. But then again, it would have to be a big group of peeps who like mediocre sushi. Okay, am I being kinda bitchy? I suppose so, but I figure with sushi joints on literally EVERY corner businesses just have to be a little bit more innovative, polished, and thorough to make sure their diners’ experiences are good ones.

AWESOME sushi place! right off the 15 freeway in Corona. My favorite food is japanese so I LOVE trying out new japanese restaurants. Kyoson is by far one of THEEBEST sushi I’ve ever had in the southern california area. Its hard to judge a sushi place just based on their rolls since so many places have their own unique style to each roll. If you compare the actual SUSHI(fish).then u’re onto something. I could of told u right off the bat, the sushi was fresh, without having to eat it! You can definitely tell the quality of fish by just looking it. They give you large portions and it tastes great! The service is great and on par. I say ‘on par’ because the waiters/waitress do what they’re supposed to and Im not the type of person that expects them to bend over backwards for me. The sushi chefs are awesome! They interact with the customers. the way it should be. They’ll usually have a drink with you also which is a VERY respectable thing to do, I like that. on a side note, this place is HUGE! compared to other sushi restaurants. Definitely a place I would recommend to have a large party(group of people) for. Usually, when a restaurant is this big, the quality of service may drop a point or two.BUT.from what I could tell, they had NO problems keeping up with their customers. AWESOME job! I definitely recommend this place for anyone that loves sushi! In fact… I think I’m going to go back this weekend. ;]

I always drove by this place, but it was never open. Just a few days ago I finally went because the«Soon» in «Opening Soon» became«Now» or «Opening Now.» Any way, I was pretty excited because I love sushi and love finding new sushi places to eat, after all their SUSHI sign is HUMONGOUS. So we drive up to the restaurant and realize the place is actually larger than it appeared off the freeway exit(Ontario). We enter the place and are immediately greeted by the sushi chefs(on the right side with bar) and the hostess. I look towards the left side and realize this place is one of the largest ones I’ve been to in Corona. Nicely decorated. We get our menus, and a sushi paper. We push the menus to the side, because honestly, I’m here for the sushi. They had a pretty large selection with variety. There were the typical rolls and different rolls, such as the Marilyn Mon-Roll, something Mountain, etc. What was great about the selection, was that there were rolls with out rice, a good option. We ended up getting four different rolls: Marilyn Mon-Roll(this had no rice with soy paper), the Mountain, Lobster Roll(lobster +California Roll), and the Ninja-rito or Ninja Burrito(this one had no rice). The prices were pretty hefty, so my group and I expected these rolls to be awesome and large if anything. After we decided what we wanted, we waited a good 5 – 7 minutes to put our order in. This made me kind of upset considering we were the only group of two groups sitting at a table with the rest of the customers(about 10) at the bar. Finally, we saw the waiter and had to wave him down to get our order. Now to the food. So, we get our first two rolls, the Ninja Burrito and Marilyn Mon-roll. Awesome presentation. The Ninja Burrito really looked like a burrito cut into pieces. The soy paper with sesame seeds looked like a mexican tortilla, which gave away the burrito part. Quite delicious. The Marilyn Mon-roll, wow, really pretty. This one was deep fried and cut into pieces. The chef decorated the pieces together to look like a flower. This roll included spicy tuna and I forget what else. All I remember that this roll is hot, literally. Very Very spicy. I think they got carried away with the hot sauce. I like it when I order spicy tuna and get it spicy, but not TOO spicy. I had to drink a lot of water with that roll. Since it was one of our first rolls, it kind of overpowered the rest of the rolls I had thereafter. Next were the Mountain and Lobster Roll. Lobster rolls are always good(tempura lobster with mayo+ Ca Roll). I had my first bite and immediately tasted a bunch of mayo. I’m assuming they make their own spicy mayo here. It was a little too mayo for my liking and I couldn’t taste the rest of the ingredients besides that mayo. The Mountain Roll, another deep friend dish, that literally looked like a huge mountain. It is made so that it actually looks like a mountain. Our first thought was, «How do we eat that?» We picked it up from the top and realized it was already cut into pieces, with the largest piece at the bottom. Again, this one had spicy tuna and some other fishes. It tasted really good, but I wish the tuna inside the roll was actually a little more raw. I love when I get that hot+ cold deal, but I guess they like to cook it a little longer in the deep fryer here. Also, I think this roll was drenched in hot sauce. REALLY hot that I felt like it was unbearable to eat. We decided to get a dessert afterwards, being that there were two desserts on the menu worth trying. A Banana dessert and a Green Tea Brulee. The waiter told us that the Green Tea Brulee is actually made from scratch and is really good. So we order that. We get it in a medium sized, oval shape container. I put my spoon in and it was actually kind of hard to break through the sugar coat on top at first. The part at the bottom looked like mashed avocado and didn’t really taste like green tea. If anything, I wished it tasted like the mashed avocado it looked like, cause I like avocado. The sugar coat felt like thin glass pieces of sugar in my mouth, and not the type of sugar I like on the typical crème brûlée I have tasted. I think they got carried away with their light torch or something. I definitely wouldn’t get this one again. And lastly, I could say a thing or two about bar seating. My seat overlooked the bar area and the sushi chefs really interacted with the customers a lot. And like some sushi bars, they drank with their customers. It was pretty funny. So over all, I give it just three stars. One for a nice restaurant. Another for the selection on their menu. And the last one for their generous, large portions of sushi. Since this place just opened I am being kind of nice. How ever, most places that just open, make some changes in the beginning. I would definitely go back to see if they made any change
