A solid 3 – 3.5 stars. Really just what you want in a solid breakfast. Very reasonably priced food, attentive service, nice outdoor atmosphere. Inside seating is a little odd. Sure you could go to more fancy places, but why when all you really want are some good eggs, toast and pancakes?

Amazing, after going on a long walk, we ended up in this little bistro. We sat outside and had a great brunch. The Italian omelette was wonderful, also the Marilyn was incredible. Finally the crab eggs Benedict was so flavorful! «Laura’s» homemade preserves were so tasty… The staff was great and gave suggestions on touring options. We may have to come back on this trip.

Not only was the exterior and interior appearance appealing to the eye, but the food was exceptional. Though many restaurants claim to uphold the commonly demanded«natural», «unprocessed» expectation, there is rarely a distinct difference in the taste of their food. However, this restaurant met and exceeded all of our high expectations. We were especially pleased by their preserve harvested berry jam. Delicious! The pricing was pleasantly affordable as well. Overall, this was a great dining experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for great, wholesome breakfast food with a great price!

Just had my farewell gathering here with my co workers and although this place is extremely small, the food was good and they were able to accommodate our big group. Loved my Banana Fosters French Toast so much that I didn’t even get a picture! I plan on returning.

Thought I had reviewed this before. This place is a gem. My wife and I had breakfast here today. Not our first time here. I had the Italian Sausage and Gorgonzola cheese Omelette. It came with hash browns and toast. All was good. The combination of the two ingredients was somewhat overpowered by the cheese. My wife had the Strawberry waffles with ricotta cheese and fresh cream. Both were great. Have no hesitation going back.

I’m sure it can get cramped on the weekend but the dishes are fab. Ricotta waffles and crab eggs Bennie. Quick service, quickly served. Worth stopping off for a new experience.

Incredible little place! The homemade preserves on every table were my favorite thing I ate on my entire trip to San Diego/Coronado Island! I had the Mexican crab omelette(off of the daily specials menu) and it was fantastic! My mom had French toast– delicious, fluffy, and it was incredible how the egg was soaked all the way through the very thick bread. There are only about 10 tables in the entire place and half of them are outside, which makes for such a quaint atmosphere. Plus, the wait staff is friendly and attentive. My coffee was never below half-full, which is truly saying something since I drink a TON of coffee. I will definitely be back to this little bistro the next time I’m on Coronado Island!

The breakfast here was fantastic. I had the lemon poppy pancakes-which were very tasty– while my wife had the huevos rancheros. The huevos came with refried beans and a delicious tomatillo sauce that had quite the kick! We also shared a side of hash browns that were the least bit greasy. It’s a little off of the main strip but it’s well worth the walk.

Only beer and wine served. Expensive for no good reason. The crab Benedict tasted old. Mimosas were ok. Service was pretty good, ambiance was nice outside, other than a little crowded.

Presentation of the food excellent. Taste not so much. Service not good, small and crowded. We had breakfast. Good but I wouldn’t come back.

Live in area and decided to finally try after many years. Service wasn’t just bad but demeaning. We started out by asking if there was seating on the patio knowing the answer was yes and were told no, despite the fact that we were looking at 2 open tables. Instead of explaining what’s in the soup of the day the waiter asked in a confrontational manner if we know what florentine means as if we were about to waste his time. We asked for a wine list and were told they have red or white. We asked if there’s a list again and he says yes but it has 42 wines on it. After waiting 10 minutes for waters we decided to leave prior to ordering. Definitely some of the worst, non-customer oriented service we ever experienced. We can’t comment on the food because the service was so poor we didn’t make it that far.

Super cool waiter! Top notch food from the Bananas Foster French toast with ice cream to the inlets and homemade strawberry jelly! Not one complaint from anyone in the family. I highly recommend!

Very cute little restaurant attached to a hotel. The waitress seemed to be in a hurry, but she tended to our needs and provided specials options. I got a meal with sausage hash Browns, Eggs and toast– very simple breakfast and it was delicious. The pork sausage definitely being the highlight, although the perfectly crisped hash Browns would be very close behind.

Cute bistro with fantastic food in Coronado ! Came on a Thursday early afternoon to late morning for breakfast. Originally was told it might be a 20min wait, to our surprise it was less then 5 for a table for 2. Sat outside again cute café maybe 15 – 20 tables total, half outside and half inside. The outside had plants and a white overhang with a little fountain, very classy which is typical Coronado. What was extraordinary was the food. I ordered the ricotta waffles topped with a strawberry sauce and whip cream. It was presented as waffle sandwich switch a ricotta filling topped with sauce and whip cream. The strawberry sauce was sweet with hunks of strawberry but complimented the ricotta in that the waffles were not overly sweet. The waffles were warm and prepared well. Everything was reasonably priced(my waffles were between $ 9 – 11) and another thing I liked is they had big drinking glasses so you didn’t have to constantly ask for a refill. Would love to go back!

Crown Bistro was fantastic. When we were in town visiting Coronado, this was the highest rated on Unilocal,so we knew we had to go. Well, we barely snuck in: we were the last table before they closed for brunch. The Crab Benedict was amazing as was the scramble was amazing as well. The mimosas with grenadine was well worth the price. I highly recommend this place.

Unilocal’s 365 Review Challenge 2014 #338 — #365 A hidden gem indeed on Coronado Island. Breakfast of champs resides here at the Crown Bistro that is also connected to the Crown City Inn. The outside looks like a cottage and not too big inside; Anyways we needed a good breakfast and not fast food. So I did a quick search and found the Crown Bistro with excellent reviews. We were seated right away and our waitress gave us our drinks right away. The inside isn’t too big and they have a huge mirror inside making the place look bigger. They have a restroom connected to the Crown Bistro and outdoor seating with umbrellas. Our food arrived and the servings are very generous. I ordered Banana Fosters French Toast with vanilla ice cream and the food was excellent! All of us were amazed of how our food turned out and loved the large portions served with affordable prices. Crown Bistro will be my go to place for breakfast whenever I’m down in San Diego. Good portions! Excellent service!
