I am a big fan of China Delight. When it comes to Chinese food in Corvallis, I can honestly say this is the best I have had. I used to come here all the time growing up in Corvallis(it’s been around a while) and I came back recently when I was visiting family for Christmas. It hasn’t changed a bit. The owners are kind and attentive, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. There are a multitude of vegetarian options here, and so delicious that even my meat-eating family members were singing the praises of tempeh by the time we left. Dishes I can heartily recommend: The sesame tempeh, the salt-and-pepper tofu, the green beans in black bean sauce, and the egg flower soup. But really, everything is great. If you’re looking for delicious, affordable Chinese food, look no further.

A few friends and I stopped here on our way back from a camping trip on the coast. We were looking for a vegan friendly place in Corvallis to try. I texted a friend of mine who promptly responded, «China Delight! Their sesame tempeh is amazing!» It definitely has that loungey feel but the staff are nice and the place is clean, although dated. The service was prompt and even remembered to bring lemons for our water. Two of us got the sesame tempeh, another the tso«chicken», and another friend got a noodle dish(gluten free and vegan). I was excited to be able to get a side of pan fried noodles instead of rice, and my friends were excited to be able to get a side of fried rice instead of plain white rice. The portions are generous so leftovers are bound to happen, but that are tasty the next day –even without being reheated. The one thing I would change is either providing the fish at the entrance a much larger tank, and some stimulation like tunnels and greenery, or do without the fish tank all together — finding the current residents a safe new home of course. Other than that it was great to find a place that was reasonable, had vegan and gluten free options, and was delicious to boot. I am confident we will all remember to go here the next time we are back in Corvallis.

Good food, great service. We’ve been going to China delight for many years. It has been the only place in town that my daughter will go for Chinese food.

So this by far my favorite Chinese food restaurant in Corvallis thus far I eat here all of the time with my family sometimes once or twice a week. The meat is always tender, beef and broccoli is my favorite the chicken chow fun or lo mein is excellent also, but if you are looking for an orange chicken that isn’t swimming in a marmalade type substance and has that sweet but spicy kick this is your place it’s great… the staff are great here also always friendly. The downside to this place is that it’s an old un kept building a real dive it’s dusty and the bathrooms are disgusting so stay clear from them, it really needs renovations and it’s sad. The food is so good and they lean towards healthy ingredients and they have many healthy options for diet sensitivities the bottom line is I love this place try it for the food or just order take out!

The service is always good but when I get takeout the portions are smaller than dine in but the same price. Overall the food is good, and well cooked. The restaurant is clean and fairly pretty. Coupons are also always good :)

This was my first visit, and I ordered carry-out. All in all, not bad, but there were both pluses and minuses. The hot and sour soup was very unusual, and tasted a lot like molasses, neither hot nor sour, almost sweet, actually. I’m a fan of hot and spur soup, and this really was not to my liking. The Kung Pao chicken was the best of our order: nice mix of chicken and vegetables topped off with peanuts, and reasonably tasty. My only complaint is that it is supposed to be a hot and spicy dish, but it had no heat at all. I didn’t even see any hot peppers in it. Finally, we tried Buddha’s Delight. This had a large and nice variety of vegetables, as well as(to my surprise) tofu and glass noodles, all in a brown sauce.(Compare to my review of the same dish at Shanghai Wok!). However, the sauce didn’t have much flavor. In all cases, I helped matters by adding a bit of my own chili paste from home. The portions were all large, piping hot, and looked appetizing, even out of carry-out cartons. The man who took my order was very friendly and gracious. Of the Chinese options I’ve tried in Corvallis so far, this is the one I’d be most likely to return to.

Ok, I gave a Chinese restaurant 5 stars. I love this place and every time I try other Chinese food I wish I was at China delight. Sure they have the standard sweet and sour pork and beef and broccoli which is not my thing. The do however have several dishes I absolutely love with tons of vegetarian options. Try their wonton soup full of veggies, chiicken, pork AND shrimp… not to mention wonderful delicate homemade wonton. I also love sesame temphe when I want some delicious breading. But my favorite is the Singapore noodle fill of spicy goodness. Jack and Ester are always there to take care of you and even though the lounge gets a bad wrap and sometimes has strange characters around I always have a fun time. Long story short, give the D a chance. You might not be disappointed!

This restaurant has been open at least a couple of decades and unfortunately I have to say the food is awful. I’ve tried this place at least a dozen times and it’s always a disappointment. The hot and sour soup was inedible. I tried 3 spoonfuls and I just couldn’t continue. The Mongolian beef was tasteless. It’s supposed to be «hot» but it was bland. I’m sorry China Delight, but I won’t be back. However, I do want to praise the staff for being friendly and accommodating.

