My family and I took a trip to San Rafael earlier this week and decided to stop at the mall for some shopping on Tuesday afternoon. Upon entering Michael Stars we were not greeted by the older woman running the shop. She was terrible at assisting my mother with her requests and looked inconvenienced with a bad attitude. When you work retail, customer service should be your number one priority. Especially when you’re selling shirts with little to no fabric with a high price tag. Learn manners, and stop acting like you’re better than others while you sit at a counter folding tshirts.

A wise friend once taught me that good pants and comfortable shoes are worth the expense. Well, if you’re a dude in the market for nice looking slacks that fit like a glove, then I recommend shopping at Michael Stars. Located in the Corte Madera Village(next to Starbucks), I’ve probably walked past this store a hundred times without noticing it. Until recently, they only sold women’s clothing(and since I’m not in to cross-dressing, I never paid them notice). But now, lo and behold, they’re selling men’s attire(button-shirts, slacks, shorts, etc.). I found a pair of beige chino slacks that appealed to me. I picked out my size and tried them on in the back dressing room(praying to God that I could still fit in a size 34 without having to suck in my belly too much). Fortunately, the pants fit me perfectly! The total price of the pants was $ 168 + tax. That’s a little bit more than I’m used to paying for slacks. But then I remembered the words of my wise friend. After all, I’ll be wearing these pants at least a few times per week. So I guess $ 168 is a fair price to pay for comfort and pants that make me look ten pounds skinnier. I’ll definitely be back to check out their Fall inventory.

I love this place. I saw someone wearing a long sleeve t-shirt that looked attractive, comfortable and well fitting, and she told me she got it at Michael Stars and loves their shirts, now has them in all sorts of colors. So I stopped by, and now I am a regular, and also have their shirts in many colors. Really good quality, and just stay soft and perfect fitting even after many washings. And the sales people there are super friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Esp. a young woman named Tai(spelling?) She’s always great. As well as the manager. But last time I was there a man was working there, and he was really helpful and friendly, too. Really like this place, and the quality of clothing, esp. the shirts and cardigans, are great.
