I’ve had better french manicures, I’ve had worse. The nail polish is missing from the sides of my nails, the tech nicked the paint and didn’t fix it as she was turning my hands, nail polish used for the white on the tip was some cheap nonbrand(they used Essie for the pink), the french tips are uneven and far too thin, manicurist didn’t bring the polish over the tip of my nails so this will be at best a 3 day manicure before it starts to chip, cuticles trimmed sloppily. Two stars for not making me bleed and because the salon is actually very clean. I called to ask about the price before I stopped in the guy just answered with«Hello» so I had to ask if it was the nail salon, he was curt and rude after that. Given the reviews I’m not even sure why I went here beyond the fact that it was in walking distance. I paid $ 15 for an $ 8 quality manicure, never again.

I was new to the area and gave this place 3 tries but NOW I’m done with them… 1st time I went, I got the $ 13 pedicure, fully expecting a quick/not so great job. I was also prepared to expect the barrage of questions about extra services to upcharge me, based on the reviews of others. The 2nd time, again, they would ask me repeatedly, about adding things or cutting off an imaginary callus. To be asked over 5 times by 2 different people if I wanted to do a manicure as well was becoming borderline harassing and awkward. My 3rd and final visit was a mess! I had gotten UV gels at another salon that I wanted this place to take off while I got a pedicure. WELL, my pedicurist gets a squirt bottle of nail polish remover and pours it into the container for me to soak on my lap, with no towel. As I’m trying to enjoy my pedicure without SPILLING the solution on my lap, I look over and to my horror, realize he had sprayed my brand new leather purse with nail polish remover and it has these white spots/burns all over the front!(A few weeks later, I STILL can’t get them out). The icing on the cake(aside from being asked an embarassing number of times to get a manicure as he took off my gels, no thanks already!) was when I witnessed another guy sucking up MYUSED tub of nail polish remover into the same squirt bottle! GROSS. News flash, Magic Nails, not only is this disgusting, it is a gross waste of supplies. I’ve been to other places where they soak a piece of cotton with remover and hold it on the nail, covered with foil. More sanitary and cost effective. They’re not friendly. They’re not clean. I regret going as often as I did. Quitting while I was ahead, would’ve meant saving my brand new purse :-(

Sorry but I will never return here again. Your paying for what you ask for, 13 dollars is cheap cause they have no idea on how to do the pedicure and then they hassle you to spend more money. Then my poor cousin asked them to use the blade an they did alright they took a chunk of her skin off. I’m getting sick if of no one knowing how to do their job.

Wow I guess customers often leave here feeling harassed. I havent [yet] but I’m sure I’ve over-paid for just about every service I’ve gotten here. Oh well, its Westchester and no one is ever honest, especially in the nail tech industry. All I do know is that they do an OK job here for what I usually get and often accomodate me pretty fast in here. One problem they do have is telling ppl its going to be ’10 mins’ when its really half an hour or more. They are cleaner and do better work on my gel and acrylic nails than Beach which I used to requent until my nails would chip off after a week. Until I find a better, cheaper, cleaner and closer place I guess I will have to stick to it here.

Suzanne, you are right on point with your review. I was there only 3 days earlier after having an issue with my regular nail salon. I was looking for a place that does UV gel and walked in here. They said they did the gel and so I decided to give them a try. Bad decision! I told them the number of the color gel I wanted and when it came time to put on the color, it was about 3 shades darker than what I chose. So I told them it wasn’t what I chose, showed them the sample again & they insisted it was the same color. She even put it on her nail and we matched them side to side… totally different… yet she still insisted they were the same! Not to mention the place was dirty, the employees very standoffish. So back to the drawing board to find another place. Any recommendations would be great!

Magic Nails Spa — I was expecting some kind of sorcery to get my manicure not to chip in 3 days. Wishful thinking, I suppose. Magic Nails Spa has a great selection of OPI and Essie colors — more so than any of the other salons in the area. Dark colors, pastels, you name it, they have it. On the weekends, it is $ 23 for a mani/pedi. The pedicure chairs were a bummer — they’re not the massage chair kind. My technician was awesome though… that leg massage definitely got the charley horse out of my calf. My manicure chipped a little faster than I would have liked(2 days) and my cuticles were peeling a bit. My technician was very meticulous and took her time, which I appreciated. It was a rough day, so I did the 10 minute chair massage for $ 10. This was probably the best cheap chair massage I’ve had. All of my aches and pains were gone afterwards. Magic Nails is open on Sundays, which is good if you’re looking for a salon in the area that’s open. 3.5 stars. I really wanted to give this place 4 stars but I need to stay consistent with the Nail Salon Ranking System.
