I certainly hadn’t been here in some time, and my wife and I decided to check it out. This was a Friday night, and a country band was playing. We ordered a couple of beers and our bill was $ 20. Wow! Now I know why I’m not a regular here. At least the beers were good and strong. Unless you’re with the band or you’re rich, I would recommend visiting during Happy Hour. Here’s the latest from their website: Happy Hour Every Day Half Priced Drinks! Saturday-Wednesday 3:30−5:00 Thursday-Friday 5:00−6:00 $ 3 Bullet Shots Jäger, Rumplemintz, Sailor Jerry, Jameson, Fireball & All Well Liquor Monday & Tuesday ALLNIGHT& The Rest of the Week Till 9PM

Really cool place, kind of hole in the wall. Good drinks and had fun dancing. Bartenders are pretty rad, I left my phone there last night and someone turned it in and they charged my phone before I picked it up today. Also shout out to Jopin who turned my phone in – thanks man!

Hm. Well, it’s definitely not The Helm anymore! My friend and I used to go there for some serious Dive, but it’s been replaced with the much more OC Douchebag Central, The Boulevard. But know your audience. This location is crammed with that demographic, so it works. We were there on a Sat Night, it was slammed. My friend knew some of the bartenders so we got a little faster service than most people might. Lots of Craft Cocktail type things, everyone wants to be CRAFTY now. Drinks were good, not cheap. They have the same back patio that the Helm had, and same thing… everyone goes out there to smoke, so don’t think you’re getting any fresh air if you decide to venture out that way. Interior décor is trendy, cool. It’s fine, I’d go again. It’s better than the Helm, it’s more my speed than Goat Hill. But, I really don’t go to OC that much. So maybe I will return, maybe I won’t.

The place isn’t so bad but the service was awful. Some douche named Justin helped me and had no clue what he was doing. Messed up my drink and when he finally gave me the right one it tasted like shit– no alcohol in it at all it seemed like. Cool environment and there was a British guy who actually knew what he was doing so go to him if u come here– Justin should look into another occupation though I don’t think bar-tending is his thing…

Very nice bar, the band was great. It is connected to another bar where you can play a game of pool, smoke a cigar. We enjoyed doing all of that at the Boulevard. Clean bar and excellent drinks. They really have so many Draft beer choices.

I just can’t justify $ 27 for two small shots of tequila. AND we had to ask for limes. Across the street at saddle ranch, two huge double shots for $ 20 is way better. It was crowded. The patio was nice though. That’s where I give the stars. Where’s the ladies restroom? Hmm.

This place is a dump! The bartender and manager that were on floor, the night of my visit, were highly!!! incompetent. We as consumers, who are spending our hard earned money, deserve, and need to do a better job at demanding!, professionalism and proper qualifications from the modern«bartender». There are far too many establishments, especially in Orange County, who stick anyone behind a bar, and call them, «Bartenders», when they are clearly not qualified! This place has a sign that says, «Cocktails» outside of it. That sign needs to be ripped down!, because they don’t have a clue what a cocktail even is!

This is such a hole in the wall place and I love it. The outside seating area is small but efficient. I enjoy who it resembles an old school saloon. Drinks are very strong, but being a wine drinker, I was sad to see that the wine list was not large. I went on two occasions; one night there was an amazing DJ and the second time they had a great country band! The bartenders are also super nice!

Both Jon and Andy are great at what they do. Also the whole atmosphere is very conducive to a good time. They have live music most nights as well as a DJ Friday and Saturday Nights.

I’ve been coming here for a while and today I decided to finally review it. It’s a great spot! Unlike other bars/lounges where you might find a pretentious staff, everyone here is super cool and down to earth. Andy is a superb bar manager with a keen eye for a good act! A truly eclectic mix of bands and djs offer a great atmosphere that can’t be pigeonholed. Justin’s beer selection is always on point and is refreshed regularly. Jon is always there to provide some southern charm! All the other bartenders are really cool as well. Marshall, the head of security is super professional and always polite. I would suggest this place to anyone! It’s got great drinks, great prices, and great atmosphere! Check this place out!

This is actually a chill little spot. Kinda dark and sexy, but mellow and cool. Not very big so DON’T show up looking to dance here! Drink prices are ehh, but they do have live music some nights and one of the coolest/funniest bartenders ever! Lol Kari definitely made me and my friends night. We’ll be back to the boulevard soon!

Well where should I start… The place is a hole in the wall and bartenders steal. I came here with my girlfriend and my boyfriend for the night. Me and my boyfriend had 1 drink here so obviously not drunk. We go to buy my friend a drink, give the girl bartender a $ 100 dollar bill and she gives us change for a $ 20. She said we didn’t give her a $ 100 bill which I know we did for a fact because that was the cash we had brought with us and we weren’t using our debit card. They refused to check the cameras or count the drawers and just treated us as if we were drunk idiots-which we were not. It’s very sad to see an establishment so dishonest and unethical. I won’t be going back here… Ever! Beware don’t use cash here, they are only looking to make money and get one over on you.

Their drinks are so good! I had the whiskey sour and the bartender says they make the sweet and sour themselves. Best one I’ve had. They also have a great variety of unique drinks. Nice atmosphere too

For $ 10 a drink you’d think they’d refill the toilet seat covers and toilet paper after midnight, but Nope! Typical bar w over priced drinks. Mediocre, rather spend the money at someone who at least spends $ on replace toilet seat covers/toilet paper. Nasty.

«I must be pretty trashed, The Helm doesn’t smell like urine anymore!». The Boulevard is quite the juxtaposition from the prior tenants in this classic Costa Mesa location, and that my reader is a very good thing. Gone are the degenerate drunks, musty smells and surly bartenders of The Helm. They have been replaced by what feels like a «Cigar Bar» loaded with local Hipsters, «stylish» 30 and 40 somethings, and women with full sets of teeth. Refreshing really. The bathrooms are now clean, another important upgrade worth mentioning. They also feature a small outside deck and the bartender can put together some quality martini’s. The Boulevard is probably not going to be a local haunt for this Unilocaler, but it is leagues better than The Helm and a better option than The Goat Hill Tavern for someone looking for a more sophisticated watering hole.
