I will start this by saying the owner(female) has heart and suoul. The passion and enery she radiates shines bright! But we can’t eat her beaming personality so let’s get this on! The meat(ribs, brisket and pulled pork) were super tender and fall off the bone, but lacked flavor beyond the bbq sauce poured over them. I like my meat pre rubbed before the cooking process. The mac and cheese was flavorless as the noodles were so overcooked that they were limp. The cheese taste like cheese wiz, no salt, no pepper, no real cheese flavor just overcooked noodles and bland cheese wiz. I think they need to find an alternate mac and cheese receipe with real local cheeses and this issue would be solved. The collards were very vinagery but not terrible, just not good. I asked how they find receipes, who taught her to cook and she responded that she does it out of love. I mwan mean you can’t make this positive«can do» attitude and self confidence up! But unfortunately, the food was not as awesome as she was. I would suggest finding a good mac and cheese and collards recipe would solve this problem as well as varying the meat rubs. It was the personality of the business and tender meat that gave this place a 3, but the fact that everything was flavorless could not give it anything more.

Maybe it wasn’t a good day for them but I went because they had marvelous reviews. I ordered the brisket with baked beans and macaroni. The brisket was a little tough. The macaroni lacked cheese or flavor. The baked beans had a weird taste to them. As I stated before maybe it wasn’t a good day for them but I definitely won’t be trying it again. They had great customer service skills though.

I think this place took best BBQ in CNY! Extremely flavorful meats and perfectly done! Excellent service! This place should be at the top of your list!

Visited the truck a few times now and never disappointed. Went back for the special today, shrimp and grits. Very good! Just enough spice and the smoked sausage and peppers are a nice addition to the flavor. The brisket, ribs are good too. Also so glad the talked me in to the suben last visit, it was delicious. The hellish relish is so good on it!

To give this a fair review, I must mention that on my drive back from Niagara Falls I stopped and ordered the beef brisket and pulled pork dish accompanied by mac & cheese and jalapeño corn for take out and ate it for dinner the night after. Regardless of that fact, the meal was very nice. What surprised me the most was the Mac and cheese that I’m normally not a fanatic about but do try every time I get an opportunity to. For me, it was just the right amount of cheesiness. Along with the noodles being cooked to perfection, even after the microwave, was very impressive. The meat that caught my attention the most was the beef brisket which was flavorful and still tasted amazing even after the fact. Given this circumstance, I would have to recommend this to all that maybe in their area to enjoy a, I assume, even better tasting meal than what I had experienced.

Stopped by for dinner, amazing brisket plate! The brisket is sliced rather than chopped, which is a must as far as I’m concerned. It was tender, juicy and was great on its own, but I really enjoyed the BBQ sauce served on the side with it. I also had the collard greens and slaw for sides. Big chunks of brisket in the collards, well seasoned, delicious. Cole slaw was equally enjoyable, sweet and tart dressing.

Noticed a few BBQ joints popping up around Cortland and thought I’d give this one a try. The appeal of no line, no waiting, and parking a few feet away had me stopping in. Hadn’t been before so the menu was a mystery. With a little help, I had the«Suben» sandwich($ 9) created before my eyes and boxed up to go. The owners made sure I had a fork and plenty of napkins as I pretty much had to eat my way around the sandwich before I could ever hope to pick it up. This is not something you’ll be eating at a stop light. My lunchtime didn’t leave me enough time to finish and I had to leave the half-eaten Suben sitting on my car floor. Three hours later, it was still great. Well worth it.

After driving past Pig Vycious numerous times, I finally decided to stop one night with my mom a few weeks ago. WOW! I don’t know why we never stopped sooner! First of all, «Mr. and Mrs. Pig Vycious» are a hoot! We had the greatest time just standing there and talking to them, they’re wonderful people! I got the Sweet Caroline with a side of Mac and cheese. The pulled pork was AMAZING! You could taste the smoke and it didn’t even need sauce! But the sauce was of course a nice touch. The best I’ve ever had, and the cole slaw on top was like nothing I’ve ever had. They put they’re own twist on the slaw, and let me tell you, they know what they’re doing. It has a bit of a citrus-y taste to it and makes the whole sandwich. The Mac and cheese was to die for as well of course. Please go support this amazing couple, you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic. Have gotten take out here 5 or 6 times already since they opened the food truck. My favorite items are for sure the Chicago and Street Dogs, the Scarface Sandwich and basically anything with the brisket or the rib meat. My wife gets the brisket always and is always happy., and she is picky. I am looking forward to the chickens and the wings.

