My friend and I ordered the sweet chili pizza and mild boneless wings. The wings were fairly good but the pizza was absolutely horrible. The crust was plain and the sauces tasted super sweet but lacked any other flavor. I’d never order from here again. I’ve never written a bad review because I understand how damaging it can be but I really think something needs to change here. Only giving the 2 stars because of the wings that frankly were more than likely ordered frozen and thrown in an oven.

In Cortland for business and decided to order in for lunch. Grilled chicken salad is an easy meal and they delivered it promptly. For a $ 11.41 plus tip salad, I expected to see a decent serving. However, the nice looking take out container(6“x6″) did not include a healthy portion of food; especially when about 10 – 15 percent of the lettuce was bad(black, withered, rotting). Also, no utensils or napkins came in the package. The staff I dealt with on the phone and delivery were each pleasant enough, but I’m disappointed and surprised this salad even made it out the door. Poor first(and only) impression.

Very poor service. Single slices aren’t particularly appetizing, though the sheet pizzas are exceptional. Staff seems to often be unaware of simple customs such as putting single slices in the oven before serving, using GLOVES or at least a spatula to put a slice on a plate, etc. Keep it moving, there are many better pizza places in the area.

This place was great. Guys working there were very friendly and the pizza was awesome. I haven’t lived in NY for over 20 years, but from the first bite, it was like coming home to great Upstate NY food. Only complaint… not the best place to eat in at, and no AC was a little rough, but the pizza was AWESOME. Best part, right before we left, one of the guys gave us an order of Fried Dough on the house. Needless to say, my 9&4 year old stuffed there faces on the ride home to Philly…

I miss Mark’s like crazy now that I’m living on the other side of the country. While going to school in Ithaca, I decided that my girlfriend and I should go on an adventure to Cortland(about a half an hour away), and find somewhere to eat. I’d driven through the town a few times, so I had a rough idea of where we might be able to find some places to eat. As it happened, I was right(no surprise there). The street I was thinking of(Main Street) did indeed have a number of places to eat. The Mark’s Pizzeria sign seemed classy enough to suggest that they cared about how they were representing themselves, but wasn’t so flashy that it said, «We’re just bells and whistles, and we’ll be ringing buzzers and honking horns all evening to distract you from filth you’re shoveling into your mouths!»(Note: I’ve been known to read a lot into signs at restaurants.) THENIBBLE We were able to smell the pizzas before we even opened the door. Predictably the smell was even more powerful once we walked inside. They had many awesome types of pizzas(more than even appear on their menu). You can buy by the slice, or as a whole. The pizza that sounded most intriguing to us was the Chicken Bacon Ranch, so that’s what we ordered. We decided to get a whole pizza to go because all of the seats were taken when we ordered. Otherwise, we probably would have stayed. They were pretty busy, and the line was moving fast, so the atmosphere inside was a little intimidating since I’m someone who feels uncomfortable if I don’t know exactly how to do things. That’s often the case with certain local restaurants which have unfamiliar lingo. Luckily the cashier was really nice, and I didn’t need to know any special lingo(or anything like that) to order the pizza. We waited inside while the pizza was made, and headed back to Ithaca once it was done. It smelled amazing in the car. My girlfriend and I had already commented on what a good idea it was to go there at that time. We had to catch ourselves given that we hadn’t actually tasted it yet. Once we reached my apartment we opened it up, dished it out, and I reheated mine. I know, I know: I’m supposed to reheat it either in a pan or in the oven, but I was much too eager to try this, so I just popped it in the microwave for a few seconds. Remember I had to drive with it cooling in the car for 30 minutes. On the first bite I realized that this pizza wasn’t constructed simply for consumption, but rather this was made to be appreciated – closer to art. It demanded to be admired. It was complex and simple at the same time. What I mean is that there weren’t a ton of ingredients, and each one pretty much tasted like you’d expect. They way they were combined, however, made both me and my girlfriend ooh and ahh. With each chew a new flavor rose to the forefront that was better than the last. THETASTE The rest of the pizza was just as delicious as the first bite. In fact, it got better. Typically I enjoy a generous amount of sauce, and my girlfriend enjoys a light amount of sauce. Amazingly we both thought this had the right amount. What really made the pizza work well was that nothing was overpowering or forgotten. You could taste every ingredient, but they all worked together in harmony. It’s a peaceful pizza. We ate most of the pizza that night, and reheated the rest of it the next morning. Unfortunately, it lacked the same magic that it had when it was fresh, but that’s not surprising. It was still very tasty. THEVERDICT Without trying to make too much of it, the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza from Mark’s Pizzeria is the best Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza that I’ve ever had the joy of tasting. I give the CBR pizza my highest recommendation. I ate the pizza as often as I could while I was living there, and it’s one of the things I miss most. If you’re in the area, give it a try. You won’t be sorry. In addition to making great pizza, Mark’s Pizzeria also offers plenty of coupons online. All you have to do is print them out!
