Five stars for being a great dive bar. The doors swung open in 1948 by Mr. Chavez(RIP) and is owned by his family. Great music is in the air. WAIT. Nevermind. Van Halen? I don’t care much for over processed guitar tone. Maybe people will dance the night away. However, this is the type of place Mötley Crüe would have performed if they did not have the Whiskey a Go Go. Anyway, the bartender was nice to us newbs and knew the regulars by name, along with their drink of habit. Aaaaaaand, have you ever heard of a bar inviting the patrons back for a potluck the next day? Brilliant! Why not, it’s Labor Day weekend. Cheers!

I love this bar. I think Toby Keith wrote that song for Stephen, the owner of this little dive bar in my home village. I can always count on seeing someone I know and enjoy relaxing here with friends and my Bud Light Lime. Lisa has been the bartender here forever and it is so fun to catch up with her. Bring cash. That’s all they accept. Have fun.

I love Sandia cause it’s just a dive bar and it’s super close. But it’s expensive for a dive bar. And I mean, 7 – 8 for just a Maker’s neat. That’s ridic. The local flavor is fun and adds to the experience. They have a modern jukebox but it’s kinda pricey too. The pool table is there and if you stick around, someone will always talk to you. But it’s cash-only and like I said, expensive for a dive. Choose their own hours too.
