This place was introduced to me by my buddy a couple of days ago. Great service, fresh and health food, reasonably priced well. Had the chicken Salad sandwich with a side of fruits. Just a perfect amount of food for lunch. Will be back soon. Want to try their smoothies and several other items that looked great.

I love Jans. They have the best acai bowls… the power acai bowl has protein powder and peanut butter in it, which keeps me full for 5+ hours. The staff is friendly and the place is always clean and smells delicious. There’s nothing I haven’t tried here that I don’t love!

Some may argue that it is expensive for a lunch spot but you get what you pay for. I try to eat here 2−3x per week.

Every smoothie I’ve ordered has been great. My boyfriend seems to love the tuna sandwich. But there’s one thing that sets this place apart from other smoothie shops — They’ve got made-to-order guacamole on the menu. Made fresh and level of hotness to match your desire, the guac is what keeps me coming back to Jan’s. I do with parking was better, as I’ve experienced difficulties parking there on weekend mornings.

I always order the tuna avocado. Its definitely healthy but a little pricey. They definitely cut back on the avocado, but still charge the same price.

My orders… *Chicken salad sand on wheat. No Mustard– all of the veggies were really fresh, piled high I ordered it with vegan mayo, they just gave you a teeny tiny amount of mayo so you have to decide if that’s OK for you. My side was the fruit, it was extremely fresh and had things like kiwi, banana and berries. The sandwich itself is a little bit small and the chicken salad a tad bit bland but it is a very healthy meal. Sometimes it’s good to skip some of the fat and salt. * Tuna salad sand on wheat. no mustard pasta salad with, very good. Same thing a little bit small and a little bit bland but very healthy I enjoyed it. *Peanut butter, dates, coco vegan smoothy. Yummy. The only issue I had with this shake is they could have blended it a little bit better otherwise it was delicious and extremely rich. *All the root veggie drink. Healthy, fresh. Better than Mother’s. *Jans salad with avocado. The salad was really good, a lot of fresh avo slices. The dressing(house herb) meh. *Guacamole n Have-A chip bag. Medium heat. Really fresh. A lot of flavor. Next time I am getting mild. You get a lot of guac for the price.

I eat at Jans almost everyday. I have been going to Jans since they first opened back in the 90s in Huntington Beach. The new owner has improved Jans tremendously. Plus she started this great location on 17th street. The food is always fresh, healthy, generous portions, always tastes delicious, and the service is impeccable. Michelle and Jeff will make sure to take care of you if you have any problems. The food or service never lets me down…:)

Unfortunately I had the same problem regarding phone in orders that other Unilocalers had with this location. I ordered a vegan chocolate delight smoothie and a kale salad with no cheese over the phone for takeout, but received the fiesta protein bowl instead. They got half my order correct. The vegan chocolate delight smoothie was very delicious. But the fiesta protein bowl did not even have any kale in it and had about a half cup of cheese in it, which I tried to pick out, since I cannot have any dairy. It tasted OK, but not what I was expecting. I would advise anyone ordering to place their order inside the café as opposed to over the phone since it seems very noisy inside and very difficult to hear. I added one extra star because I believe if they had gotten my order correct, I would’ve enjoyed it thoroughly.

I love fresh juice… I’m all about drinking and eating things that work for you… Go Green Juice(I added apple) was delicious! My girl ordered the avocado toast… This is NOT something I would have normally ordered. But Oh me Oh my… the chili flakes added a hint of spice to the otherwise bland avocado… Delicious! Lots of Vitamin intake this day!

I had doubts at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think the real issue is that I am just a judgmental judith when it comes to anything that has«health» in its name. I definitely recommend the Surf Shop Special. You get half a sandwich and your choice of soup or salad with also a side of chips. I had the classic with the works. It comes with turkey, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, soy bacon bits and my favorite, sprouts. I think that sprouts in general add an overall freshness and earthiness to a sandwich. As my soup choice, I had the cream of broccoli soup which was super tasty. In all, a great place to stop for a quick and healthy lunch.

This is the home of my favorite salad ever! I have been a regular at the HB location for the past decade and so happy there’s another location closer to home! I always get the Jan’s original salad with turkey, avocado and herb dressing– nothing is as fresh and healthy and delicious!!! I always get a fresh juice or date smoothie to go with it too :) the portion is also so large it is perfect for 2 whole meals! Today I got tuna with the salad and it is sooooo good!

