Had lunch here today. Excellent fish tacos! Try the mac & cheese bits, very nice. This place is awesome, it’s the only place like it in the OG, Riverside, Cos Cob area. Great for Breakfast and Lunch or just a quick hot dog if you need a hot dog fix. Small place, fills up fast.

This was the first stop on our trip up to Rhode Island, and was a refreshing difference from NYC diners! Homey, down-to-earth, and with an extensive, *cheap* menu, this was a great out-of-the-way place for us to stop at. Portions are huge and very affordable, and they even have gluten-free and veggie options! I actually wasn’t a huge fan of the chili –I found the spices too overwhelming, thus not letting the meat and beans speak for themselves.

Stopped by today for late lunch. Had the Reuben Hot Dog and side salad. Hot dog with sauerkraut not so unusual but add cheese and thousand island dressing and it’s a real weiner, I meant winner(sorry couldn’t resist). Side salad with gorgonzola was surprisingly good. Looking forward to returning and trying some other menu items.

I had 2 weeks vacation and decided to take a friend on a hot dog tour of the northeast. This is stop #3. We only went to places we’ve never been before. Their menu doesn’t show bowls of chili. Kind of odd given their name. The parking lot is small. A few spots in front and in back. Inside is small as well, good amount of seating, though and a few tables. You can see right into the kitchen. The best thing about this place was the bathroom being really clean. My friend commented that if I needed to visit the bathroom, this would be the place to go. They do have cups and bowls of chili available. I got a bowl with sour cream and onions. My friend had a cup and also a hot dog. The hot dogs are Sabrett. This must be a style of chili up here. It looked very similar to what I had at Texas Chili in Port Chester, NY. Getting a bowl was a big mistake. I got it because the name of the restaurant says Chili Hub. I figured with a name like that this place must know what they’re doing. This stuff was disgusting! I don’t know why others have said the chili here was spicy. It’s not spicy at all. It had a sweet flavor and some odd taste in it that I couldn’t figure out what it was. I ate about half a bowl, and my stomach was starting to grumble. Had I continued I’d have genuinely been sick. I would not go back here and I would have rated it a 0 if I could. If you wish to follow the rest of my road trip, stop #4 is Pat’s Hubba Hubba in Stamford, CT:

Fantastic place with the best Chili around. Stopped in for breakfast after a friends recommendation. Had a bacon egg cheese and chili. I was sold on the first bite. Outstanding chili. Returned next day to try a chili burger. Wow perfect juicy real beef burger cooked to order. And chili is consistent! Pats Hubba Hubba and Firehouse Deli don’t come close. Going back today to try their Seasonal Fish. Friendly Service too! Highly recommend Joey B’s!

I had breakfast, so I cannot comment on the dogs or chili. I got their healthy sandwich(egg white, sliced tomato, turkey and wheat toast) that tasted good. My only complaint was that there wasn’t enough egg. Cute little spot. Not a ton of seating. I’ll go there again and try out their chili and dog.

Came in for breakfast on a business trip with my co-workers and I’m glad we did! I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs which was great. My coworker ordered the healthy start sandwich which was also very good. I know because I tried it myself! If you like spicy meat chili this is the spot for you! I asked to try the chili and it was spicy and delicious. I’m going to have to come back just to eat the chili!

My office orders lunch delivery from here frequently. Everyone loves the food, especially the philly cheesesteaks. A few guys here are legit obsessed with them. I love that they offer the option of chopping up your salad for you, although sometimes they chop it a little too well! The quality of the food is well beyond what you would assume from the greasy spoon name! The delivery is much quicker than other local places we order from, and we appreciate that.

We stopped on our way to Boston. Food was awesome. Cordon blue melt was great. Their sweet potato fries are among best I ever had.

Go when Joe C. is the chef in the kitchen. 5 stars when Joe is there. He’ll customize your meal anyway you want it as long as they have the ingredients. Good flame broiled burger, and it you’re seeking a lobster roll they are one of the local places that has one. Solid breakfast and lunch spot for simple food.

