If I wear heels to work(and let’s be honest, when don’t I wear heels?), Park Prive Café, aka Patina to some folks, is the only lunch spot within walking distance of my office. Like Noah C. said, the café is completely hidden in the middle of a business park between a concrete building and a small vineyard. Rumor has it that Mondavi once owned the few grape vines on this street, but I’m not sure how reliable that is. I love love love their chicken pesto panini, but the daily specials are and soups are definitely worth taking a look at. One particularly delicious special is the turkey enchiladas. Sandwiches and paninis are quick and easy lunch options and are served with a side salad and vinaigrette. Park Prive packs up during the lunch hour, but there’s usually a seat to be found — inside seating includes individual tables and bar seating; outside there are plenty of tables. Blankets are also available if it’s chilly. Sometimes I come here during mid-morning breaks — their croissants are always a good choice, and the pastry case is always brimming with other breakfast-y options. If you need an afternoon pick-me-up, the café also has a decent selection of chocolates, cookies, and other sweets for sale next to the cash register. The staff are always very friendly, which of course adds to the experience.
