Dr Boland IV is the best. He’s very caring and gives great advice. He’s taken great care of my husband and me for almost 20 years, and Elizabeth is wonderful. Believe all the 5 star reviews!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Boland IV for approximately 20+ years now. (I saw his dad, Dr. Boland III a few times before that.) It’s a family-​run practice which is great. Elizabeth is awesome and handles all billing and paperwork like a pro — never had a problem. If someone doesn’t answer the phone, I always get a call back in a few minutes. Awesome. They always call the day before to remind you of your appointment, which sometimes is great for me! They do have a week or two of filled appointments, so making an appointment ahead of time is almost always necessary.
Initially, as a kid, I thought their office was great as they had TV’s in the ceiling’s with headphones, so I could drown out whatever was being done in my mouth. John Boland IV doesn’t seem to use the TV with me, as I think he prefers a more personal approach, and I guess in hindsight, I like that better too. Much more personable. Even after not seeing him in six months for a checkup, he remembers fine details that we talked about on our last visit! I’ve accused him of writing down details of stuff we’ve talked about in past visits but I think he actually has a great memory and is the nicest guy. And HE actually does pretty much everything — X-​Rays, cleaning, fillings. Amazing.
I can’t say enough good words. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes, so I’ve never been able to read their awesome selection of auto magazines or played their waiting-​room video games. Guess I’ll have to get there earlier. I’ve referred several friends to him as well.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Boland IV for about ten years now, and he is a fantastic dentist. He’s the ONLY dentist I’ve ever had who cleans my teeth himself, as opposed to having a hygienist do it, which is unheard of to me!!! He really knows what he’s doing and I feel completely confident trusting anything he tells me about my teeth. Elizabeth’s a doll and it’s always nice to see her upon arrival. The longest I’ve ever waited to see Dr. Boland was maybe five minutes. He really is the best.
A bonus: you can’t beat their stash of Redwood and Tamalpais High School yearbooks from the 80’s and early 90’s — it’s so fun to look up your friends while you wait!!!

Upon moving to Marin, I selected Dr. Boland for our family’s dental needs after a recommendation from our dear friends who have been patients of the Bolands’ for many years. We are always greeted by Elizabeth; she is a charming and professional office manager. As a family dentistry business, the Bolands instill confidence with their knowledgeable team and a warm and caring approach to their dental work. I’ve been very pleased (and my boys love the mini arcade… very kid friendly).

Dr Boland IV is the best dentist around. My whole family has been going to this office for many, many years. I’ve had both Dr Boland III for pediatrics and Dr Boland IV for general. Both are excellent at what at what they do and make any fear of dentists dissapear. Dr Boland IV is very kind, intelligent, and caring. He actually cares about his patients and I will often find myself telling him all about what has been going on in my life. He will not only do the work perfectly, but he will accept nothing less than perfect. You will not be dissapointed-​this office is the best dentist office I’ve been in, and I’ve certainly been in many offices in the area. I highly recommend Dr Boland, if only I could give it more than 5 stars.

I have been going to Dr. Boland IV for over 15 years. Never have I had a problem with billing or Dr. Boland’s prices. I hate going to the dentist because as a child, my parents tried to save money by using a program called serial extraction to reduce the number of teeth in my mouth by having a dentist remove them. Needless to say, I was extremely hesitant to ever sit in a dentist’s chair ever again. Dr. Boland IV is an excellent dentist, I know that he went to UC Berkeley and dental school at UC San Francisco. He cleans my teeth personally, not using a hygienist. When I need pain relief and calming measures, I am readily afforded them at a moment’s request. I needed a crown and he personally crafted one for me. I like the fact that the dentist is friendly and complimentary because unless you are a masochist who enjoys pain; I want a pleasant experience. This is why I keep coming back to see Dr. Boland IV. I do not know what Ann R.‘s problem is but for me, this is THAT PLACE.
