Best pizza I’ve had in a long time! Definitely beats those chain pizza places.

What a fantastic place to eat. Although the name says pizza, everything I’ve tried here has been outstanding, especially, the tacos. Their fish tacos are amazing, with large pieces of super fresh fish. The pork tacos are equally great. The pizzas are slightly smaller than the typical pizza joint but the quality is outstanding. Cooked in a real wood fired oven, the crusts come out perfect. They have a decent selection of craft beers as well as several of the usual choices. The salads are a nice size and the quality is A-1. They use locally sourced ingredients for much of their offerings. You owe it to yourself to give VIP a try. The location is a little small but they are friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching them prepare the food.

We have eaten here several times when vacationing on LBK. The atmosphere is casual and the owners are very friendly. The pizza is outstanding and and so are the fish tacos. One of our favorite restaurants in the area.

Came here for a causal dinner at the end of vacation and was not disappointed. Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Was curious about the combination of Cuban, Vietnamese, & pizza, but they obviously picked three cuisines they knew and loved best! From our table, we recommend: fish tacos, duck pizza, & duck bahn mi. Go Buckeyes!

I have not been here in years. I had the Pork Baja Tacos with a side of Pork & Beans. WOW! The pork in the tacos was super tender with just the right amount of seasoning and the beans were just as great. Keep up the great job.

Very good pizza we had the Cuban and it was fantastic! We ate at a lot of pizza joints but this one by far is the best pizza I ever ate in Florida! Very good will definitely will stop in more often.

Best pizza I’ve ever had. Wood fired brick oven at 800 degrees. BBQ Pork Shoulder with Cilantro Slaw and Colby Jack Cheese Pizza, insanely good! Owners are transplants from Maine. They also do Baja style Tacos and Bahn Mi sandwiches.

Ohhhhh how we love this place! We lived on the island for 2 years before we even tried it. What madness! The pizza is awesome. It’s now a weekly tradition. It’s smokey from the oven, the ingredients are incredibly fresh. My 7 year old, who is not a big kid, can eat HALF of a Fungi white pizza. It’s just that good!!! I had an exchange student from Italy live with me and this pizza is the only thing that’s come close to hers. We haven’t had anything else but pizza, but we’ve had every single one. Their deli meats are fantastic and any white pizza with pesto is awesome. Will update when we have tried the other stuff!!!

Pretty solid choice for takeout when on Anna Marie Island. The cooking by fire gives the pizza a nice crisp and unique flavor. The red sauce is tangy, and veggie toppings tasted fresh. I also highly, highly recommend the fire charred Caesar wedge salad. If you haven’t had properly cooked romaine lettuce this is a must try. If you have enjoyed cooked salad then you already know. One downside… their hours suck. A pizza joint, located in a tourist area, that closes at 9? I indeed have now seen everything.

This place is delicious! We got one white pizza(feta, spinach, garlic and olive oil) and one butcher pizza(home made sausage, ham, pepperoni, cheese and red sauce). They make the pizza at the counter right in front of you. The place is tiny with only a handful of tables so peak season I would imagine gets super busy. The staff is extremely laid back, but you can tell they take pride in what they do. The menu states«we aren’t Italian and we don’t pretend to be». This establishment is straight up the real deal. Give it a try.

Chef and kitchen people are awesome. Service is friendly enough. Nothing amazing but enough to help your evening out. Grab you a drink, refill water. Etc Couple items to note: 1) they don’t have ice 2) they have tap water or bottled. But no cold filtered or cold tap… 3) food comes out quick and everything is tasty. 4.) not much room so be forewarned on a busy night. Or just come early. Good pizza. Not orgasmic but good quality and tasty. Would come back… Mildly pricy but you are paying for good pizza. Arugula salad was nice. I would Ask for extra dressing and crack some salt and pepper on it… Haven’t tried other items. So go and enjoy

Great pizza! Crust is thin and price isn’t too bad. Is it the best I ever had? No. Did it give me an orgasm? No. Would I go back? Probs. The space is not huge, and there is no Bud Light! I had to drink a Silver Bullet #yuck

For pizza, this place is the bomb when near Anna Maria Island. The sauce and crust were positively pallet pleasing. We started off with their arugula and mozzarella salad and then ordered two pizzas. One was the Flatlander(yum-o!); I can’t remember what the other was as it wasn’t the one I ordered but know that those who ate it loved it. Our party of 4 was duly impressed with the taste of everything. Service was timely and excellent… just the right amount of checking in to be sure all was well; and it was! This place is in a small strip type shopping center and some might consider it a hole in the wall type of place but I am here to tell you that the Village Idiot had some of the best pizza this Chicago gal has ever tasted so be sure to taste for yourself when you’re in the area and want a nice casual dinner where you can kick back and relax. Friendly atmosphere and friendly and timely service. Bet your money that when I’m back in the area, this will be my go to pizza place.

This place is amazing. Quite possibly the best pizza I’ve ever tasted. Cooked in a wood fire oven, this results in an excellent crust with amazing toppings and flavors. We ordered a standard pepperoni, and the Beef Brisket daily special. The pepperoni pizza was excellent. My kids, who don’t normally get into pizza, ate until they couldn’t eat another bite. The Beef Brisket pizza was off the charts. I mean amazing. The brisket was slow smoked, with unbelievable flavor, along with their awesome crust. Service was very good. Everyone in the restaurant was so appreciative to have our business. Be prepared — seating is rather limited. However, they do offer carry out. Bottom line — Village Idiot Pizzeria is phenomenal. I highly, HIGHLY recommend you give them a try next time you’re in the area.

During our vacation, we were looking for pizza. We generally seek out interesting local places and VIP fits the bill. Despite its location in a nondescript commercial strip just east of the Cortez bridge this place is the real deal. We ordered five pizzas– 5 cheese, ropa vieja, Cuban, nana’s favorite, joeys favorite. Freaking awesome! Ropa vieja was original & interesting with a chimichurry base. Cuban had a nice mix of tang from the pickle and savory. Nana’s fav with a pesto base & assortment of veggies was solid. joeys hit the spot with the assortment of meats. Each pie was perfectly cooked, with a crust that was the perfect balance of crunchy & chewy. We didn’t try the banh mi or tacos, but the looked(and smelled) fantastic. We certainly didn’t expect such creativity or inspired cooking in a tourist town. What a great surprise! We’ll be back.

Everything that a gourmet pizza should be, made by a skilled craftsman. If this restaurant became large, it would really take away from the rustic, fresh, and handmade appeal. You are looking at about a 10″ pie, made from scratch, with toppings made from scratch— you get my drift. When we were last here, there was one waitress, and only one waitress needed to work the whole room. Sit at the bar if you want to talk to the chef and owner, and watch the pizza being made before your eyes. I have no qualms about eating an entire pie here myself. Maybe that is why I do not visit often.
