This is the sort of family run business which still provides excellent service, skilled workmanship and friendly chat. We had mattresses replaced in our travel trailer, and we are 100% satisfied with the new pads, encased in washable covers! Their prices are reasonable, and their product is fantastic!

My sofa was still in good condition, but the cushions had gone soft, saggy, and uncomfortable. I took one cushion in to The Foam Man. In one hour I picked up the re-stuffed cushion and additional ‘batted’ foam cores ready to stuff into the remaining cushions. Service was very friendly, and the pricing compares well to cushion replacement quotes I’ve found on the ‘net, and is much better than upholstery shops. The store itself is interesting to explore — I never knew there were so many types of foam. Custom dog beds too! My couch is now as plump and comfortable as new.

He’s done two custom foam jobs for camera gear for me to fit specific cases. Both pretty complex and very custom. Prices are excellent. Service is great. He has everything or can get it. Really wants to help you protect your gear and will spend the time to get it right.

I set out to source cushions for a vintage RV project. The quotes I received from upholsters knocked me over. So I changed my tack and planned to make them myself, as modest sewing skills are in my bag of tricks. But getting foam proved to be a challenge. The cheap stuff is… funky. It smells. It feels funny. It’s sold by craft stores in a set size and no one there knows anything about it. My husband just happened to remember seeing a foam man along side the road in Corvallis. Yes, a statue of a man made of foam. He said it had to be someone selling… foam. So I hit Google and typed in… what else… foam man covallis and TADA, I found The Foam Man! A short drive from Salem later we were talking to the owner who seemed to enjoy our endless questions: how is foam made? what is it made of? what’s the difference between this foam and that foam? what type of foam would you use for this project, or that need? And why is there a bag of foam pieces hanging from the ceiling?(Just so you know, he sells foam chunks/bits and vacuums down the bags for easy storage/sale; the sample bag is to show how much bulk you get once the bags are unsealed and fluffed.) Not only did he have exactly what we needed, but he cut the exact sizes we needed, so all I had to do was make the covers. Which wouldn’t have turned out so well if he hadn’t given me advice in sizing so I’d end up with a nice snug fit. Check out the finished product: Great service. Can’t be beat.

I love that this place still exists. It’s one of those stores that you think would fail in a week… but it’s still there year after year. They sell… foam. Foam of all shapes, sizes, colors, types, textures, etc. The owner is a really nice guy who definitely knows his stuff. I needed a case fit with foam to protect some valuable equipment. He helped me choose the exact right foam for the job and then cut the foam to the exact right size and shape.
