Delightful little chocolates at this adorable candy shop located in the Hotel Del. A bit pricey but everything in Coronado is pricey. The employees were patient as i drooled all over wondering what the heck I wanted to stuff my face with. Really good and tent validate for parking too. We’re locals(San Diego) and of course will be back when we visit again. Such a fun and nostalgic area. A must visit.

First came here in 1999, and I’ve been back sporadically throughout the years just to make sure that the shop is still in existence. They sell a bunch of really cute items, such as miniature cookies, gummy candies, fresh fudge, and various novelty items. Prices are reasonable and the items work wonderfully as gifts.

Second time I come. First, just out of curiosity. Five years later I come back. Chocolates are so good that I took a cab from downtown San Diego JUST for buying some for my girlfriend. Variety is decent but it is a candy store, not a chocolate store. Pricey

Yum, delicious orange crème fudge and chocolate popcorn. Cute décor of the place. Seeing the sight of candy made me drool because I have a huge sweet tooth. There was nothing extraordinary about the sweets, but this cute little candy shop located in Hotel del Coronado was a fun stop to fix my chocolate craving after lots of sightseeing.

Killer Truffles and more!!? YES, this little nook of a gem is located at The Hotel Del Coronado Hotel in the boutiques & shops area. =============================================================== Marty & I make it a tradition to visit this hotel every Christmas season and how we missed out on this place is unknown to us, but we visited; I’ve been to many chocolate, confectioneries & truffles shops etc., but this place takes the cake-literally! Their selection is increadable, eclectic, inventive, appealing to the eyes, fresh and, worth the cheat without the guilt because ALL of the ingredients are natural; lacking any saturated oils, fats and the ilk that makes most shops of this kind a don’t for us. Everything you are looking for here is huge, some pricy (Hey, what candies & confections are not!?), and some within anyone’s price range; either way the value is there… did I say the sizes are King Kong Dong Huge?! Yes, I did, I just get so excited thinking about them! The staff & owners are very cool, kind, helpful and patient folks, who truly have a passion for their business. We BOTH felt welcome and, conversed even after closing with the husband & wife team, they are sweeter than the confections they sell! My pics do not do their ware justice and, I highly recommend visiting this Little Shop of Do Not Look at the Scale on the Floor after you consume their delicious delights! Anytime is the right time time to visit Spreckles at The Hotel Del. Marty & I just prefer this time, well you know us guys:

This cute little candy store, located within The Del, offers a wide variety of candy — though none of it made on the premises. The woman working there said the candy comes from different vendors from all over the country. The fudge is imported from San Francisco and the chocolates from Texas. The store smells amazing and is really put together well(with some interesting & rarely seen items), but the prices are ridic! This is definitely geared toward the resort tourist with money to throw away on little fun luxuries. As a local, most of these candies are found elsewhere for a lot less money and probably with a smaller carbon footprint being made locally.

Spreckles Sweets & Treats is a cute little candy store located in the shops at the Del. Besides having a delicious selection of candy, they also sell treats for our four-legged friends. We noticed the wonderful smell of chocolate even before we spotted the store. But it was the adorable window displays that drew us in. A picture of the store’s «mascot»(a black dog) and a beautiful array of candy filled the picture perfect windows. The store had a nice selection of candy and unique gifts. Candy, books, and other cute items filled the shelves. While a huge glass case was filled with a good assortment of chocolate, the rest of the store had treats for both dogs and people alike. We ended up with the caramel salty and a large chocolate covered pretzel. Both pieces of candy were delicious. Behind the counter, we found adorable little cookies for our pooches and fun dog-themed gifts. Even though our dogs weren’t able to accompany us on this visit, we ended up picking each of our boys a tasty cookie. We were happy to see that ours dogs enjoyed eating their biscuits the following day. The customer service was also really good here. The salesperson was friendly and helpful with each of the customers. When we asked tons of questions about all of the great flavors of candy, she seemed genuinely happy to answer questions. Although the candy might be a bit pricey here, I thought the store made up for it with a nice selection of chocolate, fun gift items, and great customer service. It will be one of our first stops we make when we’re back in Coronado!

Cute little shop located inside the Hotel Del Coronado. I love the whole little black dog concept, as an animal lover. That aside, I don’t love the premium prices. Bought an average sized bar of chocolate(think: about the size of a Snickers) for $ 4. The chocolate was good but nothing out of this world. Nothing that warranted $ 4… maybe $ 1.79, or so, like a normal chocolate bar. Again — such a cute concept — and I really do love it — but a bit on the pricey side… so I’ll pass next time. Maybe. Unless I’m lured in by the black dog… again.

This candy shop brought me back to my childhood. We use to take a road trip to CT and my dad would let us each buy one piece of candy. I usually bought the flavored candy canes or rock candy. This sweet shop had a great selection of flavored candy canes. A lot were citrus flavored, which I love. I was a little sad that they didn’t have the standard green apple, which is always my go to. I was however, overjoyed to hear that each candy cane stick was only $.95 so I bought 3 different flavors since I couldn’t decide. Their rock candy selection was a bit pitiful. They have a great variety of sweets and baking books to keep you browsing in their shop. I also liked their cute puppy logo. I agree with the other reviews about the service not being particularly friendly. They were nice but not… sweet… :)

I love that you can smell the sweets from outside of this cute little shop. But… Their display case of chocolates looked mediocre… as a lover of chocolates, I was really only drawn to the almond toffee. The ladies at the counter were kind of pushy on trying to sell their«Buy 5 get one free» promotion. No thanks, I would only like 2 of your expensive goods. Although this is a good place to stop by while at the Hotel Del Coronado., just be aware… you will buy overpriced chocolates and gifts.

Was at the Hotel Del Coronado and came across the cutest little candy store… having by far the biggest sweet tooth I begged the group of friends i was with to just wait a bit while I run in for a few. So ran in looked over their treats… they have so cute gift ideas… I myself could produce the same confections they sell and probably better. I bought some«white chocolate and peppermint covered cookies» … they were stale :(… on top of some stale treats the same goes with their service. there were two women working one register. no «hello» «how are you» or anything. they didn’t even give me a bag for my purchase! I’m not sure about them … no body else was in the store … the hole thing just felt very impersonal. just another SADFACE review. ~christina
