Jack In the Box

The advertising brought us back today. Wife & I walked in at near noon. Cold outside but felt like walking into a refrigerator! Only 2 customers seated and one ordering. Left immediately and went to a competitor. Warm inside — seating nearly full — long line to order. We eat lunch out every day and expect a reasonable degree of comfort.

I normally don’t bother rating fast food places, because you know what you’re going to get. However, this is the third time in a row that I’ve been at the drive-​through window with NOBODY else in line behind me, and the employee asks me to pull forward just past the window. I asked if there was someone behind me, because I don’t mind moving out of the way if my order takes longer than someone else’s, but nope. The manager actually admitted that she was «trying to improve times.» I saw another employee get in trouble for telling me the same thing on a previous visit, and that time, the manager said, «She’s a new employee and doesn’t know how to talk to customers.» Because the employee told me the truth… they don’t want the timer showing the ACTUAL time it takes to give customers food. They aren’t improving times… they’re treating customers rudely in an attempt to make their times look better than they actually are. The timer should reflect the actual time it takes to receive food, not how fast customers can be hustled away from the sensor. Both times I actually asked if there was a car behind me, I was polite and willing to move out of the way for other customers, but I was treated rudely just for asking.

Everything you would expect from a Jack in the Box plus a nice cashier. We were clearly from out of town and she made us feel welcome instead of an inconvenience. She helped us get the meal discount and was cheerful.
We could overhear lots of funny kitchen talk with her employees as well. Very mice to know that the people who serve your food are being treated with kindness.

They always have great food and some of the nicest employees I’ve ever come in contact with. Special shoutout to Richard who is always in an upbeat and positive mood and always takes care of the customer to the fullest. Thank you Richard!

Although they’ve had some great ads, and a lot of the food looks great (for fast food burgers) the handful of times I’ve eaten here has had me walking away with gastric distress to put it mildly. I’m not sure if it’s a cleanliness issue or if the food just plain doesn’t agree with me, but sadly I cannot recommend this place in good conscience when it comes to fast food.