Always first rate. Good food, good prices, friendly owners and staff. I’m out to lunch often, and find that over the years I return to this restaurant very frequently.

Ok. Holiday weekend. Recipe for bad service. What do u get? A ton of «how was your meal», «what do you need» and smiles. Plus the food was awesome!!! I would drive the 4 hours for a meal here anytime. They know food and customer service. Thanks!!!

Joey B’s packs heaven in a milkshake. My brother and I came with my grandparents. We have the best times getting burgers, hot dogs, and best of all, their amazing milkshakes. I cannot think of another restaurant that would ever even try to top this one.

Found this place on Unilocal,of course. Felt like one of the locals. No curb appeal or great décor but the service is excellent and friendly and the food was just as good! Went to for breakfast and felt like one of the locals. It’s barstool seating only and it’s very small but it was beautiful out and all the doors were open as well as picnic tables outside. My friend and I went for breakfast. Pancakes were awesome and the breakfast sausage was excellent not gross like most places. Coffee was also delish. My friend had an omelet with home fries which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. Would 100% go back anytime I’m in the area :)

Stopped in on our way to Massachusetts. Had the huevos rancheros(sp) eggs benedict. Hubs got breakfast special. Both VERY good! Eggs were fresh and cooked perfectly! Spicy sausage was very tasty. Because we read that the hotdogs are amazing, we got one to go. We tried the Chicago style and it was DELICIOUS! Great and quick service, great food. Definitely worth a trip.

This Place is a Local Staple in the Community. Great breakfast, Very Good Lunch and Dinner. Have been here mostly for lunch but the times that I have had Breakfast here the breakfast was out of the park Good. Hot Dogs are Sabrett’s no big deal right? Wrong they are super creative and really elevate the hot dog to new Heights. Burgers are all solid. The Blacken Fish Tacos on Friday’s are spot on hit the spot good. Be aware Joey’s b’s can be very addicting. A bit pricey but well worth in for the quality product they put out.

We went to a concert the night before at the Capitol Theater and checked Unilocal for a breakfast spot on our drive home this morning. I fell for the great ratings. I have to wonder if I was experiencing Hans Christian Anderson’s «The Emperor’s New Clothes.» This place is tiny and has only counter service. No tables or booths. It is stuck in a time warp. There were 6 other people sitting at the counter inside who looked like they’d been on those stools for 30 years and were also stuck in a time warp. The front-of-the-house(if you could call it that) was filthy. I nearly slid across the floor. The vinyl upholstery on the stools was torn and was so dirty I didn’t want to sit on them, and I didn’t want to touch the counter let alone eat from it. The place smelled like old grease. We walked over to the side of the counter, and I could see the cook in the kitchen from there. The kitchen was filthy. The man working the counter was busy with his 6 regulars and never even looked at us. If the front-of-the-house of a restaurant is dirty and the owner/manager doesn’t care about the area the patrons can see, I can only assume that the kitchen and food storage areas are even worse. We were so grossed out we left.

The Hash! My buddy and ex-Yelp Elite Tim G. put me on this place when we took a trip to Fenway Park for the day. He told me «the chili is insanely good» and when I thought about chili for breakfast AND on a breakfast sandwich, I thought this wasn’t going to be what I wanted. Check that. It was everything and more. The Hash features a kinda shitty kaiser roll with two sunny side up eggs, cheese, chili, and corn beef hash. They kinda smash the roll a little, I’m not sure if this is on my purpose or by mistake, but it happens, and the yolk oozes out a little. It’s magical. For $ 4.50, I’m not sure how this sandwich could get any better. I’ve have another three right now. This place definitely lives up to the 4 ½ star hype, or at least their breakfast sandwiches do. If I’m in Greenwich for anything, I’m going to make sure to stop back here.
