My husband and I go here all the time. Fresh zabihah organic meats. Wonderful variety of meats, spices, some sweets, teas, frozen foods including frozen homemade samosas too which we love. Spice It Up also has hot foods so enjoy a hot delicious meal while you’re out. The staff is very kind and helpful too and glad to see you which is a plus. We are trying to eat healthier and that starts with fresh organic zabihah meats, so everytime we shop here we’re glad we’re we did. :*)

Best place to buy Henna, natural oils, soaps, herbs, olives and teas. They have natural remedies for common medical issues. Their prices are the best in town. Some items do not have English translation on the package but the staff is very patient and helpful to explain each item.

Store carries a lot of Middle Eastern staples I can’t find around my area. I would definitely return. Just a bit tight between aisles & I get claustrophobic.

No. No, no, no, no. On more than one occasion, some very questionable and unsanitary meat handling practices. Will be making a monthly trip to OC for my meat.

Sad day. We have come here for years to buy chicken and lamb. Today we purchased ground chicken and chicken thighs, legs, and wings. The ground chicken was excellent as normal. However, the chicken thighs, legs, and wings smelled horrible. We called them up and explained to them that they were bad. They had no problem with it over the phone and neither did we. When we got there we simply wanted the refund we were promised so we can finish making dinner at home. They ended up pulling some ridiculous excuses. For example, «You probably left it in the car, it was a hot day» and«Next time smell the chicken before you leave the shop». They offered 50% off as a refund because they have been«Working there for six months and were experienced». At that point I started getting irritated and just wanted the refund. We have been coming there for years with no problems until today. The level of disrespect has wiped away our respect for the store. Good luck to all who buy from this store. We hope they better their quality and hospitality for everyone else. ***Reminder: Please remember to ask the butchers to wash their hands before they grab your meat and cut it up. It’s not a high priority for them.

This place is a rip off. Ordered 2 combo plate that the picture show with salad. All I got was like a teaspoon of beef curry and chicken curry. No meat was in both curry. Beef had some bones but with a lil tendon on it but that’s it. F this place.

This review is about MEAT, and LAMB specifically. My friend Wendy’s old review popped up somehow and i am grateful. Shopped there Saturday afternoon. The people were nice. Bought: Lamb shanks: $ 3.99/lb fresh and $ 4.99/lb frozen. 3 frozen lamb shanks were $ 10.00 something and 1 lb. carrot bags 50 cents. I like to cook with lamb — roasts/stews. One of my favorite dishes is Osso Bucco. TIP: substituting lamb shanks for the very expensive and not easy to find veal shanks in Osso Bucco works wonderful and easy enough to prepare, yet generally an expensive entrée in Italian restaurants(plenty recipes on line). At Spice It Up Market — they sell both fresh and frozen and a variety of many different lamb cuts and all very reasonably priced. Also chicken, incl. ground chicken and a good variety of beef cuts. The fresh meat looked fresh and everything looked good. Will definately go back soon when i have more time to browse their spices & big selection of juice and juice drinks. Halal Markets sell no alcohol, so the bonus is that many of them sell quite a range of juices/juice drinks from different parts of the world. Saturday afternoon the prepared food trays were already empty. Not my first food choice anyway. Halal prepared food tends to be much more spicy then Indian.

I wouldnt recomend eating here. Or atleast not what I ordered. Got halwa puri which costed $ 7.50. The entre definately doesn’t match the picture. I got three teaspoon of halwa & chole had so much salt that I had to throw away. Eventually I ended up paying for something I didn’t even eat.

When you order food make sure you ask guys behind the counter to wash their hands. The cooks are freaking careless and disgusting. I have had a chance to visit this place few times… here is my take. I ordered some tandoori chicken and bread to go. No use of gloves, in the middle of naan making phone starting to ring– he stopped what he was doing and answered the phone– after that he grabs something from the floor throws it in the trash– and started making naan. Nope, he didn’t wash his hands. point blank disgusting. Went to the counter, told one of the owner what I just witnessed he said okay but didn’t do anything. Guess he was expecting me to take the food anyway lol… I told him it’s disguesting and it’s not the first time i saw them do it… he said okay. I cancled my order and left. They didn’t apologize nor offered to wash hands and remake naan(bread). I never went back… just disguesting– I will not recommend buying open food from that place.

Corona, not that long ago, was composed of primarily Latin American and white European residents. In the 30 years I have lived here, I have watched it change into a nice blending of worldwide ethnicities. We have come a long way. Enter Spice It Up Market. The store, Halal meat market and deli has been a happy, giving member of our community. It has been great watching them grow and succeed. That’s because their customer service is great. When I need something like a Middle Eastern component for a cooking ingredient, I come here. You can find some harder-to-find fresh meats such as ground chicken, and special cuts of lamb that are more commonly used in Middle Eastern cookery. Their imported goods are abundant, and you can find fresh pita, huge bags of basmati rice, sweets, and so on. My only hesitation is trying the prepared foods at the hot deli section, only because they are more spicy-hot than I can personally handle. But I am an admitted wuss. They have a small, clean dining area for enjoying their deli foods.

These guys dont cut you short on service or taste, the«Nahari» dish they make on occasion is ABSOLUTELY amazing and you can never go wrong with their chicken tikka or kabobs. My absolute favorite is the papdi chaat — i think i spelled that wrong, its what i call the Pakistani version of nachos and i love it at this place. Great guys, hand slaughtered meats, and great dishes and a market all at affordable prices that compete with anyone in the area. Thumbs up for sure
