We ordered take out and found it to be tasty. However, due to staff packing pur french onion soup spilled before we got it home. However, what we did manage to salvage was pretty good, not too salty or overcrowded with onions as i find most. We also enjoyed the fried green tomotoes which offered a nice coating of bread crumbs and bacon with a chipolte like sauce. We also ordered a classic brick oven pizza which was thicker(crust wise) than most but very good. I could tell the tomato sauce was fresh and sweet. The cheese appeared to be thinly pre-sliced mozzarella. My boyfriend also ordered a side salad that he enjoyed. So why a 3 and not a 4 or 5… Well with a name like Brix offering brick oven pizza i expect authenticity(thin crust, real darn near impossible fresh mozzarella cheese that is hard to melt). Also, if you offer takeout you have to know how to pack it apprporiately! My boyfriend called to make them aware of the soup and i feel they should have either comped it or at least given him a free one at a later date. Overall, good pizza, not stellar. Ok service. I would try this place again, perhaps the pizza is better fresh out the oven and all the soup would make it to my table.

Good service! The veggie fries costed $ 10, and we took most of it home. The wings were delicious! The environment was beautiful and spacious!

The food is pretty good especially the veggie fries with their various dipping sauces. Also really liked their buffalo calzone. The only thing is is that it’s a bit pricey but the atmosphere is excellent. Would definitely recomend.

Beautiful place inside! Was not expecting how large it is, the beautiful open bar and the exposed brick. We Ordered the arugula salad, caprese pizza and veg pizza. The arugula salad was very good and had lots of toppings: asparagus, strawberries, avocado and nuts. It was the perfect size to split with 4 people to each have a small app size plate before our pizza. We loveddd the caprese pizza. It was perfect and the balsamic glaze on top gave it the perfect zing! I can see why it is marked as the favorite. I would def order this again. The veg pizza was ok, but there wasn’t much flavor. More garlic and or a stronger cheese like feta or goat cheese would have made all the difference. Not my fave. The crust was good, but got very hard towards the top. The pizzas were much larger than expected! Also the service was spectacular! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. She didn’t miss a beat. Would def come back here to try some of the other pizzas.

Recommended by Pig Vycious BBQ, I went there to eat some food on the way back from Niagara Falls. My family and I ordered a DIY Pizza, Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls, Mild Wings, Crown City Chicken Riggz, Chicken Parm, and an Anchor Wrap. All in all my family enjoyed this meal other than the Pizza in which case all of us felt there wasn’t enough flavor for all that was put in it.(I remember toppings like peppers, onions, sauce, can’t remember the rest, but it was loaded). The Chicken Parm was ok. The Riggz was spicy. The wings were ok. In my opinion a whole step up from decent chain restaurant but not somewhere I would ever go to again.

The restaurant is very nice and spacious with a good bar in the middle. Our waitress wasn’t the most knowledgable but the meatball sandwich was good. The pizza was a little underwhelming.

Sucks! I get here five min before nine and at 9:04 they tell me free I order they feel like closing the kitchen. Inconsistent. Sucks ! Disappointing. So they lost business and I walked to central city bar and gave them over $ 100 business. Losers

The mixed veggies fries are a must try! The wasabi dipping sauce was heavenly. The fries were perfectly seasoned and very crispy. I didn’t really care for the pizza though. Its good, but not special in any way. Well priced drinks, and they also have great happy hour specials. Perfect way to start a night out in Cortland.

great hangout. Plenty of bar space, lots of peeps on a Saturday night, good mix — college students and families with kids, a good bet for food. Had a pizza, their personal pizza is larger than your typical personal pizza. Tasted really good, crust and all. Savory like it should be. Solid beer selection too.

We were staying at Hope Lake Lodge and ventured into town to eat. I saw the reviews and decided to try it. So glad we did! It was awesome. The Caprese pizza was delicious. Our apps were great the veggie sticks and the bruschetta — yummy. Great selection of beer on tap. The cortland brewery Naked Lap Lager was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive. Go there when in Cortland NY!

