When here on a sleepy Thursday afternoon. This place is really about openness and atmosphere, as when you’re sitting at the bar you face Newport Blvd with plenty of cars and actions going on. The patio area looks inviting and appears to have plenty of space to hold larger groups. The service was good and the Happy Hour menu was really good. I think the ringer is the potstickers which included a scoop of a salad, really awesome. When we are in this part of OC during happy hour, this will be our go to place. I can’t believe I was contemplating going to Goat Hill Tavern, so glad I stumbled upon this place.

Maybe we went here on an off night, but they vibe was sort of weird. Everyone started to lighten up as the night went on, but initially the whole place was very quiet. The bacon mac n cheese was amazing and gooey! It is hard to get to, but parking is fairly easy and over we had a blast!

Loved the Cajun fries, the pesto chicken flat bread was the best I’ve ever had. The service was average. Awesome big screen TV. Bar type environment. Will come again!

Sat down with my 2 girlfriends and it took 30 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us. Tried waving several of the girls down, one which looked at us 4 times and did not bother to help us. Took another 10 min to get two drinks. As for the food, it was a lot better than the service. I had chili and we shared pot stickers which I must say were so yummy. Too bad the crowd and service here is pretty dang awful. Wish this experience were better since it’s about a 5 minute walk from my place.

Food, ambiance, friendly staff, great beer and full bar! I’m happy! There are music videos on which I love to watch with friends. My husband loves to watch sports here too so it’s a win win for us. Perfect night out spot. I’ve even brought my daughter here and it’s totally accommodating for families. I have tried the brunch too and it’s delicious. I recommend this place hands down if you are looking for a cool place to hang to pretty much be whatever you need it to be!

Love this place and the food gets better every single time I come here. Really friendly staff, great patio, and really fair prices. I don’t even know if you can classify this as «bar food» but if so its by far the best bar food I’ve ever had. Chicken Skewers FTW — you won’t be disappointed

The food was very yummy. I got the wedge salad with added bacon and chicken. Note: they give you a whole breast of chicken. My husband got the fish and chips, he said they were average. I got the bottomless mimosa, they come by and keep filling up your glass before you’re finished with it so keeping count on how much you’re drinking will be difficult. My husband asked for a golden road beer and didn’t realize there were two of them on tap so we got charged the higher price. But that’s what we get for not being specific. Lots of tv’s to watch games. It’s a great Sunday fun day location

I went to the Hub for a few drinks after our kickball game. The prices weren’t cheap, but they were reasonable for the area. The bar was loud and there were plenty of TV’s with music videos playing. I think the outside area is where it’s at. Nothing like sitting outside and having a couple of beers in Socal. I haven’t tried the food yet, but we’ll save that for Monday night football.

I like The Hub. Really delicious food and love the bar chairs and open concept bar. Plus you can have it your way and sit both inside and outside at the same time. Very comfortable! Love the plethora of big tvs and that they play music videos. Brunch is good but a little pricey for bottomless champagne compared to others in the area(cough.Woodys). I haven’t tasted any food here that I did not like. Most recently discovered the seared ahi salad, new favorite that I’ll definitely return for! The only downside is that service is slow. So slow that it might be hard to catch a buzz because you sober up by the time they get around to bringing you another drink. I usually sit at the bar so maybe it is better with a waitress. I think it may be the way that they have the bar set up, bartenders have to walk to the farthest side of the bar and it’s not ideal. This is the missing star for me. It’s not that they aren’t nice and effective, it’s just hard to get their attention. Either way, the food, convenience, ambience and the food(yep, worth mentioning twice) will keep me coming back for more. I really hope this place stays in business and that the bartenders put a little more hop in their step. If that happens, I may just review again and give them 5 stars!

Decent spot for lunch. Those big sandwiches that you end up taking half home in a box. I’d go back. Only complaint is that the first server that we had seemed to vanish once she figured out we weren’t here for cocktails. Second server was better.

Fantastic food and best sAt& sun brunch in CM! Love this place they have great food, drink specials ad great service. The burger is the best. The happy hour during the week is pretty great too. Nice patio area to sit outside and always a fun atmosphere! Best brunch item is the breakfast burrito or flatbread. They are always on top of the champagne refills and if you’re here on a sat or sun morning chances are you will be visited by Dennis Rodman. Dog friendly place too which is a bonus!!!

Only been here for lunch, so give this review limited trust, I’ll update after a dinner visit. Everything seems designed to be enjoyed at night, all dark with accent lights. So the lunch experience seemed weird, hot and empty. But the service was absolutely great and the Chicken Club sandwich delicious! The few customers at the bar were having beer, most of us were watching some sports on one of their many TVs installed everywhere, felt like vacation. This place should look totally different at night, but parking might be even worse than at lunch.

Came here for happy hour on a Friday. It wasn’t crowded; the service was quick and our waitress was very nice. The outdoor patio is very fun, with several TVs displaying both music and sports. Reasonable happy hour prices, with $ 6 mules. The food options on the hh menu were sparse. I wasn’t very hungry so I ordered a fish taco and fries. My boyfriend ordered the California burger. The food was very tasty but a bit messy! We could have used more napkins at our table, lol. Overall a very pleasant experience, and I plan to return again soon to try their brunch!

