The Signature Shop at the Hotel Del Coronado

The Signature Shop is the Hotel del Coronado’s main gift shop. Located in the hotel’s lobby, this store has a nice selection of gift items and clothing.
We originally came here to grab some aspirin. The sundries section was really small. We actually had trouble finding any Excedrin. With no one in the store to help find basic items, we just grabbed the first item we could find.
We then had some time to wander around this cute store. My son found a snow globe and a book on the hotel’s history. We also found some nice clothing (mostly for men and a pretty small selection for women), some fun gift items like mugs, frames, and magnets with beautiful pictures of the hotel on them, and good selection of books and other informational items.
Even though there were plenty of customers walking around the store, we didn’t find any sales people until we had shopped for a while and needed to pay for our items. When we did finally find someone, the service just wasn’t very friendly.
On our next visit to The Del, we’ll head down to the Shops at the Del for individual stores (Est. 1888, Spreckles, Blue Octopus, and Australian Opals and Gems, just to name a few) to find unique items with better customer service.
It too bad the service was nonexistent at the Signature Shop because the store really does have a decent selection of gift items here. Until the service improves, we’ll shop at The Del’s other fun stores instead.