I really enjoyed the time I spent here. This place was suggested by a friend we were visiting in Cortland. Being from Buffalo I am spoiled with many bars and restaurants. This place was no different. It was warm and inviting. The décor was nice and the alcohol selection was great. Brix must have had at least 30 different flavors of vodka to choose from! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and we found that they had decent drink specials. The bar was packed with Jets fans who had just come from the open practice. It was loud but you could still hold a conversation. I did not order any food so my ratings will strictly be based on location, drinks, and overall atmosphere. Ratings 1 – 10(1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest) Location: 7 Parking: 5 Décor: 8 Drinks: 8 Bathroom cleanliness: 8 Overall cleanliness: 8 I would suggest this bar to locals who are looking for a fun evening with friends. I certainly had a good time and I would like to try the food if I ever go back to Cortland.

I travel for work so I count on Unilocal reviews to guide me to the local«diamond in the ruff». Brix had 3.5 stars which isn’t the best but I decided to check out the pics. I didn’t even look at the menu… I saw the pics posted of the caprese pizza and clicked«CALL» I’m glad I did! Yummy

Just ordered pizza from this supposedly«great» pizza place. It was hands-down the WORST pizza I have EVER had. It had no taste whatsoever. The sauce had absolutely no flavor, not even a pinch of salt and pepper. The crust was ok, which is what I would expect from a brick oven. I had high hopes for this place and was sorely disappointed. Save your money and do not order pizza from this place! Awful.

We traveled up to Greek Peak and the Lodge for a weekend getaway and decided to forgo the terrible restaurant located on site and try this place out in nearby Cortland based on the reviews posted here. Overall is was just OK. French onion soup was decent but nothing special. The pizza was disappointing(pizza snob here). I think the only thing that saved it was a dousing of olive oil on top and on the crust. The chicken fingers portion for the kids was a good size, enough for the two munchkins, but pretty standard(frozen type). The bar and atmosphere was really good though. Felt like the college town it is, on the inside. Go outside and it’s like a ghost town. When we go back to visit probably won’t eat here again, sorry to say. Perhaps a larger sampling of the menu would be prudent to get a better taste of the food.

So we drove up to Cortland last night for some Brix and again this place does not disappoint. We got seated immediately and the waitress brought us our drinks very quickly. We ordered the Whiskey Maple Wings, Buffalo Egg Rolls and Veggie Fries to start with. The Wings were amazing as always. They needed a little more sauce, I think next time I will order a side of the sauce but even so, the sauce was AMAZING. These wings are awesome, Crunchy on outside, juicy on inside, and all around just the best wings ever. The Buffalo Chicken Egg rolls are awesome as well. Their home made Gorgonzola blue cheese sauce is freaking epic and paired with the egg rolls this is just awesome. The veggie fries were actually the highlight. We got zucchini fries, sweet potato fries and regular fries. The zucchini fries where so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and were awesome. The regular fries are always great but what really stood out here was the sweet potato fries. These were the best fries I have ever had in my life. The taste was awesome. What really made the sweet potato fries was the dipping sauce It was a marshmallow maple sauce that I could eat for days. This was the best combo ever. We got the caprese pizza like we normally do and we were not disappointed. This pizza rules every time. The service was great too. The only thing I don’t like is the noise. It is overly loud but that will never stop me from going here ever. I love this place and will continuously drive a half an hour just to eat here. I wish they’d open one in Ithaca, they’d get so much business!!! Overall you need to get out here and try this place. There is nothing that is bad on their menu!

Was out here for snowboarding, the town has that«Night of the living dead» vibe, lol…(No dis)… So we found this place AFTER a few disasters eating elsewhere, so I was pretty Apprehensive about eating anywhere else but the hotel. Found this spot and read the reviews on Unilocal, they did not disappoint. The Atmosphere has young hip atmosphere. Afew old heads but mostly college kids, nice music, cold beer, good Pie. The staff was great and on point. Great mix of music, rap, rock, pop. Definitely«the spot» in this town. Oh, my only complaint, ESPN or some-kind SPORTS on the TVs ONLY!!!