for a roadside BBQ stand/truck, this place is ok. not the best BBQ you’ll ever eat but the best in the Cortland area anyways(although i have yet to try Denny Jack’s). the people there are very friendly but be warned, this is takeout only and the lot they are set up in doesn’t have too much room for parking. i’ve went here a couple times last fall and a couple times recently. there were a few minor changes that i’ll get to later but overall the food quality was pretty much the same every time, with pretty generous portions. i’ll start with the meats. i’ve had the pulled pork and brisket combo here twice. the first time the brisket was tender and moist but it was cut in small uneven slices. i did feel that it could have used some more smoke flavor though, same with the pork. the 2nd time i got the brisket i was served huge evenly cut slices that were moist and tender as well. again, it could have used more smoke flavor. i dunno what the issue is, they have a nice wood burning smoker(you can tell when something’s cooked in a nice outdoor smoker or if it’s cooked in an electric gas assist one), and i could tell that there was a smoke ring on it, but still, there was something missing flavor wise, and i felt the same for the pulled pork both times as well. the first time i thought the pork was a little dry, but the 2nd time it was fine. they pull off nice big chunks of meat from the shoulder fresh when you order it, which is a nice touch. any flavor of the meat though kinda disappears once the sauce hits it. as for their sauce, it’s tomato based and very sweet, but it doesn’t seem like they use a ton of molasses as the sweetener like most places do, which i like to see because i feel like molasses sauces are overdone and i like to see something more unique. i’ve also tried the ribs and the chicken here too. the ribs i had were very tender and did have more of a smoke flavor than the brisket and pulled pork, i would definitely order those again. the chicken however i will probably pass on in the future. they brine theirs with a lot of herbs and personally i feel like the smoke and herbs don’t mix well. they took the chicken fresh off the smoker when i had it too and it was already a little dried out. as for the sides, i’ve had the beans, coleslaw, and mac n cheese twice. i had salt potatoes once and the smashed potatoes once, and the cornbread i also only got once. the beans were the same both times. they have lots of meat in them but flavor wise they didn’t do much for me. the coleslaw here is good, the first time i got it they used green cabbage and the 2nd time it was purple cabbage. i didn’t feel that it made a difference though. the mac n cheese had spiral noodles the first time and elbows the 2nd, and both times it was pretty mild in the flavor department. it wasn’t bad but just nothing out of the ordinary. the salt potatoes were good, although they gave them to me by mistake because i ordered smashed potatoes. the 2nd time i got the mac n cheese i also got it by mistake because i ordered mac salad. the smashed potatoes here are pretty good, maybe even my favorite side. as for the cornbread, i think it was a few days old when i got it. it was wrapped in plastic and had a weird texture. it was definitely on the sweet side but slimy and stale. there is more stuff here that i would like to try, and i have a feeling that i definitely will be back. these guys are very nice people who are trying their best and they deserve people to try them out.

We found this awesome little place through other Unilocal reviews while driving home from a trip upstate. Man, are we glad we did! First(and what you’re probably wondering most about) the food was DELICIOUS — juicy, flavorful pulled pork, killer sides(don’t miss the BBQ beans), and though we didn’t order the ribs we saw someone who did and they looked really great. Nice big portions with plenty for leftovers. My husband is from Texas and I lived there for an few years, so we’ve got high BBQ standards. Second, the people were SOINCREDIBLYNICE. It’s run by a guy who worked in the restaurant industry for 30 years then in disaster/hurricane recovery all over the country before starting this business just a few months ago. He seems like he’s got real vision and ingenuity(we loved learning about the re-purposed materials he used to fabricate the smokers!) and I sure hope Pig Vycious takes him where he wants to go. As if that weren’t enough to recommend this place, sometime between the highway exit and the ATM(they’re a cash only establishment), we ran over a nail and had to put our tiny spare tire on the car. When we got the BBQ joint, the man behind the counter(Jim) noticed our doughnut tire, got out his tools and PATCHED our real tire so we wouldn’t have to drive the next 200 miles on the spare. No joke. Come for the food, stay for these kind, upstanding folks. This is the perfect place to stop on your way upstate or to ease the re-entry to the city after a getaway. One last thing — The next step of the business is to buy a trailer so they can be more of a food truck kitchen. They said they’ll be starting an indiegogo or kickstarter soon — here’s hoping lots of satisfied customers can help them reach their goal!

My husband and I were driving back to Buffalo on a long car trip and ended up stopping off in Homer, NY looking for a place for lunch. We found Pig Vycious, a new BBQ place. What a treat! We had pulled pork and chicken dinners which were plentiful and deliciously home-cooked. The owner even let us sample the ribs — all delicious and we thought better than Dinosaur BBQ! It is mostly a take out place but the friendly owners have plans to expand for seating. Worth the stop!

This place JUST opened last week and I had seen their sign and the smoke from the BBQ pit while driving by a couple of times during the past week. So, I decided to stop and see what they had to offer and boy was it a good idea. They had BBQ Ribs, Chicken, Pulled Pork and several sides to choose from including Salt Potatoes, Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Macaroni Salad and maybe some others. They were only set up for takeout with a couple of outdoor picnic tables for seating while they build out the interior of their building. The folks there were super friendly and my Pulled Pork, Beans and Slaw were super tasty!
