Nina is the best barber I’ve ever been too. Hands down! Been coming in this shop for over two years and never been disappointed.

Alina… Knows her stuff and knows how to cut hair to the shape of your head. Nicest barber I have ever met. Good price for the quality of the cut. So much fun. AWESOME!

Rick has been cutting my hair/beard, and my kids hair for about 8months now, its a real barbershop where you are a person, not a number. They are great«real» people with great attitudes. I will absolutely continue to take my family there, and recommend them 100 percent. Great prices, great hair/beard cuts, great people. Adam’s barber Shop rocks.

Took both my father in law and my husband here and both were happy campers! My husband has been going to a salon for years and paying $ 40 a cut! Thank God she went on vacation and he had to come here by default. He was kicking and screaming but he went. Nina was very knowledgeable about men’s hair and really got into details of what she was doing and why. He looks great and he’s super happy. They even gave me a donut while I waited which to me is better than roses. Very small town feel. What a great find. We’ll be back.

Quick, excellent service. Nina did exactly what I asked. She was very informative about styles and what would be best for my hair type. Would highly recommend.

Stumbled across this place when owner Netty said hi to my girlfriend’s french bulldog I was out doing errands with. Netty stooped down to say hi and I was warning her about how the dog jumps into people’s faces which segued into how much and how hard that breed pulls on their leashes and she showed me a great trick where you wrap the leash around the dog’s belly and they stop pulling so hard. Something like a horse’s saddle cinch instead of those choke collars that go around the dog’s neck. I was impressed and remembering I need a haircut I asked her if she could recommend the barbershop, Adams Barber Shop, that we were standing in front of. Of course she turned out to be the owner with her husband Rick and I got a better haircut than I’ve gotten in my own neighborhood since my old favorite barber died several years ago. When I walked in both chairs were occupied by middle-aged guys with less hair than they used to have. That is also my situation and all three of us were sporting an older type of haircut known as a combover which has become unfashionable and is therefore difficult to get done right. Now most men who’ve lost any hair just shave everything off. Rick cut my hair and he did it very well. I went back to my girlfriend’s to see what she thought and she was very happy with it. Considering that I’ve been trying out new barbers every time I’ve gotten a haircut over the last 6 months, and she’s criticized each of those haircuts repeatedly, this is an important rating for me in my own life. Edit: I live 50-something miles away but intend to stop by Costa Mesa for my haircuts when I’m down in OC in the future. This last line was funnier as first posted but that’s only because I fell asleep while trying to write it and then accidentally hit the Send button, lol.

Good price, good cut, and good people. The wait was short, and they offered me water for my wait. They were warm and welcome. Ask for Nina, she definitely knows how to do a proper fade. She was quick, detailed, amd friendly. She made sure to ask me how I normally set my hair and went so far as to show me how she approached cutting my hair. I had a medium fade to the skin with trim on top for $ 15 base before tip. I would definitely come back. Higbly recommended.

This is by far my favorite place to get my haircut Nina the stylist there is amazing she’s done my hair quite a few times and every time she does my hair I rarely get compliments not just one or two but many compliments its funny how when I get my hair cut anywhere else I don’t get the compliments and I don’t have that confidence thank you Nina and thank you Adams barber shop

This is a great little hole in the wall barber shop. First time in for a haircut and I gotta say I’m impressed. My stylist Nina worked magic with the clippers! It was a bit of a wait as the place is not that big but nothing too bad. Once I got seated, Nina was really thorough about asking me how I wanted my cut and how I styled my hair. When she got to work she took her time and made sure everything was straight. The price was right, service was exceptional, I definitely see myself coming back in the future.

Don’t let the exterior fool you, the haircuts here are legit, and at just $ 15, are affordable for the area. Lots of parking, but you may have a hard time finding this place the first time you come, it’s located off a little side street next to Adams, so it doesn’t actually face Harbor, despite having a Harbor address.

Had a great experience at the Adams Barbershop. My barber Janie did a flawless job and I am so pleased with my hair cut, great price everyone was very friendly. Would definitely pay over $ 20 for this haircut so remember to tip well.

Just the best, very best barber in the area. Have been excellently cut by Sue for nearly 20 years. I have thin straight hair that either flies away or clumps and lays flat. Sue manages to make even me look good. John B

This is my Barber shop. Super legit place. Timmy is my Barber… I’m very picky and have gone to many places. Timmy can go scissors to scissors with anyone I’ve had cut my hair. He’s a funny guy, has tons of experience, and can really cut any type of hair. GOTOTIMMY! He has become my buddy bc he takes care of me everytime. No thrills and frills, it’s straight to the point here. The more descriptive you are about how you want your cut, the better off you will be. You may have to wait, but who cares. When I see a wait at a Barber, makes me comfortable to know others trust them. My go to place for sure for a great cut. If you go, tell Timmy I sent you. He won’t give you a discount and probably won’t even remember who I am. Haha

My boyfriend and I came in yesterday to get him a much needed haircut. We came in around 3 and both women working had someone in their chair. The wait was only 15 minutes and once she was done with the previous client, Trisha came to help us. She understood exactly what he wanted and got to work. By the time I was done writing a Unilocal review for another establishment, she was done! Only $ 15 for a cut and the best part? There were no communication barriers like some other barber shops in the area. The location is awesome, right by OCC and across the street from our apartment. We will definitely be coming back to this barber shop whenever he is needing a hair cut. The only negative thing he could think of is that Trisha was a bit rough on his head.

I’ve gotten my haircut a handful of times at Adams Barber Shop and each time I walked out of there happy. Brittany has friends who do hair and that would be good too except for the whole appointment thing. I like the convenience of walking into a joint and getting my hair cut! I shouldn’t have to set an appointment and wait a week like I’m getting ready to meet the goddamn President. Plus, I typically wait way too long to cut my hair anyway. So, by the time I decide to do it, it’s WAYPASSEDCRITICAL. This is the place to go if you’re kinda no frills like me. If I sit down asking for a haircut I don’t need to be hassled about shaping my eyebrows or doing something a woman would ask for. I AM A MAN. I don’t need a freakin’ spa treatment. Just cut my hair. From what I’ve seen the times I’ve been there, there are three people who work. Two women who are friendly, genuine, and more than competent. There is also a guy named Jimmy, I think. I heard one of the ladies refer to him. I could be wrong. Anyway, he’s solid too. So if you’re a MAN and want your hair cut in a manner befitting your sex, go to ABS and let them hook you up. If on the other hand, you’re fond of the smell of lavender and delicate perfumes… keep setting your appointments and meeting with the President!

Needed a cut and was in a bit of a rush… came here as I’d been looking for somewhere close to home. There was only one person working and he had one in the chair and one waiting. So I took a seat and grabbed a magazine to wait. My turn came about 30 minutes later. Guys name was Timmy, I think. Nice enough guy. Good cut. Gave me a sample of new stuff to try for my hair. So far so good. I’ll be back in a month or so.