I’ll never pass up a «they have the best burger» recommendation. While my journey for the best burger in OC has been at a hiatus.(thank goodness), I was suggested The Hub. Yes, I was surely in the mood for a juicy burger and a beer. So, in a way, I was biased and setup for success. And to be quite frank, I wasn’t expecting a REALLYAWESOME burger. So I ordered the California Burger. I could’ve gone with the classic, but really the Cali Burger seemed like it at all the right additional ingredients. I ordered my meat RARE, and it was the perfect choice. The meat was done as expected, pink but not disgustingly raw. The texture was just right maintaining enough beef flavor, but bringing in the charbroiled accent which I always look for. It surely was your typical«Juicy» burger as it was oozing with bacon and cheese. I can say this burger was surely satisfying… but there was just something missing. And I can’t put my tongue on it, but the flavors just didn’t quite hit the spot. Not that the burger is all you’d go for. Had an order of parmesan fries and cajun as well. They were both decent, but nothing special. I felt like the fry size was between shoe string and regular. but neither at the same time. They had $ 4 margaritas. so I opted out of the beer. They don’t skimp on the tequila. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. But it was nothing out of this world… and I can say, I’ve experienced better. I still hold Peter’s Gourmade as one of the best burgers I’ve ever had… the flavors are just right… smokey with just the right amount of cheese avocado and bacon. I will admit, I’m a tough critic when it comes to burgers. And I’ve eaten a lot… Mick’s, Slater’s, Umami… you name it. If you’re looking for a place to eat some satisfying greased up food with a beer, I would recommend The Hub. Especially if you want to watch a game or hang out in a bar environment. But if you really want explosive flavors from your burger, check out Peter’s Gourmade.

Can’t get enough of this place! The patio is the perfect spot to enjoy a game, people watch, etc. The food is always great, and service is always good too! Saturday and Sunday they have bottomless mimosas that go until 3 and my glass is never empty! I love their daily specials and happy hour is very reasonably priced(mon-fri 3 – 6)! If you haven’t been to The Hub definitely check it out.

Came here for lunch at 2:30pm on a Sunday and sat on the patio. This place has been in my bookmarks to try during happy hour, and I wish I went during happy hour instead. Service — SLOW(but the servers were nice) Food — overpriced and bland(appetizers cost as much as the mains) Drinks — the Bloody Mary’s were alright and they were strong without tasting a lot of vodka. Not worth $ 10 each though. Ordered a sandwich, BBQ chicken flatbread, 1 beer, and 3 bloody Mary’s — total came out to $ 60. Too much to be paying for bland bar food. However, had I come during happy hour I’m sure I would have been more impressed. My flatbread was alright, I just would not come back during normal hours. Not worth the money.

The hub? More like the grub. Be prepared to over pay and under eat. What a waste of money and time. The service wasn’t so attentive either, had to flag them down every time. ahi tuna was mixed with tomatoes and onions and mangoes. Now it wasn’t that it didn’t taste good, but the fact that the ratio of tuna to other ingredients was way out of wack. Had I sorted the tuna from the rest im sure I’d be left with a tiny golf ball sized glob of tuna. And that’s COMPLETELYUNACCEPTABLE! $ 10 for one glass of corona lite. I really shouldn’t have to say anything more. Shrimp tacos were weird, battered, shrimp. Not what we expected. Again, the sea food here is so strange and tiny. I almost thought it was a joke. And from the texture and lack of flavor it’s easy to tell that the shrimp had been frozen in their freezer for a while. Not fresh! The fish taco was okay but I think I’ve had better at Del taco for half the price and double the tacos.

I’m a fan! And now they’re doing brunch! Weee! Who can resist a bottomless champagne brunch?! Especially when it tastes this good! I was already a fan when I first tried their lunch menu. Then they sealed the deal when I had their bottomless mimosa brunch this Saturday. For $ 15 you can add bottomless to your meal– anything off the breakfast or lunch menu. I had the HUBburger before so I knew they could cook a spectacular burger so I went for the hangover burger. This didn’t disappoint. Egg dripping down my hands… yummm I was in heaven. The burger was cooked perfect and everything was just so amazing. This is a BIG burger. I was only able to take down half but my boyfriend happily polished off the rest for me. Their scalloped potatoes that are served alongside were delicious as well. Odd paring was my first though but it worked! Our waitress Morgan was very on top of the top offs and checking in on us. I’ve always loved this location and it was a shame that Aloha Grill didn’t know what to do with it, but as you can see, the HUB knew exactly how to turn this space into something amazing. LOVE! Now… I wonder if they have a happy hour…

I’m not the Duchess here for nothing! This place is such a welcomed surprise to Costa Mesa. FINALLY, a real sports bar, with good food and drinks. We’ve been coming down here every Sunday to catch the games. Place starts to fill up just after tip-off, and seems to be catching on more and more so get here early. They have a large patio outside(TVs are located out there) and a giant bar(both in and outside) as well as tables surrounding the outside walls inside. I like options and this place gives me that. We’ve tried a few things off their dinner menu and off breakfast menu.. . all of it has been served quickly, fresh and very tasty. All the servers are on point and friendly. I’ve only had beer(okay draft list), their bloody(gets my vote) and one of their spicy mules, but again, I like their range of beverage options. They do a Sunday brunch with unlimited mimosas for $ 15.
