Portions are huge! Came here for lunch and got the special; spaghetti Putanesca. It included garlic bread and salad. The salad had a choice of ranch or Italian dressing. My salad was drenched in Italian dressing. Next time, I will ask for dressing on the side. I checked in on Unilocal and got a free drink. Garlic bread was buttery goodness and reminds me of Texas toast. Each entrée came with 2 large slice of garlic bread. Spaghetti Putanesca was huge. I barely ate 1⁄3 before I packed it to go. The flavors were delicious. The olives were not over powering. Server was friendly and quick to response to us. Food took a little longer than expected.

Really nice service and huge portions. Definite recommend. Only reason it’s not 5 is that the atmosphere could be improved by not having the radio playing in the background.

This place never fails me. My husband is a big pizza fan, he will go from place to place trying pizzas. he liked the pizza, one thing he told me that would like to be taken into consideration is that maybe the crust should be smaller from the edges and the base of the pizza is too thin.

Been eating here since early 80’s. Love the super sized large pizza slice. Large enough to share with someone else if having it for lunch. Can get very busy especially on all you can eat special days.

My favorite NY style pizza and Italian food since college! A total hole in the wall and easy to miss when driving past as it’s located in a tiny business plaza… probably seats 25 – 30 people max in there. Used to come here all the time in between or after classes at OCC, and I always try to grab a slice these days if I ever have to come thru Costa Mesa. Still the best priced food and great pizzas, also be sure to check out their daily specials. Best recommendation and go to item has to be the giant slice and salad combo. BAM!!! Now get it!!!

This is a nice hidden gem in Costa Mesa. The prices are fair and you get a lot of food for the amount you pay. Everything on their menu is delicious; lasagna, chicken parmigiana, meatballs, pizza, etc. you won’t be let down, promise. I wish their was more seating bra aide it does fill up quiet fast but overall it’s worth the money and lil wait for a booth.

Their food is amazing! And the staff is always friendly, courteous and upbeat. This is my go-to place for takeout just because of how great the staff is and how wonderful the food is. Every single time. Especially the fried mozzarella! I have tried so much from the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Just an all-around great time.

The pizza was OK. I managed to order a King Pizza, which turned out to be a GIGANTIC square pan pizza(I did not see the size reference on the wall…) for 2 of us.(I ordered it because it was Tuesday, and they have a special discount on pizzas on Tuesday…) I liked how they offered free side salad while we waited for our monster pizza(veggie pizza minus olives). After 20 minutes or so, our pizza emerged…, and it was MASSIVE! Then, I realized it had all kinds of meat on it! ARRRGHHH I don’t like pepperoni/sausage/ground beef on my pizza. I just wanted a veggie one. However, I am not a strict vegetarian and know how to pick the meats off of the pizza, which I did. Our server guy was extremely apologetic and offered us a discount as well as free dessert(tiramisu). I don’t know how much discount we ended up receiving(as I didn’t see the bill), but the tiramisu sure was delicious! It was creamy, not overly sweet and perfectly stacked up as a good tiramisu should be. I’d go back for non-ginormous«veggie» pizza or pasta and tiramisu!

I was impressed by this hole-in-the-wall Italian food joint. From the outside it looks humongous. They have a giant mirror on the wall that gives off the impression that the restaurant is double its size. When you walk in you realize it’s just a giant mirror on the wall. This said, their is very limited seating. Lucky for us we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. We came on a Saturday night after 9 p.m. and there were only a few groups of people. There aren’t any video games for the kids, or a restroom just for customers. The restroom is to be shared with staff, so walking through the kitchen to go to the bathroom(in the back), is a must. Feels a little weird, specially since the backside of the restaurant, opens up into a dark alley. For my son I ordered from the kids menu. He wanted pizza, so I ordered him the half-slice combo for kids. Comes with a drink and a salad I believe for a little over $ 5. Don’t be fooled by the half-slice, it was huge! My cousin and I ordered a pizza for ourselves as well, with all the fixings, and were not disappointed. All the toppings appeared to be very fresh and clean. My cousin wanted to know how I found such a great spot, I told him« Unilocal my friend» « Unilocal!» He is now a regular on the Unilocal application hahahaha. Needless to say the food was delicious and I can’t wait to visit again.

Just finished the night nation 5k with my cousin and daughter and was looking for a place to stuff our face. Looked for a pizza shop on Unilocal and noticed that this was the only place open. I’m glad it was. I was really impressed by this place. It might be a small, but their portions make up for it. It’s really cozy and they have some really cool Italian décor. The staff is really in tune with the customers. I liked that. My daughter had the kids spaghetti and my cousin and I got a large oro special pizza. Everything was fresh and the flavor was amazing. One of the best pizza I’ve had in SoCal thus far. I definitely recommend this place. I’ll be back.

Got heart shaped pizza for Pre-Valentines Day lunch. Small size was so huge and heart shaped was so cute I like the pizza sauce. Fried mozzarella was amazing too. Wanna try their dairy special next time!

