Had their jalapeño burger and it was excellent. My daughter asked for her burger to be served on top of salad and they accommodated her(for an extra charge). Waitress was very nice. Had a nice time eating here.

Great diner, food and excellent, friendly staff. We had breakfast for dinner and it was a perfect stop on our road trip to Philly. Eggs, pancakes, bacon, corn beef hash – all cooked perfectly. They even offer raisen toast, as any good diner does!

Upon walking in, this place seemed outdated and kind of sketchy. However, we were pleasantly surprised by amazing food, excellent service, and a very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

A «slice of Americana». Old school diner. My daughter had the burger and I had the meatloaf. Both were so good that we came back the next day FORTHESAMEEXACTTHING!

Had an excellent experience in this old fashioned diner. Delicious food, friendly service. Came with either homemade fries or potato chips. Would definitely come back

Roadtripping and craving a BLT. Nothing fancy, just wanting a classic at a time when the tomatoes were ripe. Found something close to perfection here. Side bonus? The French fries were outstanding. Would go out of my way to come back!

Great small quaint nostalgic little diner in downtown Cortland. A perfect breakfast spot… in a town where good food is not that abundant. I ordered steak and eggs. It was good. Mom had eggs and bacon. All the food was fresh and the service was good. My only complaint was the lack of fruit. They had no fruit or veggies available… which made for a heavy meal. Overall we will come back when we return… great experience. Oh and I should mention breakfast for two was 17 bucks. Great deal.

It is a very rare occurrence when I eat in a diner three days in a row. But, circumstances arranged for this to happen in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York earlier this week. My final experience was the best one. Frank & Mary’s Diner in Cortland, New York(between Binghamton and Syracuse), was quite a trip down memory lane. It was the oldest of the three; the smallest, the diveyest, and the absolute tastiest and funniest. Apparently, local legend has it that this building has been transported to several locations over its 80+ year history. I can imagine it being pulled off its moorings on the back of a flatbed, while still slinging pancakes and burgers to customers who paid extra for the ride. Wish I had a ticket for that! The joint is long and narrow, and has plainly seen better days. Yet, in this Upstate college town, it fits in perfectly. The menu is smaller befitting the size of the grill and limited refrigeration, but that does not detract from the daily entertainment provided by the staff, who stroll along the counter telling jokes and slightly ribald tales. The short order chef wears a Yankee cap and handles the knife and spatulas like a surgeon on speed. My Meatloaf Plate was tasty and the right texture. Real Mashed Potatoes. Fresh Sweet Corn. Not exactly a balanced meal, but surely an All American one right out of Norman Rockwell.

We were visiting Cornell, but our hotel was in Cortland. We checked out Unilocal to see what food was around & we found this diner! It wasn’t the cleanest of all places, but the staff was friendly & the food was tasty! I got a cheddar egg white omelette & choco chip pancakes. The omelette came with complementary potatoes & toast! My boyfriend also got an omelette. Prices were great, but they only take cash. We probably won’t ever go back, but it was a cool diner

Homemade hash, fries, chips, etc. Nearly everything is homemade. Daily specials everyday! Frank and Marys is always buzzing with people from suit and tie to the average guy. Stop in, you will be glad you did!

No need for any fluffed up, first hand experience story for this little hole in the wall. Let’s just say I get an erection every time I think of Frank and Mary’s. Food is amazing, staff is great, and best of all they have BYRNEDAIRYCHOCOLATEMILK. If that doesn’t get you off I don’t know what will.

We stopped by Frank and Mary’s Diner this morning because we had a gift certificate and were hungry for some diner food. I haven’t been in years, and I’m glad I went back. I ordered the western burger with fries, he ordered the BLT with home fries, and we both had coffee and split a bear claw. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. There was no skimping on the bacon, which happens to be the case at many diners. I was impressed by the friendliness of our waitress and another gentleman who helped with our gift certificate. I didn’t catch their names, but their helpfulness was very appreciated. If you’re looking for a hometown American diner, this will do the trick. Simple menu, simple food, no fuss!

On our way back from Niagara Falls, my partner and I were looking for a 24⁄7 diner. We are both fast paced New Yorkers, used to eating at any hour of the night. Frank and Mary’s was one of the few restaurants open in the area. We love small, homey diners and upon walking in it felt just like that. It was very welcoming and had inspirational sayings written in chalk on the wall. I just remember thinking that was charming. We needed an outlet so that we could find the rest of the way home(our phones were dying) and found a spot in the back. I plugged my phone in near the service station, which the waiter was totally cool about. I was very wary of ordering any meat at this diner for fear of what I would receive(I typically don’t like to eat meat too often), but ordered the cheeseburger because it said hand pressed patties. Oh…my… god… It was amazing! I ordered mine medium rare(came out perfect) and the fries were fresh. This little diner took the time to hand press their patties and make homemade french fries! My partner said that if they took care to prepare this meal homemade then the rest of their menu was probably just the same. I almost wished I lived in Cortland to go back to this diner. The other super cool thing about this place was the hand towel dispenser. As a «green» freak myself I hate using paper towels because I don’t like wasting paper. The towel dispenser was a dispenser except it kept rotating a towel-like piece of cloth around and around so as not to waste paper, genius! Finally, just as we were leaving the waiter called out and said, do you have your phone? I left my phone near the service station in the back! He was nowhere near that area but remembered and reminded me anyway. I would definitely recommend that place to anyone who would like a truly rustic and possibly nostalgic diner experience.

On a weekend getaway, my friend and I stopped here for a late night dinner after driving all night. We were staying in a motel up the street. The food arrived quick. It was typical diner food. Breakfast is served 24⁄7. I got a salad, she got eggs, sausage, and potatoes. Everything was good. We both got water to drink and got out of there for under $ 12. Yes, that’s less than $ 6 each.

You’ve got to look at this joint for what it is. Home cooked breakfast 24/7, at least on weekends. Blueberry pancakes were delish and the bacon crosp. Yeah the oj could have been fresh squeezed but hey, this ain’t the Ritz. Price to value A+. Someone nearby suggested the coffee could be stronger. Go. Enjoy. Stop complaining.