China D. The China Dizzle. My home away from home. The kind of place that you could bring a girl friend to but warn your daughters about. Good music, strong drinks, great bartenders and always full of homies. Always the go to place after playing or watching a local rock show.

After driving down from Portland for a conference, I stopped in to grab some takeout for dinner. It was nothing short of horrible. Soggy spring rolls, greasy shrimp dish, just Awful. If this is a hot spot for locals I feel sorry for ya.

We had the lo mien, fried rice and egg rolls. The egg rolls are a good size and tasty. The lo mien and fried rice are okay, but the veggies are very fresh and crispy. This is good go-to Chinese if you have a craving but not the best I’ve ever had.

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. Don’t be fooled by any«hype» you may have heard about China«Delight». We were excited to fill up on some classic Chinese fare, but the food we got I wouldn’t even serve to my hogs. The meat did not look like any meat I’d ever seen, the sauces being overly and improperly flavored, and don’t even get me started on the service… We ordered four dishes and couldn’t even decide which one was our least favorite. To accompany these four dishes we were served one small dish of FRIED rice(if you could consider oil drenched rice with minimal bits of carrots«fried rice») for three people, after asking for a second we were served an even smaller amount. To top it all off we blew $ 50 on the W O R S T Chinese food we’ve ever had. Please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to eat– I wish someone had warned me.

The best dive bar! Affordable drinks and a decent juke box. Good bartenders. It’s my go-to.

It’s not the classiest or the most upstanding but they sure do pour a heavy drink and they serve until 230. China D is my favorite last call spot. The bartenders and cool and relaxed. Their the kind of people you want to hang with after they get off. Don’t get the food; it’s microwaved but you didn’t come here for food. You came for a stiff drink at 225am. Enjoy!

Everyone I know has said this is their absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in Corvallis. I ordered several things across the board and was not pleased with any of it. Tofu and string bean in black bean sauce was probably the best of them, while served luke warm, the green beans seemed fresh. Beef in oyster sauce was completely unfortunate. I don’t think it was actual beef, the texture was mushy and fell apart in your mouth like it was mostly fat, with no flavor. Kung Pao shrimp had no kick to it, despite being labeled spicy. The Special Pad Thai was ordered specifically with no pork, as per my diet restrictions. But of course, there it was! Very dry, with a small portion of vegetables and meat on top only. The cream cheese ragoons were perfect, accounting for the second star. I

Went to this place since it was in the same plaza as my hotel. I have a mixed opinion of this place: — The Egg Drop(they call it egg and flour or something like that) soup was delicious. Wish I had ordered more of it. — The Fried wontons used ground up pork meat which probably explained why it was so dry. Though the sweet & sour sauce served with it was pretty good. And the crunch it had was pretty good too. — I chose the number one which had red pork, chicken resembling General Tsao’s chicken, and fried rice. The fried rice was bland, the vegetables also bland and mushy, and the red pork was also dry. The chicken was ok but still could have been better. — The portions were pretty big. At least the service was decent and the owners were super nice and helpful. Looking at what other people ordered around me, I could tell that this place could cook pretty good food. So at the very least, don’t order the number one combo. I’d probably come back for the egg drop soup at the very least. It’s worth a try at the very least. Just be very very selective of what you order. If I come back the next day, I’ll update my review.

Went there twice this week. The first time had the healthy chicken with vegetable… bland… but then there’s a reason why they warned you that there is no salt and no sugar in that dish. The sizzling beef dish was good. Second night I had the sauteed bok choi with minced garlic — yummy. I don’t think that was on the menu. Also had the sizzling shrimp with mixed vegetables(in place of green peppers). Both dishes taste like what I would get at home. Yummm… So overall not bad… it really depends on the dish you order. Healthy options are bland but hey you choose to order the healthy version. They were very flexible on making changes to the order so adjust your heart away to get the food the way you like it. I would go back to try more dishes and learn which ones I like and which one I would not order again. Happy eating… ^.^

This place uses fresh food and has a lot of great vegetarian/healthy options. The hot & sour soup is one of the best I’ve tried — also love the cashew chicken. Portions are big, I always take home a box or two(except when I leave it on the table… again). The owners and staff are always friendly, the restaurant is clean and service is fast. An enjoyable lunch option if you are watching the clock.

One of my favorite places in Corvallis. Great vegetarian selection, friendly and prompt service. I especially love the fried little noodles brought to your table as a snack. Try the Sesame Tempeh, it is fantastic, and even better as leftovers. Their Pepsi tastes better than anywhere else, oddly. Also they have a very neat aquarium filled with giant goldfish.

OK, just tried their vegetable egg rolls for the first time. Whoa. Homemade, huge, and yummy. And a steal at 2 for $ 4. Seriously, try them. Love the owners. Always nice and happy. And I love the sugar-free and healthy options. Something for everyone! #corvsmb