A must have if your looking for a good quality pizza. I happened to be in the area and my friend told me about this pizza place. He works there and highly recommends it. I had to give it a try. I had the pepperoni pizza slice. Not only was the portion huge it was actually really good. Definitely better than what I’m used to at Costco. The pepperoni was at a mild spiciness. It was really rich with cheese, just how I like it. My FAVORITE part had to be the crust. I usually don’t eat the crust at any pizza place but the playful crisp of the crust here was awesome. It also had a wonderful chewiness to it as well. Being a pizza place, it’s obvious you have to try the pizza. I recommend it. I sill have not tried anything else on the menu though that will be for a future visit. I hope you try this gem of the OC. Cheers!

I love this place. I have been coming here for years and will always come by here when I am in the area. They offer a huge 28″ pizza, giant sclices and great deals each day of the week.

Not Pizza D’Oro’s best effort. My waitress Vanessa could not have been more more unprofessional. When I ordered the lunch special(one topping Pizza), I ordered Mushroom. Vanessa delivered Pepperoni. When I corrected her that I ordered Mushroom pizza, she defiantly said, «You ordered Pepperoni.» Nice. Let’s tell the one paying your paycheck they’re wrong. As I put my salad plate to the side(part of my Lunch combo), which clearly was not finished, Vanessa picked it up and walked off with it, without asking if I was done(I had all my carrots which I had not finished eating). I was looking elsewhere, which is why I didn’t see it. I eventually asked the other server for another side of ranch dressing(Vanessa removed my ranch). I used a Unilocal check-in for a free coke with my purchase. Vanessa tried to charge me for the check in. When I corrected her and told her not to charge me, as they have never done in the past, Vanessa said, «Well, in the future, the Unilocal is a one time offer only.» No, Vanessa. The check in clearly says, One per day, per order. It does NOT say One time offer only. Vanessa needs to learn the companies offers more clearly, so she stops giving guests incorrect information. Aside from the rude waitress, the incorrect order, insulting me and incorrectly telling me the Unilocal Check In was invalid, it was a fine meal. Pizza D’oro, your servers need to be retrained in Guests relations and the product promotions. I trust my next visit ~ if there is one ~ will be more pleasant. Saturday 16 January 2016 2:00 pm

HUGE portions of mediocre Italian food. Pizza is kind of soggy, and everything else is just OK. Nothing really amazing. Good if you want to feed a lot of people for cheap. They’ve got some nice daily specials, but my thoughts still remain on portion oversizing and the mediocracy of the food.

This place has been around for a long time. I used to order a take out almost every week back in the days…1993? Well, the food tasted exactly the same! Delicious lasagna, meatball sandwich, Italian sub, meatballs, etc. And the service was friendly just like before. The waitresses were all very nice. I shall be back real soon! Highly recommended folks.

I can see why people like this place. My large sized pizza was slightly oversize, and masking tape was needed to seal the contents of my pizza in its box. It makes you feel like you get more than what you pay for. The menu here is comprehensive. There’s pasta, pizza, subs, and every imaginable thing you could possibly want at your earliest convenience at a pizza joint. Kudos to that. I placed an order to go: –3 cheese penne with meatball($ 9.70): perhaps I should have ordered a more standard pasta because this was in fact, terrible. Everything was congealed and bland. The meatballs tasted processed and didn’t really go with the penne. My bad for making the protein decision on this one, but really, the penne and meatballs didn’t meld together. –chicken breast parmesan sandwich($ 8.95): the sandwich was substantial in size, but again, lacked flavor. It was very okay. –D’Oro special — black olive, onion, green pepper, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms($ 24.25 for a large): the pizza was hearty with many toppings and the crust had a nice chew. What was lacking was a unifying flavor to the pizza — many good toppings, but a confused identity. I found the crust to be undercooked, and a little too doughy for my taste too. Really good bang for your buck here, but if you’re looking for a gourmet pizza, I would try elsewhere.

Great family pizza place. Sooooo not good for you(health wise), but very good(taste wise). They have ONE of the largest pizzas I’ve seen(28″). Not super cheap, but this isn’t dominos. Parking is easy. Relatively easy to find. Off of major road. Food is good. No wait. Can sit and be waited on. The waitress that served us was very nice. They have more than just pizza. Good Bread(garlic, garlic cheese, regular). Significant other thinks not enough cheese on the cheesey bread. I disagree. So many Italian comfort options and plenty of pastas to choose from. Entrees come with soup or salad(lentil soup is meh. Salad is just regular salad with ranch or Italian dressing). Free refills on drinks. Wouldn’t say this is Vegan friendly, but some veggie options for you vegitarians. They have a TV that plays sports. Usually music playing in background. Not romantic. Family friendly. Would recommend to anyone in te mood for some yummy pizza or Italian comfort food(spinach lazagna… nom nom). Free drink with check in!

The food is cheap and you get a lot of food. I personally did not like the spaghetti but the Pizza a was good. This place has been here for like 25 years so maybe my taste buds are not like everyone else because you cant have an Italian restaurant in Orange County and offer bad spaghetti. That being said I recommend that you check this place out for yourself.