I can only vouch for breakfast and things that I personally noticed, so maybe I’ll update this if I go back. First, I’ll start by saying the food was good and fresh. Most of my retain comes from The fact that I think this places deceives you into thinking you are ordering healthy but then you get your food and are unknowingly eating a lot more. I inquired about the peanut butter acai bowl and how much pb was in it. He told me a scoop, like an ice real scoop. Did not get that. Normal ppl don’t need a scoopful of pb in one sitting. Ali got avocado toast. Looked really good and looked like a lot of avocado. I mean A LOT. When he came back with my juice(which was fine although who knows if there’s w scoop of something in there as well), I asked approx how many avocados that was and he said 2 – 3. Cue my look of horror. He said they liked to give you your money’s worth. Ummm how about charge less and don’t give me 3 days worth of avocados. The one positive is that it tastes good and they were forthcoming when I asked about Ingredients. The bad– I could have unknowingly ate 2 – 3 avocados in one meal.

I’m addicted. To their smoothies, that is. The Oats, Nuts, and Berries smoothie is like smashing up a blueberry pie and putting it into a cup. Its that good. And is totally a meal. You won’t be hungry for hours! Their wraps are great as well. Why didn’t I give Jans 5 stars? Unfortunately I’ve been spending a small fortune on these smoothies. I truly wish they were just a tad cheaper. Staff is also super friendly. And if you call for pick-up they are very fast!

Just saw one of the workers blow his nose with gloves on and continue to work with food. That’s how you get 20 people sick easily. Get it together. I told the manager and she wasn’t all that apologetic. Just a thoroughly gross experience.

Downright surly service from cashier with ultra blonde hair — snapped at me when I couldn’t see the menu and when I asked what the raffle was for. I paused for a second, giving her a chance to self-correct. Then, much to my dismay, she added, «Don’t fill out your ticket here — go over there!!!» That was enough to make me want to walk out, but I already paid. Besides, I was hungry and curious to try. Food(tuna with avocado and fruit) was a little pricey, but tasted fresh and delicious — utlimately worth it for what might be my one and only visit here.(There are just too many other good restaurants in the area to have to deal with this kind of «service»). Other staff were friendly. For whatever reason, this person was just on one, so I won’t take it personally. It was too lovely of a day to let her issue be my issue. P. S. I strongly dislike giving poor reviews. But the manager was on-site giving free tickets for ice cream. Had she stopped to talk, she could have found out then. But she was too busy talking to people she already knew. I hope they can make improvements because it is a nice place to go for a nice lunch. I hope, like their sister café in HB, they are around for a long time to come.

One of my favorite places to go for lunch! I always get their Tuna and avocado sandwich with a side of fruit salad($ 8.95) Refresher smoothie($ 5.95) Acai bowl($ 7.95) The sandwich comes with sprouts and turkey bacon, but I skip those. Fruit salad has a good combination of various fruits and is always fresh. The refresher smoothie is exactly that: REFRESHING! So good I forget it’s all fruit, not like the Jamba Juice stuff that’s filled with sugar sherbet. Lastly, their acai bowls are the perfect healthy lunch option if you’re trying to be good but still want something tasty. They give you an awesome portion of this too, so you can definitely get full from this. Tasty and good for you… Loveee itttt !

The 1955 «Only You» hit by The Platters. Here’s the kalelicious version! Only you can make me see new light Only you can make something healthy alright «Only you and you alone» Have healed me through and through And filled my health with nutrients for only you It was one of those atypical days where I had some«me» time. Decided to treat myself to either boba tea or kalelicious @ Jan’s. Two totally different things! One was healthy and the other one… not so much. Headed North towards boba, when I had a sudden urge to go clean & green. Busted a U-TURN and was on my way to Jan’s. TIDBITS: 1) Offer smoothies, salads, juices, sandwiches, and bowls. 2) Parking is challenging 3) Super chill & casual; indoor & outdoor seating 4) Service is a hit or miss. Don’t expect too much. Check your orders. 5) Call ahead to order if you want to save time. Get the name of the person who helped you. Sounds like they are not very meticulous about their orders. Generally, I would not write a review for just one item. But, this is the exception. I am in LOVE with the KALELICIOUS. A smoothie with kale, spinach, apple, pineapple, banana and apple juice. It’s fresh, clean, healthy, sweet and best of all it doesn’t taste like GRASS. A win win in my eyes. Yes, it’s a bit pricey: $ 5.95. But, it’s a good size and loaded with fiber & nutrients. For the 1st time in JoAnn history I chose something else over boba tea. Must admit, it’s the better choice. Your bowels, waist and skin will thank you for it.
