For some odd reason, there are a limited number of liquor stores in Marin. The only places you can really go to buy booze(especially after 8pm) are supermarkets and CVS stores. Maybe it’s a suburban thing. I don’t really know. In any case, that’s why a store like Colonial Liquors is worthy of praise. These guys have been serving up beer/wine/spirits + basic kitchen/party products(chips, gum, soda, ice, etc.) for as long as I can remember. They have parking right in front, and there’s never a long wait to buy your goodies. I can’t think of a more convenient convenience store in the Larkspur/Corte Madera area.

lf you are looking for a friendly package store this is it. The clerks are both friendly and helpful. I especially want to thank Jose, for making my frequent shopping experiences there one of the high points of my day.

I just want to say that as someone who has worked retail for most of my life I know the difference between true customer service and shrink or loss prevention. Having someone hover over you all the time isn’t being helpful it’s creepy and weird. I will shop where I feel comfortable where the people who run the stores know me. Also you can always tell if their is a «customer service» program in place because its like they are on a script. Yes Robotic Employee #75647 I am finding everything alright today… Thank you. Also to the employee who kept asking me about my job in the military… how about you mind your own business… I furnished you with my ID at your request that isn’t an open invitation to get to know me… I don’t care what you used to do stop being a creepy loser and ring up my purchases so I can pay and never come back.

Thank you for being open on Christmas. And for being extremely nice. And especially for carrying good wine. You have just earned a loyal customer.

Nice to have in the hood. Get your lottery tickets, a nice bottle of wine, sherry for the recipe you decided to make at the last minute, and even paper towels! In other words, great for all the little stuff in life — who needs 7Eleven when we have the perfect neighborhood liquor store right here?

This store has late hours, a great selection of wines and competitive prices. What more can you ask from your neighborhood liquor store?

I’ve come here a couple of times while I’ve been dog– and house-sitting in the area. It definitely seems like it’s out of place in the neighborhood, but it’s also a nice throwback to an earlier era. The owner is very nice. Last time I was here, his toddler son was sitting on the counter and greeting everyone who entered. Definitely cute, but I don’t know whether a liquor-store counter is the safest place for a toddler, especially at night. But this is Marin County, so what’s really going to happen? It loses a star because the bottle of Diet Pepsi I bought here the other night had expired on August 30.
